Shard disappeared years and years ago on a mission and never returned. He was presumed dead. Dozens of years later Chip finds a gruesome discovery. Now he wonders if it is even possible to bring what remains back online.

Peek at the future:  In a far future Chip is now alone. The world has gone to ruin thanks to Dr. Eggman’s clone and its reign of terror on the planet. Soon to reach the bleak future past Silver has foretold. Shard disappeared years ago never returning from a mission and presumed dead. Years have passed and all but memories of our current hero’s remain. After a raid on the old underground hideout that used to be his home Nicole was all but destroyed. Now the only ‘living’ or ‘functioning’ remains of her’s are stored in a memory file of Chip. She exists in his programming and can appear before him in small compact form only. Nicole is unable to exist outside of Chip’s hardware. During his travels through the burnt remains of the planet Chip came across a curious silver baby hedgehog who had somehow survived the chaos. Unable to locate its parents or any suitable home, he stays with Chip for the meantime.

Nicole, have you considered varying from your default hologram projection? For example, appearing more metallic like Shard?

Nicole: I think appearing more metallic when so many of our friends have suffered injuries and have  been forced to have robotic limbs would appear as an insult and perhaps upset some people? Besides I have picked this form myself and I am very happy with who I am.
