i swear studyblrs are forces of pure chaos because i look at y'alls posts and it'll be an aesthetic picture of a cafe and some notes but the caption will say some shit like "12/8/2019, my boyfriend cheated on me with my sister and my parents kicked me out ... but it's finals week so i'm studying for my english lit exam !!"

life update because long time no see!!!!!! I’ve not been active here lately because life’s been overwhelming so here’s a messy update:
1- I’ve been mainly focusing on my dissertation which is FINALLY FINISHED! I’ve submitted the final version for review and once I get that back I’ll have to fix some things and then upload the final version the first week of june!
2- I’ve also had a ton of projects to work on for all three classes I have this semester and I still have 2 big ones to finish and they’re due in 3 weeks…
3- I’ve been going to the dentist almost every week since the beginning of April and it sucks but at least the dentist guy is cute so
4- I saw endgame two days in a row when it came out and it destroyed me and i’m still not over it so yeah
5- also been watching game of thrones and season 8 is a freaking joke i can’t believe what they’re doing to the characters’ arcs.
6- I still don’t have a clue what I’m gonna do with my life once uni is over lol also wish my family would stop asking me no
7- I’ve reached that level of stress where I’m just kinda calm and it’s scary.

I woke up at 4am and couldn’t get back to sleep. So I’ve binged half the new season of Queer Eye until the sun came up and spent the rest of today typing up Greek philosophy notes and working on a translation of a Clouds excerpt.

(day 20/100 of productivity Spring Term 🌷) When you start to map out a paper but your cat wants to cuddle. Working on this philosophy class always feels like a break from my other courses, I really enjoy the material. My controller may seem random, but I listen to spotify or youtube playlists via my xbox, so its always near me.

my class was cancelled today so my day consisted of watching too many episodes of brooklyn 99, crying over hoseok’s twitter posts, and doing some microeconomics review 🌥
i’d say it’s been a pretty good day so far! hope you all relax and enjoy today💛

happy april and happy friday!
today, i was quite productive: i worked out, wrote an essay of 1700 words, sent two emails which i’ve been procrastinating, and made a birthday card for my dad! i still want to finish an essay of 400 words before tonight. and that wraps up my to-do list for today!
sending positive thoughts, a warm mug of your favorite beverage (spring herbal tea for me), and your favorite snack bar (nakd blueberry muffin)! ☕️

Morning Habits Worth Starting (Especially for College)
Give yourself enough time to get ready before you have to leave in the morning. For me this means setting my alarm about an hour before the time that I have to get my foot out the door. Eat a proper breakfast, do a little stretching, figure out your plan for the day. Having a slower paced morning is a lot more relaxing, and you can get your day started correctly.
Drink water first thing. I used to be a pretty heavy coffee drinker in the mornings in high school, but I realized that I could get away with a lot less caffeine if I started my morning off with a nice glass of cold water. You’re probably dehydrated after sleeping and water helps wake you up.
Make your bed. Making your bed is a visual reminder that sleeping time is over and that it’s time to get up! If I have a messy bed, I want to climb in and snuggle back into my blankets. This is especially true in the winters when it’s cold and dark. The movement also helps you wake up, which brings me to my next point:
Move! Your! Body! You don’t necessarily have to run through an entire yoga routine or go for a run (but hey, props to you if you do), but getting some movement in your mornings will help you wake up. I like to stretch a little bit, warm up my joints, maybe loosen up my limbs. It helps to get your blood flowing.
Open your curtains. In the winter it might be kind of dark and depressing where you live, so this isn’t always something recommended. I like to open my curtains when it’s sunny out so I can get some natural light, which helps your circadian rhythm so you wake up better - and fall asleep at night better.
Do something productive before your class begins. If your first class is super early, this might not apply. But I find it tremendously helpful to get something done, whether it be a flash card set, a work out, or a load of laundry, before my first class. It’ll get you into a productive mood for the rest of the day, and even if you aren’t productive for whatever reason, you can go to sleep knowing that at least you got something done that day!

Evening Habits Worth Starting (Especially for College)
Looking for the first part? Morning Habits Worth Starting
Lay out your clothes for the next day. Honestly, you’re more likely to waste time picking out an outfit when it’s early and your brain is still hazy. Save yourself some time by laying out everything for the next day. Clothes, socks, jewelry. This way, you can just roll out of bed and put your clothes on. Extra helpful in the winter when it’s freezing.
Double check your to-do list. Mentally run through all your classes and activities to see if you have any important events or assignments coming up and write them in your planner. Make sure you didn’t forget to do something you were supposed to do! I’ve been guilty of forgetting to submit assignments, send an email, or call my mom. Running through your to-do list in the evenings is a good way to catch any mistakes.
Clean up! Some things might seem obvious, like taking a shower or brushing your teeth. However, I’m willing to bet some of us (all of us?) have skipped out on taking off our makeup properly, or a skin care routine. Take some time to wash your face and apply some lotion. Your skin will thank you!
Journal. This can appear in many different forms. I used to try to push myself to document every single thing that happened to me in a day and invariably it would get boring and exhausting so I would stop. I find it a lot easier to just write about my emotions, things I’m stressed about, or things that stood out to me. Some days I’ll write 2 pages and some days I’ll write a few sentences. It’s the time spent reflecting on yourself that matters!
Read. Reading is hands down one of the best ways to increase your knowledge and expand your worldview. There’s a good reason Bill Gates reads a book a week! I try to spend 15-30 minutes a night reading before bed, which has the lovely effect of keeping me off my technology before bed.
Speaking of which, get off your technology. Using technology right before bed can cause you to feel more alert. Obviously, there might be some restrictions for people. You might be going to bed straight after finishing a paper or submitting an assignment. But if you’re lounging around right before bed, stay off your phone or tablet. One way is to put your technology away, then go and take a shower and brush your teeth. When you get back, read a book until bed time.
Set a consistent bedtime. It doesn’t have to be super early (hey, this is college), but establishing consistency in your bedtime helps you fall asleep faster and improves your quality of sleep. If you’re already sleep deprived, the quality of your sleep can make a big difference. An easy way to help you get to bed on time is to set an alarm!

You’re healing every time you
get out of bed because there’s something you’re excited about.
don’t think about people who left.
clean the clutter in the room and dishes in your sink.
smile at yourself and random people.
do something kind and out of the blue to make someone happy.
work out or meet with friends even though you have no energy to.
calm yourself down when your thoughts race.
remember to drink water.
don’t dwell on things you can’t control.
do things good for yourself, even though you have no motivation.
tell yourself that you’re growing from this, and you won’t feel like this forever.

It’s so healing to wake up in a silent house and silently make your own coffee or tea and enjoy the beautifully intricate fullness of the morning silence while remaining calm and collected and unbothered by all outer and inner noise and it’s so low-key elevating and pacifying to rejoice in the silent atmosphere of your own house and just silently block the rest of the world…it’s a slice of heaven

Finally happy new year from me too!!
In these first days I’m proud to say that I had so many changes in my lifestyle, my organisation, my reaction to events and determination to achieve goals… they are passed ondy 8 days, but I feel really powerful… and if it’s true that habits get built in 3 weeks, I’m not that far from it… so keep fighting for your dreams! We can do it!
Anyway, an other way which I would use to express my new determination is this blog… I’ll keep you in track of my new achievements!

warm + productive things to do in the morning 🍵
1. drink water. as soon as you wake up or after you wash your mouth. it gets your metabolism going and makes you feel more energized.
2. revel in peaceful isolation. it’s so quiet at dawn. and somehow, the darkness isn’t as daunting as it is at night. you can detach yourself from the world since it’s still asleep, but you don’t feel lonely, just.. grounded.
3. meditate. you can either go classic ‘clear your mind’ like training to ward of a Legilimens or follow guided meditation via podcasts/videos. it’s perfect because no one’s awake to bother you.
4. write morning pages/journal. to me, this is like meditation but instead letting your thoughts bubble up to the surface and flow onto paper. it gives your day a sense of direction, too.
5. exercise. run outside. run around your house. run in place. do jumping jacks. get your blood pumping. stretch. pop the kinks out of your bones. crack your muscles like a glow stick.
6. make yourself some tea. or coffee, if you’re more into that.
7. prepare a decent breakfast. make it protein-rich. it’s your fuel, after all.
8. watch the sun rise. nothing beats waiting for the sun to peek into the horizon and saying, ‘guess who finally decided to show up.’ (also, pretty colors.)
9. take a walk. preferably once the sun’s up. unless you’re neighborhood’s safe af.
10. cuddle with your SO. could be your sibling/s. could be your cat or bunny. could be your Kaneki body pillow.
11. read a book. or a fanfic. just a couple of chapters. make sure it’s something that motivates/inspires you or gives off positive vibes because it’ll set your mood.
12. clear your space. light a candle or diffuse some citrus or mint to ‘clear the energy’ around you or just to freshen your environment up a bit. start putting things away. sweep the floor. (make your bed.)
13. spend extra time on grooming. you have the time–use it. exfoliate. bathe in moisturizer. style your hair. make at most 3 outfit changes until you’re comfy and confident.
14. watch a video that motivates you. i suggest TED Talks, lifestyle gurus like Lavendaire and Rowena Tsai on YT, and ‘Get Productive With Me’ vlogs.
15. plan. make an overview of the day, if you don’t have one yet. set clear intentions and specify your priorities so your day has more direction.
