This was two nights ago, on June 1st. I was chosen for the puppet show. Something that I knew was going to happen due to where my seat was. I originally thought of being like "I'm 24.", but I instead just nodded to Justin when he asked if I wanted to see a sad puppet show.

I don't regret it.

I know that this is the Beetlejuice blog, but I went to see Sweeney Todd last night, and two things, 1: oh my god, what a show and 2: While I have not listened to the full thing the audio I took came out amazing.

#I will be posting it at a later date along with Into The Woods and the Beetlejuice audio I took back in January #This audio is the best out of my three in terms of sound quality #You can hear Dialouge and songs perfectly

I'm so glad that when I went to see Beetlejuice, my audience cheered during Adam and Barbara's kiss, cause let me tell ya when I'm watching a boot or listening to an audio and no one cheers I am intnerally like: 😡

But the fact that Seymour, Audrey and Beetlejuice share so much in common trauma wise is making me go berserk.

Y'all they would have SUCH a good and complex dynamic.

It would be about the healing (or maybe all three of them would make each other better and worse at the same time) and having someone who understands and also Beetlejuice would get to go feral over Orin (and Mushnik to a lesser extent)

My main idea so far is that the story would be in the main pov of Audrey and Beetlejuice and Audrey ends up being able to see him at some point and she agrees to say his name 3 times at Orin's office (Seymour is also there like normal) and bye bye Orin.

I just thought of a Little Shop Of Horrors and Beetlejuice crossover AU and this only happened because I remembered how similar Audrey and Seymour are to Barbara and Adam in terms of their love and support towards one another.

So now I'm like "Okay, but what if Little Shop Of Horrors had Beetlejuice in it? How would he act around Audrey and Seymour? Also the giant plant and Orin are still there."

Anyways I have IDEAS

#I'm currently gifting and trading with a lot of people on reddit #don't really want to have to tell people a bunch of times that ''no. i cannot give you this recording.'' and then explain why #so i might hold off on adding it to my list for now #despite having other current nft boots on my list

A few things of note in the article:

1. We now know that it was a run-in with Sandy that caused Alex’s concussion. So glad that he says that he didn’t feel obligated to come back, but only came back when he felt well enough and got the all-clear from doctors.

2. I love that after all this time, he still isn’t tired of the show and always found ways to mix it up and try new things with the character.

3. While there are no plans for a West End run (yet), he has the right of first refusal for the role and would consider going overseas for a U.K. run.

4. It sounds like he’s taking a break from performing and focusing on writing ventures, at least for a while. I personally think this is a great thing. Like he says in the article, he’s been working nonstop for a decade and a half, so I understand being “Broadway-ed out”.

With that being said, I certainly hope last night was not the last time we see Alex Brightman on Broadway. One, because he is one of the most talented and hard-working performers of his generation, but also because he still deserves his damn Tony.

Anyways, everyone in this cast deserves a break after the craziness of this year (and the past few years if we’re being honest), but I’m just so happy we got a little feature for our favorite demon before closing night. 💚💜
