I genuinely think some of you forget that Kate raised Edwina. And as an 18 year old girl who just lost her father she brought up her sister on what she knew and yes Kate does have her slip ups but she raised Edwina to be intelligent, proficient and a perfect lady. An 18 year girl barely an adult herself teaching her little sister how to learn the life of being a lady so her sister would never know the hardship of life. So no the argument that kate pushed her expectations onto edwina is fraught with the fact that as a parent you teach your child what you know and believe in.

She quite literally did. Her father died and her mother was grieving and the responsibility fell on her. She took it readily, pushed her dreams aside and became someone else. There is sacrifice to this commitment and a whole lot of bravery and it goes highly unappreciated cause Kate fucked up by falling in love "selfishly"
