im not saying my real name, but one nickname i was given was Andy so there’s my username. i WAS a blackhawks fan but after today, i’m now a canucks fan (don’t worry i’ve been following along a little this past season)…what should i know about canucks that not many people who were/are fans of other teams

Lukas Reichel as a dad (headcanon)
before we begin, you and Lukas already have a son together
He’s two and his name is Josiah
He was a surprise baby
Long story short, you and Lukas celebrated a lot when he got drafted
So when Lukas and you moved to Rockford is was a huge adjustment
Now, Lukas is two seasons into his professional hockey career
He’s about to enter his third and he’s made it onto the Blackhawks lineup
After his NHL debut, you both, once again, celebrated a lot
You think you would’ve learned after the first
It’s the off season when you find out you’re pregnant again
You both are over the moon with excitement
You break the news to Lukas’s parents via FaceTime
They’re beyond excited for another grandkid
Being your second baby, Lukas is more at ease when you have Braxton Hicks or when you have bad morning sickness
However your son doesn’t quite understand why he’s not getting attention 24/7 like he’s used to
“Liebling, mommy has a baby in her tummy now so she has to take care of the baby” Lukas explains for the umpteenth time to your son
“Does she not love me?” Your son asks
“Oh buddy, she loves you very much but she also loves the baby too”
As you approach 18 weeks you start to get worried about finding out the gender
You honestly don’t care either way, as long as baby is happy & healthy
A girl would be fun so you could have the best of both worlds
And so Delia’s son could have a little gf
But a boy would also be fun because #DoubleBoyMom plus you wouldn’t have to buy too many new clothes
The gender reveal party is FILLED with all the Little Hawks and Little IceHogs
You can’t help but think about baby #3 down the road
“Honey, you barely entered your second trimester, pump the brakes a little… for my sake” Lukas jokes
The grand reveal is just popping a balloon filled with the respective color confetti
You pop the balloon and…
IT’S A BOY!
All the guests take time to congratulate you, Lukas and Josiah
The weeks of pregnancy go on
And this one definitely sucks more than the first
Everything aches
Everything gets on your nerves
and your hormones are out of wack
For example, when Lukas came home from a game, he set his bag down in an unusual spot and for some reason you broke down in tears???
You swear you’ve never seen him apologize faster in his life
“Babe it’s fine I’m just hormonal right now and I’m uncomfortable and this little man is digging into my ribs, and Josiah missed his nap today” you say in the middle of sobbing
“It’s okay my love, it’s okay” he says
Finally, after what felt like an eternity of a pregnancy, your water breaks
Having to explain to Josiah why you and daddy are going away for a few days confuses him
But he soon forgets as he is staying with his BFF Sonny Delia
Your contractions are horrible this time around but labor goes by fast
You push for just a few minutes before baby boy pops out
And he’s perfect, just like his brother
He has the same face as his dad and brother
And he has a full head of hair
However, he has your smile
You name baby # 2 Thomas Johann, or TJ for short
Once discharged you head straight to the Delia’s to see Josiah and show the Delias baby TJ
Josiah accommodates to the new addition really well
Like almost too well
He loves being around his “baby brudder”
He enjoys sitting on the couch with you and Lukas while you hold the baby
“Mommy can hold baby please” Josiah begs every so often
“Mommy when can Teej play toys with me?”
The first game back after his short leave, Lukas scores his first career hat trick
And he dedicates a goal to you, Josiah and baby TJ

finding out bugs a girl
lil blurb about finding out bug is a girl 🧸🤍

You had gone back and forth about finding out the gender of the baby but you ultimately decided that neither of you could wait the full forty weeks to find out.
You wanted to buy clothes, find names and decorate their nursery.
Just your luck that Quinn nor either of your brother in law’s were participating in the post season and all managed to be home in Michigan for the party.
You left the planning to your mother in law. She would take care of it all, you just had to show up and look pretty.
To say you were shocked was an understatement. When you arrived at the house and led out to the backyard it was decorated so beautifully.
A Teddy bear theme was evident, giant teddy bears and small scattered around. A large bear sat up next to a board reading ‘we can bearly wait’
Your mouth dropped open and a small tear rolled down your cheek “No way you’re crying already!” Luke interrupted the moment and brought Quinn’s attention to your tears.
You sniffled and laughed “Hormones! This is amazing, where’s your mom?” She appeared behind him
“I’m here! Oh my darling you look gorgeous!” And hugged you, taking you away from Quinn introducing you to different guests.
“This is my daughter in law, isn’t she beautiful? No not Jack, this is Quinn’s wife… yes we can’t believe it either”
“Y/N is my daughter in law, this is Quinn’s great aunt”
“Yes, we’re very excited! She looks beautiful pregnant doesn’t she?”
After making the rounds you found your way to Quinn where he sat with his brothers and friends.
“Hey baby, you ok?” He asked, pulling you down onto his lap.
You hummed “I’m good, just thinking”
“Good things?” “Just thinking how loved our baby is”
He hummed in agreement “she’s so loved” and you scowled “You don’t know it’s a girl! It’s a boy! You Hughes’ are all freaking boys!” You exclaimed gesturing around the group earning a chuckle from everyone else.
Everyone slowly started adding their two cents in on the debate and when she heard Ellen told them they had to write on the chalk board she’d put up.
boy: y/n, jack, brock, nick, jim, grandma penny, briss
girl: quinn, ellen, luke, elias, brady, taryn, sienna, pop
“Okay, everyone gather round! It’s time to find out so everyone cast your final votes!” Ellen announced around the garden, pulling you both over to where a hockey stick sat.
“We wouldn’t be a hockey family if we didn’t find out our first grandchild in correct fashion!” She smiled waving around a puck in her hand you saw engraved in white with the words
baby hughes
you smiled taking it from her and putting it on the floor while Quinn grabbed the stick.
“Don’t fumble Huggy!” Was called out from the crowd and Quinn rolled his eyes “Yeah thanks”
He turned to you and gave a nervous smile, you leaned over and kissed his cheek “I love you”
“Ok, three, two, one!” You watched him hit the puck and the cloud of coloured dust burst out of it.
pink, it was pink. girl, it’s a girl. your babygirl.
There were no words shared between you both while everyone yelled, shouted and hollered around you. The two of you just stared at one another and smiled before you grasped his face between your hands and smiled
“We’re having a babygirl” you mumbled, a tear rolling down your smiling face.
“Our girl” he replied, wiping your tear with his thumb and pressing a kiss to your forehead.
The party continued into the night with congratulations and alot of ‘helpful’ advice for you both until the attendance fizzled out to just your family sat around the fire.
“I can’t believe it’s a little girl” Jack said.
You nodded, snuggling in closer to Quinn’s chest “I know me either I really thought it was going to be a boy”
“She’s gonna be the most protected little girl though that’s for sure”
“Oh god tell me about it”
When everyone started smaller conversations with each other you two just sat there next to the fire, his hands lay on the bump under the blanket you shared.
“I love you and I’m so grateful you’re having my baby”
“I love you more Q, I’m so happy we’re doing this together”
