13/100 days of practice || Oscar Peterson’s Minuet No. 2 after nine takes. This Minuet is one of my favorite exercises so far. CONFESSION TIME: I find social media draining. If possible, I would like to quit it. So what’s this all for, then? Just for show? NOT AT ALL. I believe in the power of consistency and perseverance. Practice makes progress, and we will reap that if we don’t give up. Sometimes, We might not be getting the results we want. That’s fine. We have expectations, and we tend to set them too high. 6/100 days of practice || I took the time to learn Czerny Op. 299 No. 11 and practiced To Zanarkand slowly with a metronome. I want to emphasize "slowly." Living in the digital age, we’ve gotten used to instant everything up to the point that waiting becomes difficult. Playing the piano continues to teach and train me to be patient. I haven't played this in a while, but it's my favorite Czerny exercise. I find it so melodic I listen to Claudio Colombo's recording on Spotify over and over again. 3/100 days of practice || Oftentimes, we see the finished product, but not the process. Learning a piece is like gaining a new friend. You start as strangers, and you get to know each other. Then you go through trials together and finish strong. In the end, you develop a strong and unique bond. At this point, I'm still getting to know this piece and the story it has to tell. As much as I want to put a deadline to it, I think I'll take my time with this one. We don't want anything to steal the fun away, do we? _______________ Although this part has the same melody as the previous one, the shift from eight to sixteenth notes in the left-hand challenges me. I probably need to coordinate the right hand's timing and press the right notes on the left hand. 1/100 days of practice || I had been practicing on and off since my major blooper back in 2018. As light as I’m trying to make it sound, it was emotionally scarring - close to traumatic. 🎵 Jules Massenet - "Aragonaise" from Le Cid I was in fifth grade when I first heard this song. Never performed it in any recital, but I remember my mom playing it over and over again.
