Chasing Starlight: Chapter 16

Pairing: Poly!Feysand x female!Reader

Summary: After Nyx’s birth, Feyre is seeking to ease her way back into her duties as High Lady and balance her time at the gallery with being a new mother. To ease her mind, she and Rhys have decided to hire a new nanny, who turns out to be far more than either of them had bargained for.

     The weather turns shortly after the festival. Cool, gentle breezes give way to bitter winds roaring off of the mountain peaks. One night, a blanket of dark clouds moves in over the city of starlight. I find myself rising early that morning, well before the first rays of dawn are due to stretch over the city. I move as quietly as I can manage, careful not to wake the couple sleeping behind me. I tug my thin chiffon robe tighter around my body as I head for the balcony overlooking the back garden, drawn out into the night in the way moths flock to a fire.

ignoring how emotionally devastating the episode was I love how once joel accepted he was a Dad again he went from reluctant father figure to full blown dad mode. did not hold back. found ellie’s favorite food and a board game for them to play. took her to the zoo (the giraffe feeding scene). asked her if she was ok in the most gentle way possible. told her stories about sarah. compared her to sarah bc they’re both his daughters. told ellie how proud he was of her / how much he cared for her. opened up. said “we’re going home”. murdered dozens of people for her. brought her on a hike. you know. normal dad stuff

"joel took away ellie's choice"- damn it's almost like he knew they were both gonna just end up killed.. it's almost like he had no choice either and the fireflies were always gonna kill her with or without her knowledge. it's almost like ellie is a child who does not deserve the weight of the world on her shoulders like this. it's almost like her survivors guilt and unresolved trauma is what drives her to feel as if her entire life needs to end to compensate for those she's lost; it's almost like joel indulging ellie's martyrdom is a far worse thing than saving her on the chance she doesn't want to die. it's almost like she genuinely was never in the right conditions to consent to begin with and was never going to have the chance to regardless. idk

i’m actually getting really heated over the responses to harry saying “this doesn’t happen to people like me” over winning his album of the year grammy. because it wasn’t racist or anti-black of him to say. and it’s a weird way to spin it in the first place. it’s something he says it to his crowds every single night of tour. sometimes with tears in his eyes. and he’s right. he was a random little teenage boy just plucked from his home and put into what would become the biggest selling boy band of all time. and now he’s a solo artist winning his first album of the year. so no this doesn’t happen to people like him because he sees himself as just that normal guy who happened to make it big. there was no malicious intent or secret double racist meaning in that statement at all. y’all are just deeply miserable

In August of 2021 I finished reading the mega-hit series: A Court of Thorns and Roses. I love these books, so of course I wanted to stay in Prythian a while longer. I designed a gown for each of the courts and did a little designer world building to go with them. This was a fun project, and I keep meaning to go back and create designs for the men and other key looks.
