★۰*. HOT ISSUE is the first extended play released by fictional girl group Bad Girls Club. The EP features 5 songs, two being title tracks, one being a pre-release single, and the final two being side tracks. The EP did well, exploring a new concept for the girls, retro futurism and old Hollywood. The albums contents including the music itself, was criticised due to provocative imagery and sexual innuendos through out it. With this, the members who are very well known to clap back and respond to such criticism, simply kept silent and continued promoting with no regard to it. Both title tracks gained a lovely amount of music show wins, Up&Down earning 9 while Superlady earned a total of 7. Despite the criticism faced, domestically and internationally the EP thrived and is seen as one of the girls most memorable releases in their career.

the concept explores themes of Old Hollywood, Retro Futurism, & Vintage Horror.

The most popular looks and scenes amongst the stages and music video, tend to follow the Old Hollywood concept.

Many fans pointed out the references to Old Hollywood movies, and the trendy + luxurious sets they filmed in for the Warm Hole music video.

But their Retro Futuristic theme didn’t go unnoticed, many fans pointed out how well they executed it in the Up&Down music video.

The Superlady music video was mainly story line based, following the story of 7 girls seducing then implied to be killing him at the end. They used both the Old Hollywood + Future Retroistic concept while also focusing on a Vintage Horror concept.

— HAUTE PINK is a fictional K-pop girl group under Flowerbank Entertainment. Haute Pink originally started as a predebut project titled "Runway Trainees" and was overseen by Bahng Taeu, known as his brainchild. The trainee group would start in 2017 with ten models turned trainees: FAME, HAILEY, JAMIE, ISEO, JOSIE, YUNA, XIYU, JAZ, BINGBING, and SKY. The entire purpose of the project was to form a group based around models turned idols with every girl in the project having a background in modeling.

Despite this original vision, Runway Trainees would silently fall apart nearly all the models leaving Flowerbank unceremoniously either to return to modeling, go into acting, or debut under other lesser known companies. Josie, Fame, and Hailey would be the only remaining members of Runway Trainees to stay under Flowerbank Entertainment.

Even with the original lineup falling through, Taeu would not give up on his original vision. The stars seemed to align with Bighit darlings Yebin and Yui left their disintegrating group HoneyBunch, Kim Misun left Angelico and signed to Flowerbank, and Josie just made it into the now coveted girl group IZ*ONE, bringing all the girls together for a perfect storm. Taeu would make the controversial decision to take this unlikely bunch and put them in one group. Deciding not to wait for Josie to debut the group he's been working tirelessly on for two years, Haute Pink would be born.

Haute Pink would begin promoting their debut in the spring, all the girls walking in multiple runway shows across the globe before making their official debut on December 7th, 2019 with the full album "Haute Pink." and title track "It's Haute." which would instantly catch the attention of netizens worldwide.

Never knowing failure, the group's notoriety would only grow with the disbandment of IZ*ONE, and the long-awaited and teased addition of Josie would finally come to fruition. Josie would officially debut with Haute Pink just a month after IZ*ONE's disbandment in 2021 with the mini album "Haute Arrival" and the title track "Hawt Hues." met with instant success as usual.

After a instagram live by Bad Girls Club maknae, Tiara, was translated, rumors spread throughout online communities of another full album comeback, directly after their first one in July of 2023. Fans grew excited, sharing the live and making guesses about what the album could be like, as they confirmed a comeback at their New Years concert. Yesterday, on January 12th, all of the official Bad Girls Club accounts posted a teaser officially announcing the girls next comeback, “HOT ISSUE” which will be taking place in February. After this, fans assumed it would be for the “full album” mentioned on the instagram live, but much to their disappointment, today a post announcing the groups first Extended Play was announced instead.

Fans grew more confused, only for the member who mentioned the full album to come to her instagram story explaining it was simply ‘a mistranslation’ and that she had not stated such things on the live. Despite this, Korean fans took to social media to inform non-Korean speakers that she did infact say that, and she is lying on her story. While this created a mess of a situation, member Megan replied to a commenter on her instagram post, requesting people stop making a huge deal out of a simple mistake. Later on, both Taehee & Sanghee went on a livestream. In the livestream, the girls discussed the situation, Sanghee defending the groups maknae; “We’re preparing a later album right now…She made a mistake, yeah, but it happens. She shouldn’t have lied about it, that’s all.”

Fans appreciated the clarification and complimented Sanghee for her unusual maturity in the situation. Tiara later posted a short apology, stating she was just a bit “flustered by the situation.” Despite the messy situations Bad Girls Club always tend to find themselves in, the comeback is becoming a huge topic of conversation amongst fans, and many are looking forward to the upcoming teasers!

Making their grand debut on MAY 17TH, 2018 with the single album WONDERLAND'S HYMN and title track of the same name, Merveilles immediately cemented themselves as a one-of-a-kind act among other competition at the time. The whimsical and dreamy instrumental accompanied with the light lyrics drew fans into the wonderland that Merveilles created, the song setting the base of what was to come from the girls. The song managed to get them their 1st win the first day on the scene, their group being the 1st to do such under the label.

Kicking off their proper start to music, the group would release their first mini album LILLIES IN THE VALLEY with the title track CLOUD HI. Not only did this become an instant hit internationally but it became a domestic favorite of South Korea with the song often being heard playing in cafes, malls, and salons. It accumulated 5 wins and made it onto Billboard Top 100 at #9, staying on the charts for 219 days. Cloud Hi was nominated for Best Girl Group Song but fell short of winning.

2019 then popped off with MÈLANGE and its track DITTO'S RIDDLE that quickly became the anthem of the new year. The song went on to chart #1 on various platforms while also earning them 9 wins across different music shows. Many Wishes believe that Ditto's Riddle solidified the girls among the top 3rd gen girl groups but others would argue otherwise.

The third mini album to be released, MOONLIGHT IN A GLASS JAR was an era that's considered to be one of Merveilles' top 5 best ones to date. The girls, while keeping their dreamy concept, took on a more "mature" approach yet didn't cross any lines that erased their overall look. COSMO'S TEMPTATION, while being a classic, only garnered 5 wins altogether and is considered to be a forgetful song among their discography.

THE ALLEGORY OF: US was the first studio album created by Merveilles and it is deemed their best album to date. HEARTBREAK IN SPRING would break not only their previous records but the company's in total with the number of units being sold surpassing 971,000 in just a week of pre-sales alone. The album nearly got an all-kill but fell a bit short though the achievements made were enough to make up for it. It peaked #2 and stayed on the charts for 218 days.

Shortly after, Ideal would put out the repackage album THE HEART'S DILEMMA and its title track LOVE ME, LOVE ME NOT that became an instant hit across social media. The song was most notably used on videos with ships from other medias that had a "tom and jerry" relationship, or a pull and pull dynamic, soon leading non kpop stans into Merveilles and kpop in general. With both albums accounted for, this era accumulated 13 wins in total.

2021 was when Ideal began going with a new formula for Merveilles, introducing double a-sides that would be promoted for 3 weeks each. The first product to follow this format would be TO CATCH AN ORANGE BUTTERFLY and its title tracks SHYGUY and I LIKE YOU! Shyguy was promoted from April to late May and gathered 9 wins while I like you! went on to have 8 wins. Wishes and kpop stans alike will often describe the mini album as "the songs of the summer." To Catch An Orange Butterfly would later go on to win Album of the Year at MAMA and earn them their Best Girl Group award.

Keeping the momentum going, STILL LIFE was the next mini album to release with the dual tracks OVER THE SKYLINES and HOME IS WHERE... This mini album was often divided among fans as most of the songs sounded too familiar to one another with some Wishes even going as far as to ask which song is which. Other Wishes argued that the was the entire point of the album as a way to create familiarity that matched the theme of the album. Not to mention, this was the time where Sein would have to sit out of activities due to health issues. Regardless, it's one of their less notable comebacks, the tracks altogether getting 4 wins.

CHERRY BLOSSOM EPIPHANY was the 2nd studio album to be produced for Merveilles. Similarly to their dual a-sides, the full length albums would promote 3 tracks for 4 weeks each with those being: BLOSSOMS IN BLOOM, DESTINY'S LIE, and LET ME LOVE YOU. Each song charted on Billboard Top 100 with the ranks respectively being 1st, 3rd, and 10th. Blossoms In Bloom was the only track to receive an all-kill status, soon leading to the girls to sweep at MAMA and MELON MUSIC AWARDS in 2022. With all tracks accounted for, this album received 21 wins in total.

2022 was a busy year for the group as they released their 6ith mini album ONCE UPON A TIME with the tracks SLEEPING BEAUTY and ROSE IN A GLASS VASE. The concept this time around centered Disney princesses and fairytales and the public adored every performance. However, it was growing clear that the girls were being overworked and exhausted prior to the release, Wishes then deciding to boycott the album. The songs gathered 3 wins in total and the sales were arguably the lowest in Ideal history having a little under 104,000 units sold. Because of this, Ideal issued out an apology and promised to give the girls more breaks.

Then 2023 happened and none of those promises were kept. Merveilles released their 3rd studio album HAPPILY EVER AFTER in May and promoted the three a-sides 12 O'CLOCK, AND THEY LIVED..., and TRUE LOVE'S FIRST KISS back to back with little breaks. Despite the protest last time, fans were too invested with the concept and songs to simply ignore it. Out of all the songs, 12 O'Clock is considered the biggest "sneak" in the album due to the odd instrumentals but it soon became a cult classic among fans. Every song was an instant hit and were battling for the #1 spots for almost 310 days. The girls would end their year off in 2023 at Lotte World but not before hinting at their next concepts by dressing up as their favorite Disney villains as a challenge.

˚ ༘♡ “Why are you here…?” Cloe muttered, her gaze fixed on the brunette standing ominously at her doorstep. The air around her seemed to hum with exhaustion, a fact that Cloe couldn't ignore. She studied the older girl: one hand carelessly tucked into the pocket of her sweatpants, the other propped against the door frame. There was a strong tension in the air, the silence between them growing by the second. Her hair was damp, falling over her face as she looked up to make eye contact with the other. Cloe felt her throat tighten, becoming slightly nervous due to the silence.

“I’m sorry.” Sanghee blurted out, eyes growing softer. Cloe tilted her head, eyes widening.

Cloe's heart skipped a beat as she heard Sanghee's apology. The unexpected words hung in the air, creating a moment of confusion. Is she being serious? Cloe's eyes narrowed, her gaze burning into Sanghee. Sanghee shifted uncomfortably, her presence beginning to feel unwelcomed and irritating. Cloe's silence was filled with an unspoken hostility, making it clear that she resented Sanghee's sudden appearance. Sanghee began to regret her own decision to visit Cloe's apartment, feeling the weight of the animosity radiating from the younger girl.

“Sanghee what is this about? Seriously don’t play with me right now. We’re not five…why are you actually here?” Cloe's voice grew stern as she crossed her arms and asked again, her gaze fixed on Sanghee. In that moment, Sanghee's eyes wandered down, her mind racing to find the right words to express her feelings. As Cloe shifted slightly, her pastel pink tank top revealed a sliver of her stomach, intensifying Sanghee's nervousness. Sanghee quickly averted her gaze back to Cloe's face, her throat clearing in an attempt to regain composure. Straightening up, she took a deep breath, bracing herself for what she was about to say.

“Seriously, I’m sorry. I mean I’ve been thinking about every thing going on between us and I feel horrible. I…I was horrible. It’s harder to admit out loud but…I think I’ve been too hard on you and I just— I want to fix things. Really this time.” Sanghee apologized, awkwardly running a hand through her hair. Cloe gulped at the sight, was she always this attractive?

“I appreciate it?” She mumbled, quickly readjusting herself, “I mean…it’s not that I don’t appreciate it— I just don’t know if that’s the right way to word it…thank you for apologizing. I’m sorry too, I should work on myself I guess.” With a palpable tension hanging in the air, Cloe managed to reciprocate the apology. Her arms fell limply to her sides as she cast her gaze around the room, a small attempt to disguise the unease creeping into her mind. Quickly, she shifted from her spot, her hand trembling slightly as it reached for the door, inching it open in a silent invitation. “You wanna…come in?”

Sanghee felt her heart beat out of her chest.

“Yeah, yeah that’s cool.” She sputtered, joining the girl in her small apartment.

“It’s weird living alone, I can’t wait to get back to the dorms…” Cloe inquired, taking the girl into her living room after she slipped her shoes off.

“I know, I’m staying with my sister so it doesn’t feel too different. I just miss everyone I guess” Sanghee stated, awkwardly standing beside the couch as Cloe plopped down. She eyed the standing girl, a small smirk forming, as she let out a giggle. “What?”

“Why so awkward? I invited you in for a reason, make yourself at home” Cloe patted the empty space on the sofa beside her, inviting Sanghee to sit. Sanghee complied, sinking into the couch. “So…what made you wanna apologize exactly?”

“Just…instinct? I guess I just knew I was wrong the whole time, you just left before I could tell you…” Sanghee recited, lying straight through her teeth. It was your face. That’s what she wanted to say.

“Really? That was it? There was no like…special moment?” Cloe sighed, tilting her head.

“It’s so cute when you do that.” Sanghee observed, tilting her head in the same direction. Cloe felt her cheeks heat up the slightest bit.

“Do— what?” She stammered, titling her head a bit more.

“That. The little head tilt.” Sanghee stated, a small smile forming.

“Shut up.” Cloe thought, her heart pounding in her chest. The realization hit her like a ton of bricks, leaving her feeling both shocked and oddly elated. She shook her head, smiling to herself, “anyways, back to what I asked?”

“Right, why did you ask that, exactly?” she questioned. Cloe pondered for a moment.

“That’s what happened to me.” She stated.

“Oh?”

“I just remembered…that I started it? I was purposely pissing you off. So in the end, it was my fault.” Cloe collected herself, readjusting to sit on her knees, facing Sanghee. Sanghee leaned in a bit closer, getting comfortable on the sofa.

“It kind of was. I should’ve controlled my temper though, I was so mean to you after all…” Sanghee mumbled, eyes drifting off to the ceiling.

“Yeah you were kind of mean, I was too though? It was a pretty heated argument. I don’t know how I kept composure. Actually I don’t know how you didn’t smack me!” Cloe chuckled.

Sanghee’s smile was a soft one, almost imperceptible, as she took in the sound of Cloe's laughter. Her gaze returned to the girl, the lighthearted giggle echoing in the silence between them. She sighed, “I feel like shit every time we fight, I couldn’t smack you when you were like that.”

“Like what?” Cloe pondered, eyebrows furrowing.

“You looked so…so sad? Your eyes, that’s what made me snap out of it. At the end. Right before you left.” Sanghee recalled, crossing her arms over her chest.

“What’s so special about my eyes?” Cloe questioned, Sanghee then sat up. She turned to face the younger girl, taking a moment to gaze into her eyes. Cloe felt a swarm of butterflies in her stomach, almost enough to make her nauseous. What the hell is happening?

“They looked so emotionless…like you had gone on autopilot but in real life.” Sanghee mentioned. The two were now rather close, faces awfully close to one another. Yet neither of them noticed.

“It felt like it.” Cloe mumbled. Eyes wandering every where but into Sanghee’s. Sanghee simply continued to study her face. The way her nose scrunches a bit when she smiles, the way her faint freckles are a bit more prominent under the dim yellow light of her apartment.

"Did you feel lonely as a child, Sanghee?" Cloe whispered the words almost silently, her voice hushed. She was nervous, wanting to open up to Sanghee and hoping to establish a connection with her. Despite denying it, she always felt uncomfortably similar to the older brunette. Strikingly similar.

As Cloe looked up, the silence causing her some anxiety, a spark of recognition passed between them. Sanghee's voice softened as she spoke, "Yeah. When I was a kid, I spent most days alone because my mom worked a shit load. I had a friend who would come over, and we would sing and dance all day," she reminisced, feeling a wave of nostalgia, "She was my company. But she moved away.”

Cloe couldn't help but feel a sense of relief and comfort wash over her. Sanghee's words unlocked a hidden part of Cloe, stirring up a mix of emotions. In that moment, she realized that she wasn't alone in her feelings of loneliness and longing for connection. Yet, memories of her lonely childhood flooded her mind, evoking a negative feeling, a strong instinctive feeling that she wanted to forget. Despite the connection she felt with Sanghee, Cloe remained silent, unable to rid her fear of vulnerability. The room fell into a suffocating silence, heavy with unspoken words. The tension grew, as if the weight of their unshared truths couldn't be contained. It was a deafening silence, filled with the desire to bridge the gap between them, yet paralysed by uncertainty.

“I hope you know I didn’t mean all those things I said…I mean, you’re not a complete bitch, and it’s not true that everyone hates you.” Sanghee clarified, breaking the silence with a shift in topic. Cloe scoffed, staring down into her lap where her hands settled.

“I find that hard to believe, I would hate me too. Who wouldn’t?” Cloe voiced, Her eyes darted up to meet Sanghee's gaze as her hand delicately grazed her cheek. Similar to the other night, yet strikingly different. There was no hint of condescension this time, no trace of taunting. It was a touch filled with an unexpected gentleness, and it sent a shiver down her spine, the tension between them only thickening.

“I don’t.” Sanghee's words were barely above a whisper. The gap between their faces diminished to an almost nonexistent distance, a mere gust of wind could have caused their lips to brush together. Sanghee could feel Cloe's breath, soft and hesitant, on her skin as her gaze landed on Cloe's lips.

"Yeah?" Cloe breathed out, her voice filled with uncertainty and anticipation.

"Yeah," Sanghee confirmed, her smirk playing on her lips like a hushed promise. Instead of closing the distance, she pulled back abruptly, leaning against the armrest of the sofa, leaving a unnatural tension in the air. Cloe paused to catch her breath, feeling as if she were in a dream, as if her consciousness had conjured a blur that didn't truly happen. Yet, that wasn't the case. Her cheeks flushed a dusty shade of pink when she accepted this reality.

“I don’t wanna overstay my visit, so I should get back home, shouldn’t I?” Sanghee spoke, her tone low, almost driving Cloe insane. Cloe shifted a bit, avoiding eye contact with the older brunette.

“Yeah…you could come over again…” Cloe suggested, rubbing the back of her neck. “I really enjoyed the company…”

“So did I, I’m sure I’ll be back soon,” Sanghee giggled, a bit of a suggestive tone in her voice. She pushed herself up from the sofa, heading towards the door. Cloe quickly followed, trailing behind the taller girl. After putting on her shoes, Sanghee turned around to face Cloe.

“Thank you for accepting my apology, Yunseo.” She offered a tender smile, leaning in to place an affectionate kiss on Cloe's forehead. As she turned to leave, her footsteps echoed softly through the quiet apartment. Cloe remained, rooted in place, an aura of sweet bewilderment surrounding her.
