study of attitudes via wardrobe :  sister jo . sister jo’s wardrobe maintains a balance of traditionalism and extravagance .  she has a strong preference for long dresses with long coats or jeans with blouses and boots .

[ fig. 1, 2 ] :  EARLY SEASONS 4-5   —    starting out with bold oranges and excessive patterns, sister jo establishes herself as an angel independent of heaven, seeking pleasure in impersonating her vessel .  as she experiences earth for the first time, she experiments with her expensive taste to the point where she overdresses to make a statement . [ fig. 3, 4 ] :   POST- SEASON 9 FALL  —   sister jo shows preference for deep reds that enable her to be a spectacle to admired and loved by all the patients she treats as a faith healer .  although confident and self-assured, she is insecure and afraid of losing that kind of power . [ fig. 5, 6 ] :   POST-LUCIFER SEASON 13  —  after being liberated from lucifer and detaching herself entirely from heaven, sister jo expresses her much more confident and laid-back attitude in soft and bold pinks .  although bright and colorful, pinks are less bolder than the red shades that she’d choose to flaunt her confidence with . the pastel touches also reveal something much more genuine such as feelings of loneliness and desire for love or to be loved .
