'REJECTS is a South Korean co-ed group under ANGELICO Entertainment, debuting on June 12th 2020 with FIVE members. They made their highly anticipated debut with "RAIN ON ME" which was praised and well received by the public for not sounding like a "typical co-ed" group's sound.

The group soon had their first comeback, hoping to profit on the hype of them being "different" from the other co-ed groups they released "TAKE MY LOVE" which was critically panned for being "too cute" though the album sold decently. Many of their fans say this is the "first comeback curse" and often leave it out when talking about the group's discography.

Known as the "damage control" era, the five cameback with a second mini-album, leaning more towards an edgier concept to get back their initial audice. The group came back with "S.W.I.P.E" which became a fan favorite and vent viral on TikTok for it's sound and simplistic dance moves. This was the song that got them the most recognized and most award nominations.

After the death of Sunhee in 2021, the group came back two months later with "SAVAGE" taking on a newer and louder sound, but this would become their most popular comeback to date, nearly snagging them their first music show win.

They closed the year out with "SATURDAY NIGHT" and a full disco-inspired full album. The concept and song performed incredibly well with audiences and skyrocketed their fame through the roof. While this comeback didn't outsell SAVAGE, it still performed well enough for ANGELICO to confirm there will be a repackage of the album coming eventually. The album is nominated for multiple major awards and won them their first-ever music show award. They ended the SATURDAY NIGHT era with FOUR music show wins.

🕰️  ˖   ࣪  εïз ⬦REJECTS MEMBER AIDEN GAINS ATTENTION FOR PRINCE LIKE VISUALS + COMEBACK ANNOUNCEMENT AFTER A YEAR OF INACTIVITY !

AFTER A YEAR OF INACTIVITY, REJECTS were featured on the popular variety show “ANGELTALK” which is hosted by a rotating lineup of ANGELICO artists. This week, VENUS member Aki hosted the episode which had the co-ed group featured on it.

Each REJECTS member sported a new hairstyle and a bubbly personality, updating fans on what they’ve been doing and how excited they are to be back as a group. 

“During our break, we got a new manager and a new dorm. They’re taking us in a new creative director,” REJECTS leader, Miyu, tells as she sports her new orange hair. “They almost changed our name! But Jinhwa said it would be too expensive…I don’t believe him but I am excited for our new sound.”

Many fans noted this was the most talkative Miyu has been since debut, bringing up how she was smiling the whole interview and seemed to be enjoying herself a lot more than she usually was.

“We had a lot of time for healing. We all needed healing,” Aiden explains with his new look that has had Twitter in flames this evening. “We just want to thank all our fans for waiting so patiently for us. We’ve missed you as much as you missed us and we have…a lot coming! Just wait a little longer!” Due to his English speaking skills, kind voice, and prince like visuals, REJECTS and Aiden began trending on Twitter.

With their popularity at an all time high, the comeback teasers were posted just a day after their appearance on ANGELTALK, garnering the most attention since their debut. Many were talking about the summery visuals and cute sound.

Jieun’s relationship with Sunhee was strained. Jieun can be quoted as saying: “She was jealous of me. She wanted to ruin any chance of popularity I ever got. She didn’t like competition. I was competition so she didn’t like me. I wanted to be her friend but she just wanted to ruin me.”

On the night of Sunhee’s death, She and Reid were seen on CCTV footage leaving a shopping center at 3 AM with gasoline and gloves. When further pressed on the matter, Jieun said it was because the group was planning a bonfire that weekend. The gloves were never found. While this was deemed suspicious, nothing else could be done about it.

Jieun’s official statement to the police about the last time she saw Sunhee reads: “She and Iseul went out to a club in Seoul. I don’t know what time. I was asleep by the time they got back. She was wearing a black dress. That’s all I remember.”

Jieun was supposed to debut as a new member of SE4SONS even having promo shots posted on the official SE4SONS SNS accounts. Soon, allegations of her being a violent bully. The allegations were backed with photographic proof and even documents of the incident. While these allegations were later deleted and completely wiped from the internet, they were never confirmed or denied. Though many people see Jieun getting removed from the SE4SONS lineup as confirmation it happed and the company was just ignoring it.

Jieun has only spoken once on the matter, saying: “You don’t know me or what happened. Stop bringing it up or my company will take legal action.”

— HISTORY.

Originally hailing from BigHit Entertainment as one of their most promising trainees, Sunhee participated and ranked in the top five of BigHit’s first survival show, Cherry Luv! allowing her to make her long awaited debut in 2016. She debuted in BigHit’s first girl group, Cheri, as their main dancer and lead vocalist. The group didn’t last long, disbanding only six months after their debut and Sunhee’s contract with BigHit being dissolved. It’s still up in the air why Cheri was disbanded so early especially due to their seemingly growing success. Many speculate Sunhee’s reckless behavior got the group in hot water with the company and caused their disbandment. 

After four years of additional training, Sunhee finally redebuted, making her the last member of Cheri to officially re-enter the industry. Just as quick as she came back into the industry, she was out of it once again. Tragically, Sunhee’s body was found burned and wrapped in multiple blankets in an undisclosed location. 

The autopsy said her cause of death was homicide, later clarified to be a blow to the head. This resulted in a full investigation into her death with her group-mates and CEO, Son Jinhwa, as prime suspects. After three months of investigating the group and CEO, the police found no sufficient evidence against them and cleared them, though many remain suspicious of them and believe they are connected to Sunhee’s death somehow. 

A private funeral was held for Sunhee with only family and friends attending.

Their debut was highly anticipated due to the high production value of the teasers and three of the members already having had debuted in the industry once before. The original line up consisted of SUNHEE, MIYU, AIDEN, JIEUN, and REID. 

Sunhee was once a member of infamous BigHit girl group CHERI in 2016 before being the leader of REJECTS. Miyu had been a member of the only JPOP girl group ANGELICO had ever produced, BLISSKISS, which had been disbanded in 2018. Aiden being a member of failed produce group X1 after ranking third on his season of produce, leaving only Jieun and Reid as the only members who hadn’t previously debuted.

After a successful first year in the industry, winning multiple rookie awards and coming close to winning multiple music show awards, the group was struck with tragedy in early 2021 when it was announced that leader Sunhee had be tragically KILLED and an investigation into her death was on going.

Many people have suspected the remaining four members were somehow involved in her death due to their weird behavior afterwards, but ANGELICO has promptly denied this, threatening legal action on anyone who even suggests this.

After brief hiatus, the group officially came back as FOUR with MIYU taking the position as leader.

It was no secret her and Sunhee didn’t get along. The pair could barely even keep it civil on camera let alone in the privacy of their own dorm. The pair often argued and fought over line distribution and Sunhee’s “unfavorable” behavior. Despite this, she was emotional at the funeral, needing Aiden to keep her from falling over. Many saw this reaction odd and uncharacteristic. 

Miyu’s official statement to the police about the last time she saw Sunhee reads: “The last time I saw Sunhee was at 10 PM on Saturday. She said she was going out to meet a man. We argued over that because I was worried about her always going out and meeting strange men. She left and I never saw her again.”

Miyu originally debuted in 2016 in ANGELICO’s only JPOP group, BLISSKISS, as their main dancer and visual. BLISSKISS was not successful in Japan, falling under the radar and never really gaining traction in Japan. They were deemed a failure by ANGELICO and were officially disbanded in 2018 with only three singles to their name.

After Sunhee’s passing, she took the position of leader. The group says she’s a natural leader.. While she is close to all the members, it’s obvious her and Aiden have a special bond and are the closest.
