“Shadow.” Theon called out to his direwolf and watched as the animal came running out of the kennels, a slight smirk was on his face as the keepers stepped slightly to the side as if they were scared. It was funny how these people were used to dragons flying around above their heads and their direwolves had to be kept on the kennels. They would not attack anyone unless they were commanded by their masters, but it seemed like no one wanted to listen. Theon caressed the dire wolf’s head as it came to a stop next to him. “You hate chains and being locked up, don’t you? It’s fine, we’ll be out of here soon enough.” 

           the  stark  lady  may  not  have  been  fire  kissed  like  her  mother  or  her  grandmother  before  her  but  once  overcome  with  rage  ,  she  is  a  personification  of  fire  itself  .  she  feels  her  cheeks  heating  up  as  she  continues  to  admonish  the  keepers  ,  fists  balling  to  her  side  ,  candy  taking  a  stand  by  her  leg  ,  “  is  there  anything  in  that  thick  southern  skull  of  yours  that  maybe  resembled  a  brain  ?  because  i  had  very  specific  instructions  that  you  do  not  put  a  muzzle  around  her  snout  .  ”  the  keeper  retorts  with  some  kind  of  reasoning  about  candy  having  the  sharpest  fangs  but  the  spite  and  the  stare  of  the  stark  lady  quickly  silences  him  .  “  i  am  taking  her  for  a  walk  ,  without  that  stupid  torturous  device  of  a  muzzle  and  without  a  leash  .  you  better  thank  your  gods  i  haven’t  chosen  to  let  her  rip  your  tiny  dick  off  .  ”

Who: Lucerys Celtigar ( @basilevs​ )

Rhaegar had enough of greeting people for the day. He was on his way to the library, where he planned to get a few books to take to his chambers and hopefully, he wouldn’t get bothered for the rest of the day. He knew it was a long shot, he knew there was meant to be someone knocking on the door requesting his attention on a matter, but if he ignored them, they would go away. Right? As he turned a corner, he came face to face with his cousin Lucerys. Certainly, the only people he did not mind finding were his family, who he had not seen in some time. “Cousin Lucerys, it’s good to see you again. I did not know you had arrived in King’s Landing already.” 

mourning  was  in  order  ,  the  kingdom  had  lost  their  queen  ,  the  celtigars  their  beloved  aunt  and  the  targaryens  their  mother  .  though  celebrations  were  required  too  .  westeros  had  gained  a  new  dragon  king  to  continue  the  targaryen  dynasty  ,  it  would  (  should  )  be  a  peaceful  coronation  ,  no  wars  ,  no  bloodshed  ,  everything  danaerys  worked  so  fervently  for  will  continue  unperturbed  ,  in  the  hands  of  her  son  .  and  it  is  this  son  lucerys  seeks  ,  still  adorned  in  his  riding  uniform  ,  sweat  dripping  down  his  windblown  silver  hair  ,  he  strives  to  find  the  protector  of  realm  to  offer  him  both  his  congratulations  and  his  condolences  .  he  almost  collides  with  his  brother  instead  .  “  rhaegar  !  ”  he  opens  his  arms  for  an  embrace  with  his  cousin  ,  a  wide  smile  across  his  lips  ,  “  yes,  i  had    just  come  on  dragon  back.  the  weather  is  beautiful  for  riding  .  im  glad  i  found  you  ,  i  was  on  my  way  to  offer  my  deepest  and  most  sincere  condolence  for  the  lost  of  the  queen  .  ”

            there’s  a  glimmer  of  curiosity  in  his  eyes  as  he  approaches  the  princess  ,  a  strange    wave  of  home  that  ebbs  and  flows  at  the  pit  of  his  stomach  —  a  feeling  he  has  thought  he’d  forgotten  .  he  reflects  on  whether  a  bow  is  warranted  as  a  greeting  but  decides  against  it,  he  is  of  royal  blood  too  after  all,  she  is  his  equal  (  as  equal  as  a  woman  can  be  in  trystan’s  mind  )  .  he  nods  only  in  response  ,  a  hint  of  a  smile  teetering  on  the  edge  of  his  lips  ,  “  thank  you  princess  and  do  not  fret  ,  i’m  sure  they’re  not  even  half  as  pretty  .  ”  he  doesn’t  even  leave  a  beat  of  silence  to  settle  before  he’s  gazing  around  ,  “  and  where  do  you  think  i  might  find  some  wine  ?  ”

fingertips  pinch  the  bridge  of  nose  as  she  listens  to  yet  another  lord  drone  on  towards  the  soon  to  be  king  ,  the  hall  was  filled  with  people  from  every  which  realm  ,  and  already  ,  she  wanted  to  leave  .  in  fact  ,  she  had  wanted  to  leave  the  moment  she  stepped  foot  in  the  city  .  wolves  don’t  fair  well  down  south  .  and  she  was  sure  that  was  truth  .     ❛   —     do  you  think  they  mean  it  ,  or  are  they  just  speaking  to  hear  the  sound  of  their  own  voice  ?     ❜     she  mused  to  the  person  beside  her  ,  perhaps  albeit  rude  in  regards  to  the  lord  before  the  prince  ,  but  none  the  less  ,  it  was  a  genuine  question  .

           the  capital’s  heat  is  burning  me  —  that  is  the  only  thought  that  rests  in  alanna’s  mind  .  the  southern  style  dress  that  she  had  adorned  ,  the  tight  braids  that  crowned  her  hair  ,  the  south  is  suffocating  and  she  can’t  wait  to  rip  it  all  off  .  she  wipes  the  beads  of  sweat  that  she  feels  cascading  down  her  face  (  in  not  a  particularly  graceful  way  —  but  who  cares  ?  she  certainly  had  no  inkling  of  a  desire  in  ruminating  about  what  these  pompous  southerners  thought  of  her  )  .  “  most  likely  the  latter  .  ”  she  answers  her  sister  ,  trying  to  move  her  hands  to  fan  herself  ,  “  everyone  in  this  hall  just  screams  vanity  .  i  am  certain  that  lord  has  looked  at  his  own  reflection  about  forty  seven  times  .  i  bet  he  even  tries  to  look  at  his  own  reflection  when  he  takes  a  piss  .  ”

          lucerys  ,  though  having  the  red  keep  as  a  second  home  ,  finds  himself  observing  paraphernalia  on  the  walls  of  the  targaryen  castle  as  though  it  is  his  first  time  entering  the  place  .  he  turns  around  ,  a  bright  red  apple  lingering  on  his  lips  ,  at  the  sound  of  a  voice  ,  thoughts  on  the  history  contained  within  these  walls  dissipating  into  the  periphery  of  his  mind  .  “  not  personally  lost  ,  no    .  ”  he  says  before  taking  a  bite  of  the  apple  .  “  however  ,  i  have  lost  my  cousin  though  .  any  chance  you’ve  seen  them  ?  about  yay  height  ,  white  hair  ,  violet  eyes  .  i  suppose  looking  a  little  bit  like  me  .  ”

alys was the queen now. it was a strange thought that had entered orryn’s mind. his sister now ruled and he felt as useless as usual. his frockling around the castle to avoid the festivities had came to an end and he’d returned to where most were congregating. he was most likely the most unsociable man he knew — choosing to drink the wine privoded and refuse to dance with those who had asked him. though he had perked up significantly upon seeing both of his siblings within close proximity to himself. upon his approach he had spoke, “if it isn’t my two favourite people gathering without me.”

it felt as though all eyes were on her, duty pulling her every each way to play the role of gracious host to the lords of all the kingdoms. finally she had found some peace in conversing with her eldest brother, though it was best that she didn’t express her anxieties in public. whispers traveled far in the red keep. instead she’s divulging a rather questionable joke, said earlier to her by a lord older than their grandsire, when the youngest baratheon stag joins the pair. alys smiles to him and reaches out a hand to pinch his shoulder. “had you been present, little brother, you would have received my invitation,” she answers orryn, “i did send one of my ladies after him. did i not, addam ?”

            pride  fills  his  chest  as  he  sees  his  sister  adorned  with  all  the  jewels  and  emblems  of  a  queen  .  it  was  always  meant  to  be  ,  baraqthones  after  all  were  bloodroyal  ,  with  the  history  of  stag  kings  and  the  kingdom  of  storm  (  though  nobody  seems  to  remember  -  but  the  stormborn  never  forget  ,  they  are  kings  and  queens  in  every  right  except  title  .  or  at  least  ,  they  should  be  )  .  addam  only  rolls  his  eyes  at  his  brother’s  approach  ,  hiding  his  smile  behind  a  sip  of  wine  . “  yes  ,  you  did  dear  sister  .  she  had  them  running  after  you  like  you  were  a  child  .  but  don’t  fret  orryn  ,  there  wasn’t  anything  discussed  that  your  little  brain  could’ve  understood  .  ”
