There is something so precious to me that I adore about Klaroline and it will always make me ship them more than any other pairing involving Klaus.
The fact that Caroline Forbes is just Caroline Forbes.
Sometimes I see the argument that « Klaus’ interest in Caroline is foolish and came out of nowhere ».
But? That’s precisely what I love about them. The fact that he didn’t have any reason to fall for her in the first place. After all, she’s just a high school girl in a small town and a regular vampire he found himself drawn to because of her essence and not because of anything about her that could benefit him in some way.
This proves how his love for her was genuine and how it just can’t be matched. Ever.
She wasn’t from any important lineage. She wasn’t a powerful witch, not a doppelgänger, not some girl with important relatives he could firstly use at his own benefit. Yet, he always thought of her as stronger than anyone else.
She was just Caroline Forbes. A girl who had no choice but to fight for herself and found her strength by her own means. He loved her entirely for that and for nothing else. 🤍

#Literally stop tweeting things like "what do you said to them after filming this". It's just a movie, it's pretend. You're an adult you should know that.

Nico is so real for being like. I'm actually a little bit in love with all of my friends. and my enemies. and if Callum asked to get a drink I'd probably say yes

it's hilarious to me that all the characters in ta6 thinks that Callum, the empath, is utterly incapable of actually understanding emotions and especially love, but then he's also the character who says things like "Tristan, I love you. I need you. I crave you." and "it was always meant to end with one of us" and "You don't have to choose me. Just know that it won't stop me from choosing you." and "See me for what I really am. You're the only one who ever has." and after Tristan asks him "Who am I supposed to be now?" replies "Whoever it is, I won't turn away."
that man doesn't know what it's like to be loved but he sure knows how to love with his whole being

Listen, there’s a LOT of things to be said about the actual ending of Atlas Complex, but Callum Nova unequivocally served cunt and comedic gold right up to the last second.

there is nothing olivie blake could possibly ever write that’s funnier than callum nova being the only one in the cohort who is adamantly and unequivocally not interested in atlas’ sinister plan to destroy the entire universe

i remember the first time i read that scene on the dragon republic where nezha wakes up from a nightmare in which rin dies and immediatly goes looking for her and then starts crying. i messaged a friend to rant about how he was so cute, and couldn't wait for them to get together
and then i got to the scene with the boat date under the moonlight, and i was like "YEESSSS FINALLY LETS GOOOOOO" and then he stabbed her and i just had to stop reading for a few minutes, cause like i had never been so affected by a fictional betrayal

nezha: when’s your birthday?
rin: why? so you can look up my natal chart? so you can figure out my weaknesses? so you can destroy me?
nezha: … so i know when to greet you happy birthday

it’s the way i imagine that after nezha has succeeded, gotten rid of the hesperians, and is ruling a peaceful nikara he puts rin’s sword in a display case and the plaque says
“the sword of fang runin, general of the southern coalition, general of nikara, speerly, shaman, last commander of the cike, savior of nikara.”
and somewhere he keeps letters that he’s written to her through the years. promising not to forget her or what she did for nikara. saying sorry. telling her about the day he drove hesperia out. telling her how what she did saved them. how he forgives her.
he always writes two of each, same words copied down each time. he keeps one for himself, to remember, but he burns the other one, so maybe, just maybe, she can see it.
anyway if you can’t tell this series destroyed me and i will actually never recover so that’s how i envision nezha’s future.

Don't you love it when they're so ruthlessly doomed by the narrative it's actually a bit impressive how you ever even had hope

I saw someone on Booktok (not gonna name who) talking about how The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang didn’t work for them, for multiple reasons.
Most of his reasons are up to interpretation and taste but there was one thing that was said in the video that irked me
“Rin’s female rage just didn’t work for me.”
I couldn’t stop thinking about that particular statement because Rin doesn’t really experience female rage throughout this story?
Feminine rage is, by definition, rage felt due to sexism, gender based discrimination, or injustices levied on women. But Rin doesn’t experience any of this. This is not the source of her rage.
Rin’s rage is a result of classism, colorism, and racism that she experiences in her own society, and then later by foreigners trying to colonize her country. Her rage comes from deep rooted cyclical injustices that affected her and her people. Her rage comes from atrocities and war. Her rage comes from abuse.
This is not to say gender plays no role in TPW, the catalyst for this story is Rin desperately attempting to run away from an arranged marriage her adoptive family is trying to force her into. But this is not the source of her rage, this is not what drives Rin throughout the story.
I think it is important to make the distinction between what is and is not feminine rage. Because to label all rage experienced by women “feminine” rage the term loses its meaning and becomes a new way to belittle women’s feelings.
Feminine rage is important.
Women experiencing rage is important.
We need to remember the distinction.

The Poppy War series is absolutely NOT a romance series but 'She’s the only divine thing he’s ever believed in. The only creature in this vast, cruel land who could kill him. And sometimes, in his loveliest dreams, he imagines she does.'
