Day 3 - Seasonal allergies

A/N: I have no idea whether any of them have allergies, so, whatever, I live in la-la land anyway when it comes to canon, not tiva

The scent of the blooming tulips was almost overwhelming, causing Tony to briefly scrunch up his nose after snapping another picture. When Ziva walked up to him, he vaguely held the camera up in her direction to shoot a random picture of her, but she blocked most of the lens with her hand.

She took in her surroundings, a smile appearing on her lips, and inhaled deeply through her nose. “Best smelling crime scene I have ever been to.”

Tony looked at her and deadpanned, “Yeah, we should send out a memo to all wannabe murders that they’re only allowed to leave victims in a flower field.”

Three rapid-fire sneezes, followed by Ducky’s voice drew their attention away from the dead marine lying on the ground at their feet.

“You should have asked me, Mr Palmer,” Ducky said, as he went straight over to the body.

Jimmy greeted Tony and Ziva with a nod and a wide smile, then practically doubled over with another loud sneeze.

“Gesundheit,” Tony said, hoping it wasn’t contagious.

“Thanks,” Palmer said, sounding slightly congested.

Ziva stared at Tony. “You speak German?”

He glanced at her, then focused on what Ducky was doing. “Only when people sneeze.”

She rolled her eyes, then almost flinched at the sound of another sneeze.

“Gesund-“ Two more sneezes cut Tony off.

Palmer looked up at them with watery eyes, while wiping his nose with a handkerchief. “I ran out of allergy medication.”

“As I said, Mr Palmer, we could have stopped at the pharmacy on the way here.” Ducky pointed at the body. “This poor fellow could have waited five more minutes.”

Another sneeze.

Tony briefly wondered if Jimmy’s allergies were about to contaminate their crime scene. “What are you allergic to, dead bodies?”

Ziva raised an eyebrow at him. “Bad jokes?”

Jimmy looked at them, wiped his nose again, and waved his arm at the field of flowers. “Tulips.”

Day 4 - Getting stung by a very persistent bee

Prompt: Getting stung by a very persistent bee

A buzzing right next to her ear, triggered Ziva’s fight or flight response. She had never liked bees, not since one had stung her as a toddler. It was nothing more than a vague memory, really, but after several adults had repeatedly reminded her of it throughout her childhood, the harmless, albeit painful, event had left a mark on her.

Trying to evade the offending bug, she roughly bumped into Tony, his frown going completely unnoticed by her as she tried to get a visual on the bee. With uncharacteristic imprecision, she swatted at a black spot moving erratically to her left.

“Big bad ninja afraid of a little bee?” Tony said, sounding a bit too gleeful.

Ziva ignored him as she moved around in an attempt to get away from the bee.

“Are you allergic?” Tony asked, confused about his partner's panicky behavior.

“No,” Ziva grunted, as she took another swing at the unpredictable bug, and missed.

“Okay, then,” he spotted a rose bush a few feet away, and pointed at it, “calm down, and let’s walk over there, maybe it’ll get distracted by the flowers.”

The bee dutifully followed, unfortunately it did not let up on bugging Ziva. It hovered ever closer to her face, the buzzing getting louder. Another swipe only resulted in her slapping Tony on the arm.

“Stop swatting, you’re making it angry.”

“It is making me angry!”

“Just, stand still,” Tony said firmly, briefly pinning her arms to her side as he tracked the bees movement. When the bee made another attempt to get close to Ziva’s face, he let go of her arms and calmly held a hand between the bee and Ziva. Gently, he guided it towards the rose bush, without ever touching it.

“See, easy does it,” he said confidently.

Logically, she knew this, but when it came to bees, there was a Grand Canyon sized gap between logic and emotions. She clenched her hands into fists, willing them to stay at her side as she kept a close eye on the hovering bug.

Tony took his eyes of the bee to glance at Ziva, who still very much looked like she was about to throw hands with anything that came within a six foot radius. He watched her eyes go wide, the exact moment he felt a faint tickle on his cheek.

“It’s fine,” he said reassuringly as the bee moved closer to his chin, then made a beeline to his nose. Watching Ziva narrow her eyes as she lifted her arm, while the bee took a closer look at his left nostril, made mild panic rise inside of him. Surely a bee sting would be less painful than getting punched in the face by Ziva.

He held out his left arm in an attempt to stop Ziva, and swatted at the bee who was now investigating his upper lip. The burning sensation was more painful than the initial sting, but it definitely paled in comparison to Ziva’s right hook.

Ziva reached out to him with a pained expression, and moved his hand away from his lip, tilting his head towards her with her other hand to get a closer look.

“How bad is it,” he asked, “botched lip injection bad?”

She frowned, then her features relaxed and she patted his cheek with her right hand. “You can barely see it.”

“You should feel it, though,” he said with mock gravity.

Ziva tilted her head and softened her eyes. The corners of her mouth quirked upwards right before she gently, but all too briefly, placed her lips on his.

Tony grinned, the bee sting all but forgotten, and asked, “What was that for?”

“Kiss and make it better, yes?”

He licked his lips, never breaking eye contact. “I don’t think it’s working, try again.”

Ziva raised an eyebrow and pursed her lips.

“I saved you from certain death by bee.”

“I told you, I’m not allergic.”

“You would have died a thousand deaths if not for my brave sacrifice.”

She chuckled, and kissed him again, a little longer this time.” You are going to milk this, aren’t you?”

“Oh yeah,” Tony said smiling widely.

I couldn't watch Sasha and Michael's Insta Live because of timezone differences so I put it out there on Tumblr asking for a recap.

Woke up to this.

One is a quick highlight of the information they knew I'd be waiting for the most. Specifically spinoff details.

The other is the link to the live video itself on replay.

Right there in my notifications waiting for me, the quick answer I'd need in the morning so I wouldn't spend all day at work in limbo and the video to enjoy in its full glory. Everything I'd missed was instantly provided by people who love NCIS and Tiva as much as I do.

It's been almost 20 years since Tiva first hit our screens, and still, after all this time, the connection and the loyalty remain. We all know how much it means to each other to find out these details and catch every glimpse of an appearance possible. We've been fed crumbs for so long, these bigger, more tangible pieces of information are so valuable no one wants to miss out.

Our love for this couple is bigger than all the years, all the timezones and all the different continents we span. Because of Tony and Ziva, we quote books that were made into movies, never stop believing that they were inevitable, and know that "Couldn't live without you, I guess" is just code for "You are so... loved."

And the way we rally around and immediately make sure no one gets left behind, that every single moment is there for everyone to enjoy, links reblogged, interviews transcribed, and names pinged every time there's something new... well it just makes me incredibly grateful and so damn proud to be part of this group of people.

I love you guys. The Tiva fandom is truly something special. Here's to 20 more years of celebrating our favourite meant to be couple, no matter how many times they break our hearts.

I can't wait to freak out with you when NCIS Europe finally airs.
