Building a better mouse trap, using video surveillance
So, here's the extension cord that goes to my computerized mouse trap monitoring system. And, I've got a light on here and I've got my Raspberry PI and there's a camera module right there aimed at the mouse trap, and here's the console for my mouse trap monitoring system, so if I just reach in there, as soon as there's my finger in there you can see there's a motion detection log and those images were saved. And, I took the water out of this one, just because I don't want to show mice getting killed on YouTube. The idea with this kind of trap that the mouse eventually gets on the can to get at the bait, and the can rotates, and the mouse falls in the bucket and drowns. But, as you can see, the mouse is very good at avoiding getting onto that can and falling in, and it's still getting at some of the bait. We've used this sort of trap to catch mice many times before, but it's clear that this trap is not working optimally. It looks like that mouse is just too darn clever, so I have to build a better mouse trap. So, I put little stones in this one so this ones actually fairly stable, and I'm hoping the mouse will trust it enough to actually walk across it. So, when it gets to this one, hopefully it'll just fall in and it won't have anything to grab by. So, if the can is stable enough to hold the mouse, and let's see. Gotcha! Aha! So, the mouse then spent over an hour trying to get out of that bucket, but it did manage to jump out eventually. And, what do you know? It just goes right back at it. Come on, come on. Fall, fall, damn. I gotta really admire the daring and agility of that mouse. This is just amazing. Strike two. Whoa. That was much quicker getting out of the bucket this time. There it...

Bee Removal
Catching Bees. These Bees are underneath a shed in Congress Arizona. This is the hive, what you see in the darker areas are the brood Comb or "little baby bees" Yep This is footage of the bee hive and exactly what they look like underneath the shed. You can tell they like to fill the empty space. You can see the yellow honey comb and the bees working like busy bees The bees are captured alive in the cylindrical cage and just below them is the frames where the honey and comb with brood comb are now situated and ready to be transported to the new home. This is the hole where the bees were coming and going from underneath the shed. A few stragglers left behind.

Principals of Beekeeping : Bee hive removal
Sometimes bees are a problem near houses or where the people are in buildings, or in trees on farms, so sometimes there’s a need to remove the bees. The main factor affecting this is the bees’ location. One common location for the bees are hollow tress. A small example of that could be this tree with a little hole in it, but who knows how deep the hole is, so bees could be living there or coming to live in there and stay there for years. So sometimes the bee removal depends on how difficult it is to get to the bees. In this case, it’s not difficult, but it’s not comfortable. Sometimes it’s even worse than that.

How to Get Rid of Wasps & Hornets - Nest Removal
There are a couple of different ways to eliminate a hornet nest outdoors. First you must locate the actual nesting area. You will need to watch the active hornets and follow them back to the nest. It is very important that your keep your distance so you don't disturb the nest. Hornets often make their nests in trees, bushes, hanging off of buildings and in other areas that are not disturbed often. Once you have located the nest you can decide which of the outlined treatment methods would best suit your needs. Both methods should be done in the late evening when the hornets are inside the nest and less active. Be sure to wear long sleeves, long pants and enclosed shoes. If the nesting area is hard to move away from quickly, we strongly urge you to consider purchasing and wearing a complete bee suit to help protect yourself from being stung. If the nest poses an immediate threat, we recommend doing a direct spray into the nest. Please note that this method can expose you to a hornet attack if you are not extremely careful. You will need a fast acting knockdown product such as Wasp Freeze. You should begin by spraying the opening of the nest. Make sure to spray the Wasp Freeze inside the nest. Be ready with the can of wasp freeze and spray any emerging hornets directly for a fast kill. After the area has completely dried, you should remove the nest and destroy it if possible. Put the nest inside a plastic bag and dispose of it or put it in a bucket of soapy water. If this is not possible you should retreat the nest with a residual such as Temprid every 14 days until all of the immature wasps have been killed. If the nest does not pose an immediate risk you can do a dust treatment. Dusting...

Insect Pest Control : How to Get Rid of a Beehive
Today we're talking about how to rid your home of insects, the topic is how to get rid of a beehive. Quite often what I do is I go around, inspect the house, find where the hive is, or where the bees or wasps are coming in and out of the house. Basically, take some kind of wasp, bee killer and I spray the area and I get all of the area, making sure I don't get stung myself, and stand back far enough that you're safe. Once I do that, I let it sit for about ten, fifteen, twenty minutes and then I take my webster, or pole, and I clean off the nest or knock them down. You can use almost anything, a stick or a pole, whatever, to knock down the nest. If it's really big, you may want to hire a professional. Another method to get rid of, or rid your home of bees or wasp, is by taking a mixture of water and soap, usually about fifty fifty, maybe a little bit less of the soap, in some spray container and actually spray the nest and that will also get the wasps or bees to drop down and to die off and then you can clean off the nest.

Rodent Control Overview - How to Kill Rats & Mice
You'll find a wide selection of professional do it yourself products for rodent control including baits, bait stations, traps, lures, and rodent control kits. Mouse and Rat baits are made with a blend of optimal food grade ingredients to make them attractive to rodents. Baits are available in pellet, blox, pack, cake or liquid form. Baits are typically used outdoors to control rodents before they move indoors. While bait can also be used indoors, be cautioned that rodents might move into walls or other inaccessible spaces before dying, making it difficult to remove them. Whether you are baiting indoors or outdoors baits should never be placed in areas accessible by children and pets. Instead, always secure the bait in tamper-resistant bait stations. Bait Stations are specially designed boxes that can be filled with any kind of rodent bait, keeping it dry and fresh longer. These come in larger sizes for rats and smaller sizes for mice. A good bait station will also include a special key for added safety where children or animals are present. These bait stations can blend in with the surrounding environment or fit underneath appliances. Traps are a great alternative if using rodent baits is not desirable in a home or business . Rodent traps come in three basic varieties. Snap Traps, Glue Traps, and Humane Live Catch traps. Snap Traps consists of a spring loaded mechanism that is tied into a space where bait of any kind can be placed. When the bait is removed by a mouse or rat, the spring will fire, snapping the trap shut quickly killing the rodent. A Glue Trap is covered in sticky glue that can be placed against floors and walls where rodents travel. When the rodent tries to cross the glue it will become trapped, leading to its eventual death.

Rodent Control: Get Rid of Mice!
Hi. My name is Andy Woolworth, with Victor. Today I'm going to show you how to properly remove rodents from your home. Rodents are an order of mammals characterized by two incisors in the upper and lower jaw, which grow continuously and must be kept worn down by gnawing. In this video series, I will cover the dangers of rodents and the diseases that they carry and can potentially bring into your home. Next, I will show you how to identify where rodents are located by looking for the common signs, such as droppings or gnawing damage. Then, I will talk about the difference between traps and poisons and how to select the right one for your needs. Finally, we will discuss traps, poisons, and exactly when and how to effectively use each. You don't need too much to get started: just the proper rodent control solution to your specific issue, which may include traps and poisons and disposable gloves. When dealing with rodents, it is important to precisely identify your problem and take the specific steps to remove rodents from your home. Also, keep in mind, some situations call for professional help. Depending on several factors, including the condition of your home such as holes in your pipes, walls; openings under doors, windows, chimney coverings; the location such as high rodent populated areas and type of infestation, professionals may be needed to not only remove all rodents living in your home, but also rodent-proof problem areas to prevent them from returning. Before we begin, let me tell you a little about Victor. Victor is recognized as a world leader in the rodent control category and has been a trusted brand name since 1890. Victor revolutionized the rodent control market a hundred years ago with the invention of the spring-based Victor mousetrap. Today, we continuously strive to manufacture innovative, quality products that keep your family safe from the dangers rodents pose....
