When I first saw the title of Stephen’s video I couldn’t believe it. ,,He has to be joking, right?”. I wish it was a joke. Some dumb clickbait we will be angry about for a few minutes.
I respect Stephen’s decision and I’m sure it wasn’t easy for him to make it. I’m heartbroken it went that far, but I’m happy that he isn’t forcing himself to drag this out. I’m glad he’s doing what is best for him and his mental health.
Stephen contributed so much to this channel and without him it’ll never be the same. He’s much more than just an employee. He’s part of Danplan. He’s amazing and fun. His personality was so unique, he had put so much effort in his persona. He had never failed to make me laugh even at my worst days. He’s so nice at his streams. I’ve been fortunate enough to ask him a question! (I can’t describe how relieved I was when he didn’t make fun of my English and my accent).
DON’T HARASS DANIEL! We don’t know the whole story, but even if we did, he’s still a person with feelings. He’s a human. And humans make mistakes. We can just hope that Daniel releases his before it’s too late. Yes, he said and did a lot of hurtful things. I’m disappointed in him like all of the fandom. But harassing him won’t do anyone any good. Especially not him. I’m waiting for his video and explanation.
I feel sorry for Hosuh, who tried so hard to hold everything together and animators, who got caught by the crossfire.
I love Danplan. I’m not sure when I started watching them, but I remember watching one of their videos where Stephen was talking about going to the Disneyland and I hoped that it would be possible. They had about 850 thousand subscribers then, if I’m not wrong. I loved it so much that I recommended them to everyone I know. (Or more like annoyed them with it until they gave up and watched at least one video). Danplan was always and escape for me, when I had bad day. I watched all of their videos at least a few times.
It was Danplan that inspired me to draw. (Like seriously, I had drawn so much of them… I can’t even count how many pages I filled up with them). I wouldn’t be here, on tumblr, drawing fanarts if it weren’t for them. They were the ones who gave me the final “push” I needed to actually draw and post that stuff. I even wanted to do animation. I have a few ideas already and storyboards for three of them, but after everything that happened… I don’t know if I’ll ever do it. Maybe if Stephen will be okay with us still doing fanart with him and the guys. If not then… well…
Also, I love Fanplan. I’m so glad I’m part of it. It’s one of the most welcoming, warm communities I’ve ever come across.
…At least part of it. I tend to ignore the disrespectful brats, whose comments I sometimes see, but now it’s worse. Because they don’t give Daniel a chance to explain himself. I get it – you’re hurt and confused. We all are. But don’t we own to Daniel to at least hear his side of the story? And be DECENT HUMAN BEINGS? AND NOT MONKEYS THROWING CRAP AT ANOTHER MONKEYS?
I feel hurt and upset. I never would’ve guessed something like that will happen. That Daniel would do something like this. I feel like I’ve been betrayed. I can’t imagine what Stephen felt all this time and even now.
Nothing will be the same anymore. And I can’t stop crying when I think about it.
I stand by and fully support Stephen, and I’m so proud that he made choice what was right for him. But after all this time I owe Daniel the benefit of the doubt. I owe him a chance to explain himself.

I may not be that active in the danplan fandom n shit, and I'll be even less active now the but like
Don't fucking? Attack??? Daniel??????
Stephen said he doesn't want us to do that so please respect that.
Instead of doing something like that which he told us not to do, how about we just support him? And try to make him as happy as possible with our love for him? Because he is an amazing and funny and he tries so hard both for his sake and ours.
Stephen, I know you won't read this, but my dude, you rock. You're funny and talented and amazing, we all love you, we all support you. 💜

Im sorry to lay this on you but Im just kinda sad Stephen left I respect his choice though, Im more sad about what dan did because Ive been watching danplan on and off for about 2 years now and their videos have cheered me up when I was going though some hard stuff, I really thought (maybe even tricked myself into thinking) everything was going to be fine when they mixed work(?) with friendship, Im trying to not pick sides until dan responds but its hard not to, sorry for laying this on you
Dont be. I completely understand.
Mixing work and friendship doesnt always go so south. Its mainly, from what we've heard, how Daniel treated it.
I suppose he may have saw Stephen as someone akin to "the funny friend." That's my only way of thinking how he wouldnt see Stephen doing much for the channel. If he usually did things for shock value and humour, he wouldnt see the effort Stephen was putting in to become a member of the channel. He was just.. Being Stephen.
That still in no way excuses him paying Stephen so little and calling him just an employee, however.
I'm still waiting on Daniel to say something to go super public on how I feel on this, but I do feel a similar way to you.
Stephen sounded so heartbroken. I really hope 2020 goes well for him, Hosuh, and everyone else caught up in this mess.

Just because Daniel did something bad, it doesn't mean you have to unsubscribe from Danplan.
Come on guys, this isn't just "Daniel's channel" with just "Daniel's work".
That's a whole Goddamn team you are unsubscribing from
And it is more frustrating when you comment just straight up hate on danplan videos.
Why don't we all handle it like actual decent human beings
A lot of animators and people work hard for this beautiful channel, don't they deserve so much better?
Like they had just celebrate 2m subs last week!
And if you unsubscribed from Danplan just because of Daniel, that's just not right man
Give an actual and valid reason
So don't be jerks.

This doesn’t have to be a drama. Stephen has made a healthy decision. Support him, not attack Danplan.
I feel nothing but pain.
Don’t attack Daniel or anyone else from Danplan.
Support Stephen.
He’s thought about this long and hard, and he’s made the decision to leave. DON’T drag him back into this with nonsensical drama! He does NOT want to hurt anybody!
This was initially going to be a ‘support Stephen’ post but it turned into a ‘don’t attack Danplan’ post.
I’ve been watching Danplan for a year and they’re my all time favourite Youtube channel. I loved everything about them. They made me laugh so much. I honestly can’t remember a time I laughed harder than when I first watched their RPG videos. They brought me nothing but happiness, and for a year every time they uploaded I would instantly brighten up, no matter how down in the dumps I was.
Stephen was always my favourite. His personality was unique. I’d never seen anything quite like him. He was dark, narcissistic, violent, flamboyant, smart, competitive, wild and fun. I loved Danplan because (as Stephen said in his video) their personalities worked so well together. But I thought Stephen was still the best.
I was super hyped this morning when I checked to see if Danplan had uploaded and their new Superhero video was up. So I watched that and had fun. And then I saw Stephen’s video in the recommended. At first, I didn’t really believe it. When I clicked his video the first thing I did was pause and scroll down into the comments, and although they didn’t 100% confirm it, I began to realise that this video was serious. Then, I watched the video.
It was very heartbreaking. I was disheartened that Stephen would no longer be in Danplan, but I was able to deal with the fact that he was leaving. I mostly felt bad for Stephen. He sounded like he was on the verge of tears. Even though I’m sad, I fully 100% support Stephen. His well-being comes first, absolutely, no questions asked. It’ll take a while to get used to Stephen’s absence, but I’m glad he’s still staying on Actually Stephen. We aren’t losing him.
When I returned to the Superhero video, I scrolled into the comments, and it was filled with people attacking Daniel. I mean, it was mostly “STEPHEN ISN’T AN EMPLOYEE HE’S A FRIEND”, so I thought, ‘it could’ve been worse’. Still it made me uncomfortable.
But things are getting worse. People are really attacking them now. Danplan has lost a ton of subscribers and their latest video has over 8k dislikes. Youtube is their income. Stephen said not to accuse anyone until we get both sides of the story and I agree. The fans are turning this into drama when it didn’t have to be. Even Hosuh and the animators are getting caught in the crossfire. One of my favourite things about Danplan was that there wasn’t any drama. But of course, the channel grew huge and I’ve learned that rarely ends well.
It’s only been several hours but things are already taking a turn for the worse. Please please please stop while the problem is still minimal. Worst case scenario, Danplan can’t continue, and everyone involved loses their jobs, all because Stephen wanted to make a healthy decision for the sake of his own well-being.
We haven’t got all the sides of the story. From what Stephen has said, it sounds like Daniel messed up big time, but it’s evident from many videos that Daniel works really, really hard. Based on Stephen’s video, Daniel did something bad. Really bad. Stephen’s been really messed up by it, and there’s no excuse for hurting someone else in such a way. But please wait. We can work this out.
What Daniel did to Stephen was wrong, but in his defence (despite him having not responded yet) Daniel works unbelievably hard. He comes up with all these video ideas and scripts them out and runs the whole show, while dealing with lots of classes. In one video he was bleeding from overworking, and he’s doing this all for us. In comparison to all that, Stephen just having to show up to recordings must’ve seemed minimal to him in comparison. Although, saying he contributed less than 1% was definitely messed up. As well as saying he was nothing but an employee. But again, with the whole ‘you’re just an employee’ thing. They were in a serious fight. We often say things we don’t mean. It was a single sentence, possibly said in the heat of the moment. He probably doesn’t even remember saying it. I remember a time my mum said something that stuck with me for years, and when I finally brought it up again, mum was horrified, and apologised. If Daniel genuinely meant what he said then… he’s completely in the wrong. But I’d rather give him the benefit of the doubt and wait for his response.
I’m definitely not saying Daniel was right. Based on what Stephen said in his video, he did something he absolutely should not have. Something that hurt Stephen immensely, and it’s possible that he’s also affecting others. But please remember that Daniel is human. We can’t immediately assume that he’s the incarnation of evil. Let’s not blow this out of proportion. Stephen wants to leave, so let him. Let him move on. I don’t want to lose their channel. They CAN’T lose their channel. If Daniel’s attitude turns out to be a serious lingering problem that’s effecting others as well, and he refuses to put any effort into fixing it, then it becomes a problem. But. we. don’t. know. that. yet.
We want Stephen to be happy, and yet we are doing the opposite by starting a war. This is definitely a complicated situation, but it’s also very personal. Let them work it out. Don’t send hate, send support. Delete your hate posts. Don’t ‘defend’ Stephen. Support Stephen. Love Stephen. Let him know we’ve got his back and agree with his decision. We’re all upset deep down, but you know what? I prefer a sad, bittersweet fandom to an enraged, hate-filled fandom.

Something I noticed about the video Stephen dropped
Is anyone else heart broken not just at the part where Stephen was practically crying at the end, yes that was painful, but I started crying at the part where Stephen listed how hard he tried.
Guys the part where he listed the characters hurt, didn’t it? Each personality he listed that he made especially the mm hosuh one brought me to tears.
I’ve had experience in show biz, mostly theatrics and voice acting, so this cut like a knife. One of the main things I think about when trying to bring more to the table to get ahead is how I play my characters.
He knew that a lot of the fandom loves the slight hinting. He did that for us to try and make himself noticed and worth more to Daniel.
Guys.
This hurts my heart.

About Stephan Leaving
I’m not present in this fandom quite often. In fact, I just got into it recently with my girlfriend. We get a laugh out of their videos and especially love Stephan and Hosuh cause we see a lot of ourselves in them.
Stephan is leaving.
That being said, PLEASE DO NOT GO AFTER DAN. As Stephan said in his video, he wants this to be peaceful. He personally said there are two sides to every story. Stephan is actively waiting for Dans response.
Though what Dan did is horrible (from what we’ve heard), we have to respect Stephans wishes. And in the meantime give him time to explain what happened from his perspective. Calling him out will only make the situation worse as thats exactly what Stephan does not want.
Please be open-minded and patient. Things have a natural way of working out. If you’re sad, scared, upset, or even angry, just know that eventually things will be okay.

DanPlan Breakup
So many of you know by now that Stephen has left DanPlan and as much as it pains me I respect his decision. He, along with Hosuh, were the reason I even got into the channel.
I feel bad for everyone, with Stephen leaving Hosuh had to watch his friends fight and not be able to do anything about it, Daniel will get a backlash with this along with the channel itself and Stephen lost a friend that he knew since middle school.
I just... I agree with Stephen, he should have gotten more respect, more worth and I know there won't be any other channel like DanPlan so now I say, thank you Stephen for the memories and videos you did in DanPlan, thank you Hosuh for always animating and being the moral support of the group, thank you Dan for starting the idea and giving us the chance to even know you three and all the other animators and friends in the show.
All I say now is, I wish you three good luck in the paths you have chosen

PLEASE DONT UNSUB FROM DANPLAN JUST NOW STEPHEN ISNT IN THE VIDEOS OR BECAUSE YOU ARE ANGRY AT DANIEL (WHOSE SIDE STILL HASNT BEEN HEARD)
i mean ofc you can if you want to but so many animators and people involved use the channel as a source of income and live on what they get from the channel. supporting stephen is important but also supporting people the animators and hosuh on the channel is still big as well.
i saw a post acknowledging this and i just realised how important stephen leaving is and how it can affect the channel and people involved who didnt contribute to stephens departure. stick to supporting. this is also my ONLY post on the departure.

As a disclaimer, I want to say that I am coming from a position where I only have a limited understanding as to what happens behind the scenes of DanPlan. I am not here to take sides, nor am I here put down any members of DanPlan.
I am a film student, and as such, have taken production classes that have allowed me to observe that, for the most part, the issue that has arisen between the members of Dan Plan is a common case of director & actor not seeing eye to eye. Because of this, I pose that the group looks into hiring a producer, as doing so allows for professional communication between people in the entertainment industry. From the lens of a film student, Daniel plays the role of director/screenwriter more so than anything else, and Stephen had played the role of actor. Both have a key parts in the machine of creating quality entertainment. As those roles, however, one must understand that, naturally, they do not speak the same language. They need an experienced, professional mediator that is is in no way affiliated with the creative aspect of the channel, one that could handle the finances from an unbiased standpoint. The need for this is further solidified by the fact that DanPlan is a group of friends that function as independent creators on YouTube, a platform that demands that its creators (of whatever age or level of experience) play the role of a director, producer, screenwriter, and actor- all at once, with no support. This fact adds further pressure and strain to the publicated relationships between creators, namely, between the members of DanPlan- causing any sort of conflict or creative differences between them to fester.
I firmly believe that this turnout proves that YouTube (with its newfound ability to create careers), needs to supply its professional content creators with administrative support (as most do not possess the knowledge to navigate the entertainment industry), especially as many popular YouTube channels go from inexperienced creatives goofing around to full-fleged companies. A prime example of a company that provides such resources is WebToon, as it supplies its creators with reliable, well-trained editors, and the fact that YouTube has not already done something of the sort heavily implies that it severely undervalues the effort that goes behind creating quality content on their platform, (especially because creators with newfound fame that seek out assistance are prime targets for talent agencies & Multi-channel Networks that mean to take advantage of their naivety.)
I have no doubt that every single member of DanPlan has done their part to assure the creative success of the channel, it is because of this that I feel that the issue between the members will mend with time & space. In the meantime, systems should be put into place that will assure that this does not happen again, so that everyone feels heard and no one overworks themself to the point where resentment for those who are not directly under the same pressure has room to grow.
Thank you, Stephen for your contribution to the channel, your sense of humor and chemistry will be missed beyond compare, and thank you, DanPlan, for providing content that has gotten myself and others through the toughest of times despite hardships any of you endured. I hope that my professional opinion will reach you.

Can we also please acknowledge that Stephen admitted he would have never joined the channel if he knew that in five years, he would have lost Daniel as a friend.
My heart hurt from that confession.
