as far as everyone was concerned. percy had a year left to live in tbotl. and i know that we didn't see what that like for him because it didn't matter plot-wise. but i would have loved to read it. give me percy who is hardly speaking up at the dinner table. half-asleep and behind on last week's homework. give me percy who is clearly losing the will to live and trudging around the apartment like he doesn't care where his feet takes him. give me percy who is sneaking out of the house and visiting montauk. sitting along the beachside shore. wondering why his only purpose in life is that of a soldier and not of a kid.

Please keep drawing traffic/hermit hybrids inaccurately because who cares, they look cool

I say this as an animal nerd, I love to implement biologically/anatomically accurate elements into hybrid designs where applicable, but Im not gonna ususally choose to do that over whatever I think looks visually appealing. I have my gripes and peeves with some popular hybrid design headcanons, but ultimately, please keep drawing them however you want to, because you can (and to piss haters off further, for fun)

Don't care if you headcanon Pearl as transfem, draw her with male moth antennae anyway. Don't care if avian Grian logically needs a second set of pectoral muscles, just slap those wings on there wherever you want. Gem's own skin featured antlers and female deer don't even grow them, aside from reindeers, which I'm willing to wager was not what Gem was thinking or cared about. Keep drawing her with huge antlers

I don't know who needs this reminder but these are fantasy hybrids. Our inspirations in drawing them are based in reality but no fucking avian or hooved or dog people exist. A person with huge moth wings isn't realistic to begin with so who cares if you give her some antennae too. If you do you need to get a hobby

Who do you think is the big spoon? Percy or Annabeth?

i don’t think they have like, an official big spoon. they both would cuddle the other. i can see annabeth always waking up at night and if percy is facing the other way, she just throws a leg over his hip or in between his legs and cuddles him from behind. but i do think percy is the big spoon 80% of the time, not just because he’s bigger and taller, but because in the books, annabeth always feels the most safe and loved when she’s in his arms. she says so herself. that’s why she always reaches for him when she’s upset, and has all her big breakdowns when he’s holding her. she craves to be held by him. (remember in the stables when she told him “just shut up and hold me, seaweed brain” lol). percy has always had lots of hugs and cuddles from sally, but annabeth never got that from her parents. she’s extremely touch starved. so on an emotional level, she just needs to be held more. and percy loves having her in his arms and knowing she’s safe.

growing up is realizing that rachel was exactly who percy needed in that period of his life. because she knew enough about the demigod world that percy could confide in her about the responsibilities as the prophecy kid. but was also separate enough from the demigod world that she never placed him on a pedestal or pitied him for it. she never looked at him like he was a dead man walking. or expected him to become something more than himself to get the job done. say what you want about their relationship. but no one. not sally. not paul. not poseidon. not chiron. not grover. and definitely not annabeth. could have been for percy what rachel was for him.

anti percabeths calling the judo flip scene abuse is so so weird to me bc they literally grew in a camp to fight monsters. they spar each other all the time. also, you can easily judo flip someone without hurting them, its actually a thing u learn pretty early on.

i know for a fact that they do stuff like this all the time, especially when they’re sparring. you think percy doesn’t kick her legs out from under her and watch her fall on her ass and throw his head back laughing?? (until she gets him back, and then they’re both laughing)

i think people also forget that demigods don’t feel pain like us or get hurt as easily. if they did, they’d all be dead. like how many times have giants and monsters THROWN them into concrete walls, head first? they don’t get hurt from stuff like this. simply being flipped onto the ground doesn’t freaking hurt them. especially percy

percy thought it was funny and sweet. people need to move on. if they really cared about percy so much, they would realize how not big of a deal it was
