There's been a lot of Discourse about SWers on Fetlife recently, I wish people could just be normal about things. What's your experience of that site been like? Any particular reason you're not active there anymore?

I used it when I was first transitioning bc I was just really eager to meet people and do stuff (dating apps were a little less established then and the trans community was a lot smaller), but I don't use it anymore because like... Why would I?

It (intentionally and presumably to protect the privacy of cishets who don't wanna be ~outed~ about owning a flogger or whatever) isn't a viable dating app. Like you can't search for other trans girls in a given city (I actually got a warning once for using a script that would crawl through all the users in a location and then give you a list of the ones with a given gender and age etc lmao).

It's barely a viable social media platform. You have to be logged in to view anything (again to protect the privacy of people who aren't used to being openly viewed as deviants) and it does a poor job of imitating what sites like tumblr or twitter do (it is cute that it has basically forums tho).

I guess the events section is genuinely dope? Very cool to know which crossdressers are considering showing up for the bukkake at the local porno theater next week. I'm not really looking for events to go to these days tho.
