went to the nature reserve and spent a long time talking to one of the rangers about owls & he told me some really interesting facts (like how their eyes are too big for their sockets). we walked three miles, used the merlinID app which picked up so many species of birds then D gasped and there was a sika deer 10 feet away from us!!! it wasn't scared at all it just stood there munching on leaves. almost cried with happiness. we also saw some huge curly wild pigs. & then got some homemade sandwiches from the cafe before going home. the sun came out for us!!!

had a massive panic attack about travelling this weekend and other life shit. drove myself crying to the beach listening to new fontaines dc full blast. tried to ring my dad but he was at work so hauled myself out of the car and immediately felt calmer as soon as i got to the seafront. walked for a while looking at the algae and the huge blue sky and the pebbles (picked a beautiful orange one with an indent perfect for my thumb - felt the weight of it in my hand and how quickly it got warm - calmed me down a little more). drove back listening to music even louder. anxious again now but i'm glad i went out. nothing's ever easy.

went to st catherine's chapel yesterday. the young women in the village used to climb the hill to kneel and wish that they'd find a husband. st catherine: the saint of spinsters and virgins. it really is a thin place -- i was tired and aching from being so ill earlier in the week, but it was lovely and windy on the hill and my spirit felt light. i miss living in the hills.
