"why mister spock are you feeling emotion?" and he lets spock do the vulcan equivalent of giggling and kicking his feet and going "haha nooo silly i'm a VULCAN i don't do that!!" and kirk's like "oh my apologies mister spock of COURSE not" and then they make consensual loving eyecontact with one another while smiling. when BONES senses blood in the water (spock having an emotion) he will grab spock by the scruff of his fucking neck and shake until dead. like a dog with a squirrel.

Oh my God, could you do a top 10 for Michiru's outfits? I feel like they tried so hard to make her a fashion plate (as she well she should be) but were so often stymied by the 90s-ness of it all. I'd love to see what you chose.

The real question is, how will I narrow it down to only ten?? Michiru’s style is so hard to pin down because sometimes it works flawlessly and sometimes it’s hard to justify, in-universe, why she would ever choose to wear what she is wearing. 1. Look. I think there must be a story behind this one. I think this used to be a favorite tunic of Michiru’s; the pale lavender with the white belt is simple but charming. One day she was painting another one of her space whales, and Haruka yelled something from the kitchen about the shrimp paella leftovers in the fridge. In the one uncalculated move she had ever made in her life, she turned around and lowered her brush, leaving a short streak of dark blue on her dress. She tried everything; cold water, rubbing alcohol, Haruka’s Tide-to-Go stick, but she could still see a faint line where the space-colored paint was. Haruka would insist she couldn’t tell there was a stain, but Michiru would always know, and she couldn’t live like that. The next day, she bought a bottle of fabric dye. If she couldn’t remove the accidental stain, then she would make it an intentional one. She wears it as an act of defiance, a warning to the universe that Michiru Kaioh is not one to be defeated.

FMPOV a lot of the appeal to edgeworth as a character is watching him cling to being a halfway decent person by his fingernails which its why its such a shame when he gets too softened. this is a guy who is deeply misanthropic and formulated his worldview around people all carrying secret guilt that they need to be punished for and that's a current that will be pushing him in a direction he needs to swim against for the rest of his life. and he's spent so long rationalizing it that he can't recognize it as the bed of quicksand that all of his Facts and Logic™ are built on. which is fun. and then by contrast there's phoenix who knows damn well that he is letting his emotional landscape fully influence his concept of reality and completely leaning into it. and i think the thing about phoenix is that no matter how much of a bitch he is he doesn't have any taste for cruelty, i think he is sort of fundamentally incapable of understanding on an emotional level Why people would want to do horrible things to each other. and because he can't empathize with the perspective of doing something cruel without there being something that'll explain it, he is going to continue to be blindsided by genuine acts of cruelty for the rest of his entire life. which is also fun! and it's why they both think the other person is insane! and theyre both right because both of them are insane.

The Ring of Soshern (YES)

In 1987, a certain Star Trek fanzine called Alien Brothers was published, including the story “The Ring of Soshern”–the very first pon farr in a cave K/S story ever. The story “The Ring of Soshern” had been quietly passed around since 1968, due to its sensitive content. When it was published in 1987 in Alien Brothers, a few passionate fans banded together and tried to destroy every copy. Only a few pages and illustrations of the forty-page story survived.

Or so I thought.

Every once in a while, ever since I found out about it, I would check up on ksarchive to see if somehow it turned up. Nothing in four years, no information whatsoever. Monday I’m driving 15 hours roundtrip to finally meet Alien Brothers which was kindly donated to a university. Hopefully, I will be allowed to scan it or take photos. Worst case scenario, I type it up word-for-word, all of it.

I really can’t believe it. The fandom has mourned its loss for decades and now it’s back from the dead.

Any suggestions for where to host it? It isn’t my own work obviously so I’m not sure what to do.

Edit: I called ahead and they said they might be able to let me scan it. However, I will be able to take pictures so :)
