for those that missed the update last night bc i posted it at midnight: we're now 1 1/2 away from being caught up!

im gonna be Busy this upcoming week so its gonna be a while before 3/27 is done, but seeing as Rubyco seems to be winding up for something big now's probably a good time to catch up with everything that's happened with tViking and tRuby so far. woo!

Twitch SMP Lore Transcript Masterpost!

welcome to the cozy town of Aquarium Gravel! we've got time loops, alternate reality selves, eldritch horrors, places that Should Not Be, possession, cool item symbolism, things pretending to human that very much are not, and a guy that hallucinates scarecrows talking to him.

as someone with a burning drive to analyze as much lore as i can get my hands on, as well as someone who has trouble tracking down specific clips in hours-long VODs to back up my analyses, i decided to start transcribing VikingPilot and Rubyco's lore!

this is a bit of a massive undertaking, and there are likely going to be mistakes due to length. shoutouts to Rubyco and ghostsgone for the help on this project!

right now this only covers Viking and Ruby's plotline - if other people want to transcribe the lore streams from the other Aquarium Gravel members i 100% encourage it because everybody's got a really cool story to tell! however, i have given myself one heck of a workload, so i don't think it's in the cards for me. i would love to see it though

this post will be updated as more transcripts are finished! in the meantime, here's what we have so far!

Mar 4 - Time and Space / The Clocktower - Viking and Ruby find a clocktower and get more questions than answers. tore through the transcript of what happened with Fiv and OHHHH MAN. THESE SIBLINGS. these siblings are gonna be the death of me. and Fiv has SUCH COOL LORE im excited and terrified to see where these guys are gonna take their stories next

I KNOW RIGHT??? ohhhh my god. its killing me that im not able to fully document fiv's lore bc there is SO MUCH that is SO COOL. his interactions with box and jay especially. tFiv and tJay have wildly different views of each other and it kills me

on my hands and knees sobbing bc of tViking and tRuby. viking continuing to go "everything is fine! im okay!" while ruby is having constant panic attacks at the thought of being anything like sapphire. and viking Trying to be supportive in his own way-- switching from seeing fiv as a threat bc of them being an unknown variable to trying to help and reassure him and the playful bickering with ruby when theyre hugging fiv and aaaaaaa . cries

when a wall's already buckling under strain, it doesn't take much for it to shatter. Viking's just hoping he's not the one that breaks first.

Also, I know I just sent an ask but it’s fine so shush! Have you ever considered just how much TViking pushes off dealing with, like, mentally? How many times he’s just basically gone “Now we don’t have time to unpack all that”? When is it going to get unpacked? At what point does it just start forcing itself open, forcing him to start finally dealing with all the things he’s tried to bury?

tViking is that john mulaney bit with "ill carry all of that right here and one day i'll die" :,D

but like, the thing with running from your problems is they always catch up to you eventually from unexpected angles. he can try all he wants, but he's not getting out of this unscathed.

Thinking about how Viking was muted so it’s almost like we could hear his thoughts. Hear how he knows Ruby is scared and he’s scared too but it’s time to start doing things scared but that’s the biggest hurdle to cross for him right now. Learning how to say when he’s scared. Learning to admit that he doesn’t hold all the answers.

the more insight we get into how tViking works, the more he's just.. he's trying. he's not built for this, but he's trying. he's starting to deviate from his set path and now that he's at a crossroads, it's now or never. they need to make the choice, and he's ready to go all-in no matter the risks.

..but he doesn't tell ruby that. ruby tells him theyre scared of dying, and viking calls it for the night. the words remain unsaid: you won't die. i won't let you.

other fun thing from 3/21: tJay followed ruby, viking, and fiv to the clocktower. he didnt go in, but fiv saw him at the entrance to the cave and jay confirmed in chat that the tJay sighting was lore so. UM.

things ive noticed while rewatching the 3/21 lore streams:

viking had his evil monologue in the clocktower cave?? hello????

obviously ruby has a panic attack in the clocktower but viking is also a bit rattled ("I'm okay, I'm okay, I'm okay" after getting ruby out)

after fiv explains why viking getting in his personal space is part of why they dont like him, viking tries to respect it and shoves ruby away from fiv a couple times when he thinks she's stressing them out

viking saying he needs to Talk To Someone after fiv explains time maybe getting screwed up because of pisces being gone

ruby generally having trouble keeping up with the others + relying on his healing potion a Lot. and then giving it to viking at the end. ruby :(

viking and ruby going super fast from "we need to punt fiv" to "we need to protect fiv" after finding out he is A Thirty Thousand Year Old Traumatized Baby. fiv gets adopted for real

ruby's constant panic whenever sapphire comes up / whenever they think sapphire might get some kind of Advantage. originally writes "at any point in time" in the revised fiv favor before freaking out and erasing it

probably a matter of Fun Freecam Camera Angles / him disappearing around a corner, but viking ends his segment by flying in the direction of the clocktower tunnel

Ruby: I cannot give in to this fear, I— I don’t wanna… lose you. Not like this. [pause] Not again. Viking: [muted] Well, unless you have a better answer… I think it’s time. I think we need to move- move forward with whatever we’re gonna do, ‘cause we can’t just keep sitting on the bank of the river. [small laugh] Even if it is made of lava, it’s time to jump in.

this is maybe my fav tRuby & tViking conversation so far and it kills me that viking was muted during this. goddamnit
