I sincerely don’t think I’ll ever get over Stucky. Not completely. I know this sounds like an exaggeration, but I’m truly convinced that I’ll carry my fondness for this relationship with me for the rest of my life. I’ll still be thinking and crying about it, rereading all my favorite fics, even when I don’t have anyone left on social media to talk to about it, even when the fic count on AO3 has stagnated, even when the MCU is in Phase 54 and no one even remembers who Steve and Bucky were…I’ll still think about it and be moved.

One of my history professors is this scarily intense German guy, and today we were talking about the peer reviewing process and how vicious some academics can get, so I casually asked him what the worst review he’d ever received was.
He became very stony-faced, looked off into the distance and said, completely deadpan and in his thick accent:
“It does not matter. They are dead now.”
I think my professor has killed a man.
