another wip from apr. 2021 that I never posted— art inspired by The Devil's Dues by DragonWarden (@dw-t), which was/is possibly one of my favorite tronfic of all time, it's so unlike anything other tronfic I've ever read in the most incredible way. highly recommend it if it seems up your alley. literally shook me to my core when I first read it.

It came to my attention today that the Flynn Lives Alternate Reality Game has gone offline. Do not despair! The ARG is one of my favorite pieces of Tron canon, so I backed up about 99,9% of it. :D

This .zip file includes:

.mht versions of all ARG-related webpages

screencaps of some of the pages, especially those that wouldn’t save properly otherwise (alas, the Hydecker Designs company website’s animation is lost forever) + all saveable images, saved seperately in full size.

video, audio, and other misc media clips and files from the various ARG-related webpages

a to my knowledge complete recording of the Space Paranoids Online press conference and a bunch of behind-the-scenes prep, in addition to the ARG’s “official” recap. when I saved those videos it was not my intention to redistribute them, so I didn’t record the source anywhere, and now I’ve forgotten. do forgive me. :(

to my knowledge all the Blu-ray easter eggs, including the The Next Day: Flynn Lives Revealed short

This .zip file does NOT include:

the audio samples from the Flynn Frontier website. I couldn’t figure out how to save them, so I put it off and I put it off again, and then the 404 happened. :| if you have them, PLEASE SHARE.

the Amazon Capoeira and Circuit Cycles pages went down long before any of the others, before I ever entered the fandom; probably because they had .jp and .br addresses that were harder for the US-based company behind the ARG to keep up. if you have screencaps or any other source material from these pages, PLEASE SHARE!

??? I don’t think I missed anything else, but if there’s anything you saved from the ARG pages that’s not in here, PLEASE SHARE!

If there’s anything wrong with the files in the .zip, please let me know - preferably including a way to fix it. I’m honestly not that computer literate beyond this. Some file names may be bilingual gibberish, because I originally made this folder purely for my own benefit. No need to mention that. :P DO feel free to reupload and pass along! I don’t care for credit for collecting this content - which was never mine to begin with - I just want it to stay available for fans of the franchise. This won’t exactly give you the live experience of the ARG, but I think it’s a fair approximation, and at least the information won’t be lost.

You start at the bottom of the Home page in the Flynn Lives folder and go from there. Enjoy!

They had to kill Clu 1.0 to set the tone of the film/establish the seriousness of the situation. But also because could you imagine two Flynn’s running around? MCP just explodes from whatever the hell they’d get up too.

Ok I know the instagram comments is generally the place for the worst of humanity to gather but I was looking at some for general news on Tron 3. One about “begging for daft punk” to return etc

Discovered that

1.) a lot of people have no clue Tron 2 was even a thing. Both fans of the original and daft punk fans

2.) a lot of people who had no clue Tron 3 was going to be a thing then expressing imitate disappointment that it’s going to be Leto

3.) rise in concern and confusion when hearing about the plot

Once again I ask… who the fuck is this for?

Definitely not original fans. Maybe legacy fans because the aesthetic remains but that’s a bit risky with the story line. And once again they’re not advertising at all, so like genuinely I ask…
