everyone talks about one-hit wonders, but no one seems to think about two-hit wonders. neon trees released “everybody talks” and “animals” and then fucked off forever. LMFAO released “party rock” and “sexy and i know it” and then apologized and left the radio. many such cases, all of which are deeply fascinating to me

there is this trend on tiktok that is like “when my mom was my age she was married and look at me, I’m living at home asking her basic questions about how life works! hehe!” when my mom was my age she bought a pack of cigarettes and smoked one and got so sick she vowed to never smoke again and left the mostly full pack of cigarettes on the table in her living room for several years so visitors would hopefully think she was cool and edgy and a smoker. 23 years old. my mommy.

the difference in quality of life in living in a town with no local coffee shops/shacks and living in a town with a local coffee shop/shack is crazy. leaving your miserable house at least once a week to get an affordable latte made by an affable barista makes all the difference in the world. yes there is coffee at home. but, there is the world outside.
