Original Anime ‘Auatrope of White Sand’ Announced for Summer 2021

On January 15, P.A. Works announced for its new original anime series Auatrope of White Sand (Shiro Suna no Auatrope). The studio uploaded a teaser PV and launching an official website. The series will premiere in July.

Auatrope of White Sand follows 18-year-old student Kukuru Misakino, who works at the Gama Game Aquarium in Okinawa. One day, she meets Fuuka, a beautiful failed idol with flowing hair, crying in front of a tank. Kukuru decides to show her the aquarium’s wonderous secrets, that you can see mysterious things there. The two explore these secrets and face the urgent crisis of the aquarium’s doomed future.

The series stars Miku Ito (Fragtime) and Rikako Aida (Love Live! Sunshine!!) as Kukuru and Fuuka, respectively. Toshiya Shinohara (Black Butler) directs the series. Tuuko Kakihara is in charge of series composition. Kurumi Suzuki will serve as art director with art supervisor Junichi Higashi. Much of the key staff, including the four previously listed, worked together on IRODUKU: The world in Colors.
