Let me cry how important it is to me that it is Natsuo who is shielding Shouto in the new chapter.

Natsuo was the last sibling and Todoroki family member introduced into the story - him and Shouto are shown interacting the first time at the awkward family dinner after Endeavor's fight against Hood.

Natsuo is also the family member who holds onto Touya's memory the strongest, so his open conflict with Endeavor gives us and Shouto an insight into the rift among the siblings (the earlier chapters focused on Shouto's history with his father and mother mostly).

Natsuo not even knowing Shouto's favourite food becomes the symbol of the distance between them. They are virtual aliens living in the same house - their "could have been" sibling bond a collateral damage to Endeavor's abuse, Touya's rage and narrative that Natsuo held in his heart in his grief.

This leads to Natsuo's own regret of not trying to confront Endeavor and Touya and of not trying to make them face each other, which also led to his personal guilt of choosing to never interact with his little brother, even when he could have.

Shouto from his own side seems quite eager to bond with Natsuo and values his sincere feelings even if they are unpleasant as something positive and needed:

and he is fiercely protective of his older brother.

Shouto even adopts Natsuo's definition of normal sibling bonding as "Knowing each other's favourite food and enjoying noodles together" that he later extends to Touya.

I think it's worths bringing back here the School Briefs story from the 5th volume that delves into Natsuo's POV and elaborates his feelings of regret and guilt about failing his role as big brother to Shouto:

I highlighted the more heartbreaking parts, but Natsuo goes through feelings of helpless anger about their broken family, the abuse he couldn't stop, but then also examining the things he could have but didn't and then finally moving onto the things he still can (like being involved in Shouto's life now going forward and bonding over things they can - making lumpy, screwed up soba together).

So Natsuo getting to be the person, the big brother to protect Shouto in this situation is not only deeply healing from Shouto's perspective, but also Natsuo's, who has done a lot in the family to keep Touya's memory alive, to start arguments that were needed to move forward and it also honors the bond Shouto and Natsuo built as a result of the healing they already started.

The first thing his slightly dumbfound mind managed to conjure up was that he’d been isekai’d, but it was thought with a mental laugh and a ‘yeah, sure’ followed right after. Meaning the only feasible conclusion was that he was still asleep, and this was all a dream. Or, Ajax wakes up somewhere that looks suspiciously similar to Liyue, from Genshin Impact, the videogame; and resolves to change history. Ongoing. Not Really Isekai AU. It's explained in the fic. I wasn't sure about this fic going into it but after the first two chapters, I was sucked into it and was binge-reading it over the course of a couple of days. It has an interesting plot, the yakshas are adorable kids because this takes place before The Archon War, and the original characters that are introduced are great. The magic system in this is also super interesting mixing game mechanics, lore, and theory. Make sure to check out the artwork linked throughout the fic too!

Someone has been sneaking into the Kamisato Estate every night, leaving behind dirty footprints and random trading cards around Ayato's desk. Thoma is losing his mind, Ayato pretends not to know anything, and Itto is Itto.

Complete. So funny and so cute! Ayato is an absolute menace and poor Thoma gets caught in his schemes lol.

Albedo, usually one for blunt and quick actions, was struggling to determine how he should continue. On one hand, marking the death as suicide, as it very much appeared to be, would immediately close the case and give the bereaved family some much needed closure. But could Albedo really do that when so many things didn't line up? Sitting back in his chair Albedo let out a deep breath. He scanned down the page reading the provided boxes. ... He was really going to do this wasn't he? Picking up quill with a steady hand, Albedo marked the fourth and final box with a neat cross mark. Death under suspicious circumstances. Albedo stood, waiting for the ink to dry before gently picking the piece of paper up. Albedo had a new assignment. As head of the Knights of Favonius Investigation Unit, Albedo was not going to let the cause of Diluc Ragnvindr's death go unknown.

When Diluc is reported dead as what appears to be a suicide, Jean struggles to keep it together, Kaeya is left in shambles, and Albedo begins to uncover the web of secrets and lies that Diluc left behind.

Ongoing. Mystery. Don't worry, Diluc isn't actually dead. Idk if that counts as a spoiler but I wouldn't read it if he was actually dead. I mean, the tags make it pretty obvious he's not dead. Regardless, this fic is really interesting and Albedo and Kaeya get lots of spotlight. I cried during parts of it :')

Even if they can’t be brothers again, he still wants Diluc in his life. It’s selfish, he knows– he’s lucky enough that Diluc tolerates his presence. Asking for forgiveness is a large leap from what they have going on now, but still, some part of him wants to try.

One-shot. Reconciliation fic. I CRIED TWICE READING THIS-! It hurts and then soothes.

Complete. Is this now the third fic rec from this author? Yes. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. You know what, I'm just going to recommend this author in general. The fics that I've read have all made me laugh. This fic is both hilarious and adorable. A friendship between Keqing and Zhongli is not something I thought I would love but here we are. One of the most charming fics I've ever read, hands down.

One-shot. This fic is so precious! Lots and lots of platonic physical affection and it addresses Aether's clearly traumatizing experiences in Inazuma. I've read several of this author's fics and they portray Aether in almost the exact way I'd always imagined him. I recommend reading more of their fics!
