Hundreds of Jewish anti-war demonstrators have been arrested during a Passover seder that doubled as a protest in New York, as they shut down a major thoroughfare to pray for a ceasefire and urge the Senate majority leader, Chuck Schumer, to end US military aid to Israel.

The 300 or so arrests took place on Tuesday night at Grand Army Plaza, on the doorstep of Schumer’s Brooklyn residence, where thousands of mostly Jewish New Yorkers gathered for the seder, a ritual that marked the second night of the holiday celebrated as a festival of freedom by Jews worldwide.

The seder came just before the US Senate resoundingly passed a military package that includes $26bn for Israel.

enough reclaiming slurs, I think in 2023 we should reclaim nascar. they banned the confederate flag on all properties & their stance on lgbtq+ isn’t just performative bc in 2013 they fined a driver 10k for using a homophobic slur, condemned indiana in a statement for an anti lgbt law, and partnered w carolina’s lgbt+ chamber of conference in 2022. nascar was founded by anti-cop moonshiners/bootleggers who drove suped-up fords to out-run the police. #yaaascar

they call me Cut My Fingers Up McScrapes on account that i'm always getting my fingers scraped and cut. at any given point i'm boasting at least twelve little abrasions. no digit is safe as long as it's one of mine. this constant series of little injuries doesn't make me stronger but it certainly makes me bloodier. i go to shake your hand and the feel of all the little bumps and scabs from my countless superficial injuries spells out "oops ouch lmao" in braille. i start juggling and you see a constant tick of "-1 HP" text indicators over my head. even though i'm juggling scarves. no pain no gain and you know the moment i start using my hands i'm stackin' those gashes
