when henry asked the greek class why theyre excited about a snowfall in april as its just going to kill all the flowers, spring being a symbol for youth that dies as a consequence of the snow-induced maddening fbi investigation, leading to all of them losing their innocence just because of one treacherous winter

i love more women appreciating grey hair because i've always found it so beautiful and seeing older women around me talk about it with fear and anxiety, discussing how they'd dye it, seeing media where the second a woman gets a grey hair they'd shamefully pluck it or dye it away, like it was something literally immutably horrifying happening to their bodies. really made me sad as a child to see, but i love seeing more and more women embrace it and hate having to hide natural changes to their bodies, especially when it's something so lovely.

soooo much of the modern conception of gender is based around products and consumerism that people can’t even identify actual misogyny anymore. People reply to posts “It’s sexist to hate on something so many women enjoy” and that something would be a Stanley cup

donna tartt was a crazy woman for making julian and henrys relationship mirror that of fuckass aristoteles and alexander the great
julian is essentially just an 80s aristoteles because he lives in solitude, believes in natural hierarchies and aristocracies, places virtue and studies above all, his most famous student — alexander the great — ends up conquering the world and then when said student isnt of use to him anymore he runs away in fear

Yea, for I was copying the Bible. And it came to pass that I wrote "gaudius", or joy, when the intended word was "gladius" or sword. And all of the other monks did mock me with cruel words and jests. And when I did recite the Scripture at dinner, I coughed, and Brother Abelard did ask if I had meant to say "gaudius". And on the way to the dormitories I did tell of my encounter with the fearsome black hen of Cheshire, and Brother William asketh of me why I had not slain it with my gladius. And so it came to pass that I took a vow of silence and ceased to speak with all worldly men. Amen.

“Since one cannot educate adults, the word “education” has an evil sound in politics; there is a pretense of education, when the real purpose is coercion without the use of force.”
