the idea that restrooms, locker rooms, etc need to be single-sex spaces in order for women to be safe is patriarchy's way of signalling to men & boys that society doesn't expect them to behave themselves around women. it is directly antifeminist. it would be antifeminist even if trans people did not exist. a feminist society would demand that women should be safe in all spaces even when there are men there.

its genuinely fascinating that some people want to pretend like theres not a problem in fandom/media of a massive preference for male characters. like objectively its not good, thats why theres been such a push for well written fully realized female characters in media nowadays, i mean you look back the amount of shows/movies with (almost) entirely male casts is kind of stunning. a single token female character whos idk killed for the male protags story. representation matters, just bc its just "women" doesnt mean writing stories about women doesnt matter.

But yeah this is how I feel about people who claim that female creators with a myriad of female characters “can’t write women” when they in fact have a variety of female characters with backstories and motivation and personality and relationships and flaws and skills. But nooo it’s the writers fault you don’t like them. Either you don’t like the character archetypes or you don’t like women. Quit blaming other people for your internalized issues.

Can’t wait to publish my own comic which has like, one male character per arc, and be told there aren’t any women.

i dont think fandom people who only think about male characters and only create content for male characters are like horrible misogynists but i do think they often have some shit they need to unpack. like how can you , for example, play life is strange and the only thing you come away with from that is you want nathan and warren to fuck nasty. how can you watch birds of prey, and the only thing you come away with from that is you want roman and victor to fuck nasty......... like idk! idk! i just find it strange especially when people will engage with media Specifically about women and then put no effort in to empathize or care about them, sometimes even going far enough to say they HATE the female characters and that theyre bitches... IDK!!!!
