Not so much the religious trauma for me, but otherwise same. The one time I have desperately asked her for help, she delivered.

I asked her to bless a charm to help protect a friend's child when she was going through an extremely traumatic time and an emergency move to escape said traumatic situation. My plea was very rushed, the blessing extremely informal, but I did what I could and what felt right in the moment, then rushed to my friend's place. I gave the charm to the kid and told her it held power and would help her feel safe and protected whenever she was afraid. I didn't know if it would do anything or if the kid would even care about it.

I didn't find out until later that it did indeed help the kid feel safe and calmed her whenever she was afraid. She even carries it around with her to this day, months later. It's not proof of anything of course, and could very well just be a placebo effect, but it's good enough for me to be thankful and keep honoring Freya and leaving space for an altar for her.

Everytime I ask Freya for something important: a sign, a good dream, ect. I always think. "This is the moment when I realize this is all in my head." Then low and behold, I'm wrong. Every single time. She always answers me. She is always there, guiding me. She always comes through.

She has helped me heal in so many ways, especially with my religious trauma. The Christian God never answered my calls or pleas, and I have so many wounds from that religion. So much so that no matter how I practice I will NEVER identify as religious or claim a religion.

But Freya has made me realize that there is even a place for me: a person who will never be religious. Even though I will never worship a God, I still deserve love, and respect, and guidance. I'm greatful to her.

This is a gentle reminder that you do not need to confirm to any norm to strengthen your craft. It can be your own unique way, that suits you perfectly. You don't need a deity, you don't need religion. You can have one or the other, or a mixture of both. Just do whatever feels right to you, and thats your way.

I’m back

lmao Hi, I'm back! Unless we're friends on facebook or you commented directly on one of my youtube videos you probably haven't heard much from me over the last few years. Sorry about that. I haven't been inspired to make any AMVs or other content. I got very distracted by Final Fantasy XIV for a couple years and now I'm busy going back to school as a step to get to Germany for further schooling as another step to get to Ireland as my end goal. I've been a bit busy! I will see if I can be active on here again, though, at least.

This Brazilian frog might be the first pollinating amphibian known to science

Nectar-loving tree frog likely moves pollen from flower to flower

The creamy fruit and nectar-rich flowers of the milk fruit tree are irresistible to Xenohyla truncata, a tree frog native to Brazil. On warm nights, the dusky-colored frogs take to the trees en masse, jostling one another for a chance to nibble the fruit and slurp the nectar. In the process, the frogs become covered in sticky pollen grains—and might inadvertently pollinate the plants, too. It’s the first time a frog—or any amphibian—has been observed pollinating a plant, researchers reported last month in Food Webs.

Scientists long thought only insects and birds served as pollinators, but research has revealed that some reptiles and mammals are more than up to the task. Now, scientists must consider whether amphibians are also capable of getting the job done. It’s likely that the nectar-loving frogs, also known as Izecksohn’s Brazilian tree frogs, are transferring pollen as they move from flower to flower, the authors say. But more research is needed, they add, to   confirm that frogs have joined the planet’s pantheon of pollinators.

Been a while

Most of my life updates are mentioned in descriptions of my youtube videos and so has this one a little bit, but I just hopped onto tumblr to check notifications and also say that cheating is one of the worst things you could do in a monogamous relationship (obviously abuse is worse) and I now take back anything nice I’ve said about my boyfriend over the last 6.5 years because apparently it was all a lie, or at least has been for the last 1.5 years since he moved across country, or at least since June. Hard to tell when this seems to be the only topic he refuses to give me any direct answers about. In the last 6.5 years I’ve known him, he’s never been vague about anything until now.

I am never dating again. Dating is stressful as it is and love isn’t worth it when it comes with the potential risk of this much heartache. The main silver lining is that I discovered the truth before we ever commingled funds, or moved in together, or got married. At least, as much of the truth as I can find when he refuses to confirm or deny the cheating but finding out his “friend” is using his last name and listed them both on a baby registry and he's been living part time with her since June is more than a little telling. Especially since he can’t seem to be able to tell me straight up that there’s no baby or that he isn’t in a relationship with her. So I don’t know the full truth of what is going on, but whatever it is, it smells like bullshit, and I know I don’t want to be involved in whatever is going on there.
