The way you change your immediate reactions to things is that you catch yourself having an uncharitable/bigoted/overly judgmental thought and you catch it and replace it and then you do that a hundred times a day for your whole life and eventually one day like five years later you realize that you think differently now and you’ll always be working on something but that’s how life goes and that’s fine.

If you scroll through the owner's manual, there are buttons on the console for choosing the gear you want, but it's a secondary system, the company wants you to use the touch screen. There's also a not fully functional feature you can enable called 'Auto-Shift out of park' which sounds like a horrible idea.

While there's no recourse for a failure mode revealing itself for the first time, there is recourse for preventing it from happening in the future. Option A is for people to say 'holy fuck, I am not buying this car/getting rid of the one I have' and option B is for the NHTSA to slap Tesla with a major safety recall and stop the sale of dangerous vehicles until they make the vehicles safe and easy to exit in an emergency.

On week 8 now. Still 4 days a week, but I added some weight to squats.

I haven't even checked if I can do a push up or pull up. nvm i checked. can't do push up yet. can do one (1) pull up. i guess i could add baby push ups to the mix and see if that helps.

i decided to lift weights and do body weight squats at least 4 times a week, and so far i have stuck to it for 3 weeks now. i don't work out on nights i work 9 hours, but maybe i'll start doing that idk.

my goal is to do a fucking push up and pull up without feeling pathetic have muscly arms. i figure i might as well work my legs too.

#could increase the weight too #well finish out this week then increase the weight next week #i think part of my push up problem is hypermobile shoulders #i can kind of dislocate my shoulder on a whim for laughs and i'm pretty sure that makes doing a push up harder #maybe i should do shoulder specific exercises

Just finished. I'm so happy with how this one turned out! At just over 17" (43cm) in diameter this is my largest design to date. Each section uses only 2 thread colours (white + 1 other). Blackwork embroidery on 14-count Aida cloth.

The social attitude regarding age is consistently getting weirder. You’re not ‘pushing 30’ you’re just in your late 20s. 30 is not old and neither is 40 while I’m at it. Growing older is an enormous privilege and displaying that age is a gorgeous component of life. Spending your days trying to reverse that grace breeds an eternally wasted life.

Dates show this is a newer video, so for anyone unaware Walmart recently entered a $45 million settlement for overcharging on weighted goods. Not just prepackaged meats but also bagged fruits and veggies sold by the pound.

I don't know how many stores do this, but Meijer has digital scales all over their fresh produce area, so you can print a label right there instead of weighing at checkout. Most stores I have been in have had a mechanical scale for checking produce weights as well.

skimmed an article recently about how former 24 hour places just aren't going back to being open late anymore. [this shit very much sucks as a shift worker].

they stopped being 24 hours due to lockdown shit in 2020/2021, and people had to forcibly change their habits. now people aren't staying out late, so former 24 hour places aren't staying open late.

but get this: you're not going to be open late because i'm not staying out late, but i'm not going to stay out late because you're not open late, and you're not going to be open late because i'm not staying out late, but i'm not...
