jasmine never went to a town with so many vampires in it, but she was a bit curious about what was going on in a place like this. after the volturi came to kill her coven and take her for her ability, she has been on the run with her mate and her sibling, hiding from the volturi, hoping to never be found. but now she was in a town full of volturi guards and leaders, while most people in her situation wouldn’t be here, jasmine hoped they wouldn’t do anything with so many vampires and humans around. “i’m a bit curious on all the gossip around here like what people think is causing all the deaths around here.” she said.

atalanta just rolled her eyes at aro. “and this world is the leader of the volturi, doesn’t understand how technology works, everyone give him a round of applause.” she said rudely. atalanta hated being forced to being in the volturi and made her wish she didn’t have an ability so she could be off on her own, faw away from the volturi and her family, the two groups the vampire missed the most. “i don’t think you really care about that since if you did, i wouldn’t be forced into your coven.”

bree was scared, the last thing she remembered was being in a clearing, that family riley had told her about were there… The Cullens, they were there and so were these other vampires clad in black cloaks. Then there was pain and all of a sudden she was waking up here in this new place. the smells were a lot, she never had fully learned to control her hunger when she was a newborn, so she was thankful there weren’t many humans in the park today. she jumped at the sudden voice turning to face what must have been another vampire. she thought about their comment for a moment. “i guess so… but are we really alive?” she asked looking over at the blonde.

she looked over at the young vampire next to her and didyme could sense that she had also been brought back to life like didyme had. it was nice for didyme to meet someone who had gone through what she had gone through too. she felt like no one could understand what she was going through since they hadn’t gone through it like her, but maybe this little vampire could. “i count anything where i’m not gone forever as alive. i mean, it’s hard, my husband has been without me for thousands of years and i don’t really want to be around him for now, my brother was the one to kill and feels no remorse for it, and i don’t really know what to do with my life. but it’s better than being dead in my opinion, maybe someday i’ll find a place where i belong.”

Caius, never one to be taken by surprise, allowed for a brief display of well kept emotion to play out upon his face. Red eyes flared wide, lips parting around a coy smile as his hands rose to brush along the underside of his chin, in thought. She looked the same more or less, though Caius felt that the new wave turn of 21st century fashion did not suit her well. He would have to tell her, some time, that Didyme had looked better in a vestal robe than in pants.

Smirking, Caius tilted his head, gaze travelling along the familiar plains of her face “Didyme.” he had not said her name in that long, so far from his thoughts she had been. It was interesting though, his tongue rolling the letters in a way he remembered well. “-you did little to interest me when you were alive, though now, a ghost, you may actually get a hold of my attention for once,” He chuckled and stepped forward, his stare piercing as a needle. “You…are a ghost little one, yes?”

while the world has changed in the years that the vampire had been dead, it seemed like most of the volturi hadn’t changed in that time. and while she hoped that they would in the time that she had been gone since she saw them going down a terrible and dark path, one she never wanted to be a part of, which was part of the reason she wanted to leave the coven. she wasn’t a cruel and cold person like the rest of them and she wanted to get away from that before she turned into one. 

“not surprising, i don’t think anyone interests you unless they share your desire to watch the world burn.” she replied to caius. “unfortunately to burst your bubble, i am not a ghost. technically not alive since i’m a vampire, but not a ghost, at least not that i know of, can’t do anything different than when i was alive last.”

“how do you see this as a family? a family never has to force you to be a part of it against your will.” she replied to marcus. “while i don’t see the lamias as my family if i was given a choice between them and the volturi, i’d choose them since they never forced me to be with them.” she added. “because, how is it that the coven that is in charge only has the power because most of their members are forced to be a part of it.” she said. “like shouldn’t that be a sign that the volturi shouldn’t be in charge?”

alice had seen the vampire breaking the very small law, in fact one of the few visions she had since the volturi had arrived in denali. she didn’t believe someone could even realize it was a rule. “oh please.” alice rolled her eyes at alec. she had multiple run ins with the volturi member that now rarely was she scared of his power. “you know for someone who is all about keeping the vampire world a secret, you have no problem using your power in public.”

“well as you see, i was enforcing our laws with someone who was breaking them.” he replied to alice. “also, i can hear humans approaching, so i make sure that i’m done using my ability by the time they get enough close enough to figure out what’s going on.” the vampire addded.

“he is the only superior i care to listen to.” the vampire replied to marcus with a smirk. alec knew he could do things like this because aro wouldn’t harm alec because of his ability. “and obviously not here as you can tell. and don’t bring her up either.” the vampire snapped. elly was someone alec would protect as hard as possible. “and how about you go of and pout for the rest of time, only thing you are useful for.”

aro was the only person in the volturi other than his sister that alec would listen to. he rarely listened to caius or marcus, but with aro, he saved him and his sister from death, so he would sacrifice his life for aro. “i’m not much of a help for that. i’ve never used human technology really, unless i have to.” the vampire replied to aro. “if that is your way of saying that we are going back to volterra then i fully agree with being homesick.” alec hated boring little towns like this and forks.

chelsea found herself people watching like the vampire did from time to time. it was something that the vampire enjoyed until she found one to feed on or to entertain her or both. she could smell the human blood and was curious of where it came from and that was when she noticed a vampire there. “i can tell that. but i don’t need directions. just curious on if you are just a messy eater or don’t wash your clothes.” the guard said.

Charlotte appeared, as if out of no where. On her shirt, half hidden by a grey cardigan, blood splatters weren’t awfully visible, but the smell would have attracted anything that wasn’t human. Perching herself on the outskirts of the forest, she resigned to people watching the folk that came and went. Denali was odd and new and while the sorely missed the smokey mountains, she would have to do with the snowy Alaskan Wilderness in the meantime. “Oh-” she glanced to the person suddenly taking up space at her left shoudler “-Im not from round here, so i ain’t much help-” she shrugged with a smile “-sorry.”

chelsea couldn’t help but laugh at how in the unknown aro was about new technology, like most of the volturi was. chelsea on the other hand enjoyed spending time around humans which led to her learning more about what technology they made and how to use it. and since chelsea was hanging around where the volturi was staying she was in her pure black cloak, that color only worn by the leaders themselves and chelsea. “sometimes no, like when i’m in paris or new york. but in a dull place like this, i miss volterra more than anything.” she said.

“the thing is though, it’s never been in my nature to even hurt a fly. but i have to do it to survive and even that has been so hard for me.” she explained to marcus. “being alone is why i need to be... for now... maybe in a decade or a century that may change or maybe it won’t. but i just can’t get close to people like i could before.” she also knew she would need to do everything she could to keep her power locked inside of her even if it hurt since doing so took away her own happiness since that was the only way for her not to use her power. “i’m not stronger than my brother marcus, i never was. while he could kill me again without a second thought, i could not do the same to him. i’m weak, i’ve always have been and always will be.” she admitted. “and i highly doubt i was brought back for any reason other than to suffer because if i was brought back for any other reason, then the force would’ve made me forget how i died.” she said. she pulled away again, she couldn’t handle any of this, being around him, feeling everything she did. “i don’t want you to be my friend, i want you to forget i ever even existed.” she blurted out honestly. “i wish i could reverse time and make it so you never knew me, it’s better for everyone that way.” it was how didyme truly felt about herself, that she only caused trouble. for a second she let her power come out, she wanted to make marcus feel happiness for at least a second, hoping it would help him before the vampire ran off.

“no you shouldn’t marcus. i’m anything more to anyone. i mean, if i didn’t even have an ability you and i never would’ve met since i would be even less useful to aro.” she said to him. “i thought at some point that you did love me, that it wasn’t my power doing it for you. and when i did i was killed not long after, i feel like it might’ve been the universe telling me the truth, that i’m not meant to be loved. my own power makes not just you happy but me too, the difference is when i don’t use my ability, i don’t feel different about people. i still care and love greatly for those close, i don’t know if the same can be said about others.” she said. “you need to let me go marcus, it’s the only way that you can be happy, just forget i ever existed.” she replied. “i’m a vampire marcus, i’m a soulless monster. i kill humans for food, i take away a loved one someone every time i need to feed, someone with a soul doesn’t do that.” she replied. “it’s not who i am.. not anymore. happiness... it just leds to pain.. and it’s all just me being naive. i grew up being told stories about how love and happiness is stronger than any force in the world, but it’s not... or maybe it is and those who bring it to the world aren’t meant to ever be happy themselves...”
