Under the Gloves

“Papa, what do you like about mom?” The lavender haired boy tagged along beside his father, both dripping with sweat as the doors to the gravity chamber closed behind them.

His father scoffed, eyes narrowing as he kept his stare straight ahead, “That’s an odd question.”

“Not really,” Trunks flexed his shoulders, wincing slightly. He was definitely going to be sore in the morning, “I mean, you guys are always arguing and stuff. Usually that means you don’t like each other.”

“You have a lot to learn about females.” Vegeta opened the door to the kitchen as Trunks practically ran him over; he could appreciate his sons ravenous appetite.

After the two of them raided the fridge, practically all of its contents laid out on the the kitchen island. Trunks through a large bite managed to say, “I mean, you guys never even hug in public. I’m not even sure you sleep in the same room all the time.”

With a roll of his eyes, Vegeta finally turned ever so slightly in his chair, “Your questions are irritating. Relationships aren’t always about mushy, useless displays of affection. If your mother and I didn’t want to be together, We wouldn’t-”

“You’ve got mustard on your glove.” Trunks interrupted, pointing with the chicken leg he was holding.

“Damnit,” Vegeta growled, dropping his steak to begin peeling off his gloves.

Trunks continued to gnaw on his lunch, mulling over his fathers words as he watched him carefully peel off the now stained gloves from his large hands. He’d always wondered about his parents relationship. Gotens parents at least seemed to like one another. His parents were like oil and water, flammable and volatile; but they’d been together awhile so there must be something to it…

The son of Vegeta nearly dropped his lunch when he saw the gold band on his fathers now exposed ring finger.

Vegeta tossed the gloves off to the side of the island and picked his fork back up. He finally noticed Trunks’s obvious stare and smirked, “I only wear it under my gloves. Don’t want to lose it. Sometimes relationships are the things you don’t see.” He finished quietly and went back to eating his steak, “And don’t tell your mother.”

Trunks smiled and happily picked up his chicken.

Well. Ended up coloring @vegetapsycho ‘s sketch, when got permission to do. It’s about chapter 17 of @niteryde ‘s amazing fanfic called In the Shadows. (Go read it everyone, if you love this family, this is fic that surely makes you cry!) I don’t know how to feel all about this. Fic broke my heart, but vegetapsycho’s art shattered it to million pieces. xD I really loved to color this, thinking of scene and listening few soundtracks. Ugh. I’m still not over it. All glory of damn beautiful sketch for @vegetapsycho And all thanks of making this story for @niteryde And well coloring is by me. :’D

What is your favorite fanfic you’ve ever written? And what’s your favorite fanfic written by someone else?

Oh man, it’s so hard to choose my favorite fic I wrote. I put so much into what I write, it’s like trying to pick your favorite child…

So here I go, playing favorites XD

Anything with multiple chapters tends to leave more of an impression since I had to live with and nurture the story more. But that being said, as far as one-shots go, I’m still pretty happy with ‘Routine’. 

I know ‘Friends’ is by far my most popular fic, but honestly I cringe when I go back and read what I wrote, haha. Don’t get me wrong, I adore the story and characters, but the writing quality was uh… eesh. *Shudders*.

OSSP was a marathon. I had to write that sucker in about 2 weeks for a competition and submitted it with ten minutes to spare XD I love steam punk and PnP and I’m so glad I could write the story. My only regret is I couldn’t flesh it out more, especially the final chapter.

I love writing Vegeta’s POV in Girl Next Door (and it means I get to stare at stupidoomdoodles’ amazing comic for hours). I also get a sick kick out of ‘torturing’ Vegeta in On Set in sexy cock-blocking ways. >:)

But if my arm was twisted, maybe I would say that I like Blue Doll the best..? I really like the mood of it, and how it ‘ended’. I feel pretty good overall with how it turned out, so that’s a ‘win’ in my book, haha XD 

What’s your favorite?

My favorite fic that I’ve read? That’s both hard and easy. Hard because… well, I actually haven’t read very many. I only discovered DBZ a couple years ago, and I only read a few fics before I started writing my own. Nowadays I have to prioritize: write or read? Usually the former wins out.

Which is why it’s also ‘easy’ for me to choose because I have such a limited pool to choose from, haha. I love most everything by Tempestt/TemptingTemptation. Some favorites: Free My Heart, Against All Odds, DeNile, You, Lab Monkey, and Dark Desire (chapter 5: Choose especially. Vegeta is so Daddy in that). 

I was really blown away by Tabula Rasa by Fleurlicorne. 

Even Though Our Love is Doomed by FrogLady15 left me a fucking mess (and I still haven’t forgiven her for it). 

@dragonbabezee​ wrote the cutest, most vegebul-y fic, Babes in the Woods, for the @vegebulzine​. 

But yeah, sorry, I’m actually not a very good source of other vegebul fanfic ;_; I’m sure a lot of the community know better than I do about these things. Any recs or lists anyone wants to share? Feel free to leave your favorites in the comments!

I know @rutbisbe​ has done a lot of amazing fanart for many fics, most of which I haven’t read but really need to. So that might also be a good source to go by.
