I know that the Hazbin Hotel fandom likes to joke about the idea of Lucifer sleeping with Eve and saying, 'Haha Lucifer took both Lilth and Eve away from Adam and fucked both of them' thanks to Lucifer saying "Well, your first wife didn't seem to hate what I had to offer. Or the second. Bow-chika-wow-wow!"

But I really hope this is not the case and it was just Lucifer being silly to get under Adam's skin and did not actual have sex with Eve. Why? Because there is a belief called 'Serpent Seed' in where some believe that the serpent mated with Eve and Cain being the offspring from that.

Only problem is that the Serpent Seed theory has been prompted by racist organizations to demonize People of Color and Jews, basically anyone who is non-white. I do not want my post to get flagged but here is Wikipedia article the goes in more depth.

I know some will say 'It is not that deep' but I knew about this racist belief for a couple of years now and I do not want Hazbin to make this belief apart of its story/lore.

I hope the part of the line "hate what I had to offer. Or the second' Lucifer is talking about the apple he gave to Eve, not having sex with her as well.

Some concept sketches from my Adam redesign! I think he’s a bit cluttered but also somehow less grandiose than I want him to be? I’m still workin on him.

Criticism is always welcome, please just be respectful! Some more notes + thoughts under the cut

- with Adam I want a little mix between a ‘king’ and a ‘holy knight’. I imagine he holds himself to a very high standard, as God entrusted him with this role in my rewrite!

- the owlish features are on purpose. Lilith might not be a character in this rewrite, but her name does mean ‘screech owl’ so I wanted a parallel of that with Adam being like a great horned owl

- “what’s the white thing under his cloak” his crop top be nice /j

- I want to push his physique more, make him stockier, bulkier, all that stuff. Kind of a mix between a powerlifter or Price from COD? Either way I want a belly on this guy. Fat fuck Friday is everyday babyy

- he’s got a sword I’ll design by itself. Maybe

- acts more like a priest tbh. Calls all sinners ‘my son/daughter/child’ and ‘lost children’ since he is, by all logic, the father of humanity. He WANTS to believe in Charlie’s rehabilitation plan, but he also wants to be realistic

- his dynamic with Charlie is.. something. He’s reminded of his own son (Abel) when he sees her, and his general paternal demeanor has led to Charlie seeing him as something of a second fatherly figure. She gets to have TWO dads not believe in her now! /lh

- him and eve are… also something. They’re still technically married but it’s complicated now. Adam has always been a reserved individual, more obedient to God and quicker to fall in line. Eve is a free spirit who often goes to places he’s not sure he can follow, or more accurately scared to

Adam Is A Pure Straw Character

I've talked about before how Charlie's mentality is never challenged and when it is the person opposing it is portrayed as in the wrong but I think the biggest example of this is Adam. Adam is a boring, one-dimensional antagonist with little personality or depth beyond "asshole who swears a lot".

Adam directly opposes Charlie's ideals and is clearly intended to be the exact opposite of her; an asshole who believes sinners can't be redeemed and deserve depth (Which is the only actually interesting thing about Adam as a character tbh). But the show never gives Adam much depth or nuance as a character beyond that BECAUSE he's meant to strawman who solely exists to be torn down by the story.

Charlie is completely 100% right that everyone can be redeemed and since Adam doesn't think so, he's automatically a one-dimensional asshole who has to proven wrong. Sure, Adam's mentality that sinners can't be redeemed is black and white, not to mention false, but Charlie's everyone can be redeemed mentality is equally as lacking in nuance. They are both extremes leaning into opposite directions, yet the extreme that our protagonist leans into is the one presented as correct.

Really, both extremes are incorrect, not everyone can be redeemed but saying that bad people will always be bad people is also wrong. Redemption is more complex than that and it would have been cool to see the show explore that, but as I've talked about before, Hazbin never explores its themes beyond very surface-level stuff.

Adam can't have a point about how sometimes, some sinners can't be redeemed because then Charlie's ideals would have actual flaws to them and the show can't have that, now would it? He needs to be a one-dimensional asshole with little depth so the show could tear him down and portray Charlie as the one in the right. Adam is fully in the wrong and Charlie is fully in the right, no more nuance than that.

In my mind I only have a deep voice, without any actor's voice to give an example. Although a colleague mentioned Lord Shen's voice actor, so I guess I also consider it a tone of voice that would suit him.
