Not a soul has to answer this but I'm curious - do you love or hate writing spicy scenes?
(I would tag some of y'all but don't want to put anyone on the spot.)
I'm getting ready to write one of these scenes and I really have to be in the right frame of mind to do it anymore whereas when I first started writing fic, I jumped into smut scenarios quicker than the plumber would show up in a porn film. I would never make it as a straight-up erotica author but I could never write clean romance either. Just curious if any fic writers feel strongly one way or another about this.

I definitely have to be in the right frame of mind. I think it's because in a smutty romance the sex scenes are climaxes (😏) of their own within the story - just like the love declaration. They're so good when there's a proper build up, and just like real life intimacy, we need some foreplay! 😁 So there's a pressure to get it right.
For me, I can't write a scene (of any kind) unless I've fully visualised it first like a movie in my head - so when I get to these scenes I'm essentially a pervy little voyeur watching these characters clap cheeks. I need to be able to picture it all in my head or I think I'd end up writing something very clinical and forced - and sometimes, conjuring that full scene with all the emotions, nerves, sensations and sounds is difficult.
Also, I feel like just as the word choices in a love declaration scene could make or break a book/fic, the same could be said of sex scenes. The amount of times I've umm-ed and ahh-d about what to call a body part, how to describe the noises, the particular phrasing of the dirty talk! 😩
I just think they're important emotional beats within a romance, and that's why you're fretting - because I do too!

🎉🎉🎉 woo hoo! Congrats on your debut release @kittykatknits !! And I feel exactly the same about the jonsa fandom - no way would I now be making a living writing if it weren't for all the lovely support and encouragement from the jonsas 🩷🩷🩷

I started working on a project several months ago after years of telling myself I wasn't good enough or talented enough.
I'm sitting here and realizing none of it would have happened if it wasn't for the Jonsa fandom. This ship made me write, and then the fandom helped me keep going.

I've been feeling a little numb over it all day. Already working on the next manuscript. :)

“How do you know they would even try to rescue me from you?”
“Because it’s what I would’ve done.” He releases her arms making her feel strangely cold. Jon steps closer, eating up that space again. His one grey eye roaming over her face. “If someone else held you against your will, then I would do all that I could to get you back.”
“And yet it is you that is holding me against my will, General.”
“Tell me, is there any other way that I could be holding you… cousin?”
