there has been an update on the qsmp admin situation from the french union. i am too exhausted by all the everything else going on in the mcyt community lately to properly break it down. summary is there is still room for a negotiated solution, but the union is gonna be pushing for backpay (which is deserved) and it's unclear how many of the problem staff quackity fired (the union says quackity only fired one manager but obviously since they promise confidentiality they can't cite their source and quackity definitely said on stream that he fired multiple people)

hey, remember when like five people were live at once and we all emerged from streams to ask what had happened on each other's streams and the slimearianas tearfully reported that their guys had had sex and we were like "so like metaphorically" and the slimearians had to report, shaking and crying, that no, the words "full minecraft penetration" had been used and they discussed who was on top. and played coldplay. qsmp. you just don't get experiences like this anywhere else.

if you’re going to miss the qsmp content whilst the server is down, may i suggest indulging in some of the fantastic fics that this fandom has to offer - there are fics of all sizes, genres, ships (romantic and platonic), basically whatever you could want, there’s a fic for it!

fic writers in this fandom are phenomenally talented, and i urge you to show them some appreciation during this time without the server - some of the fics are so realistic it’s like you’re reading canon lore anyway :)

i would suggest ao3 as a starting off point as it’s very easy to filter tags based on what you may/may not want to see.

show appreciation to the authors, they work hard and let’s get each other through this break and the server works behind the scenes to iron out the issues🌟

Purgatory gave us some great things and a lot of awful things.

In spite of the admins driving a wedge between us all on purpose, let's do what we can to mend the rifts.

I'm a Bolas main, I'm hugging Soulfire and GGN mains. I'm sorry yall were done so dirty in a lot of ways. We were all wronged, let's move past it and stop giving the toxic admins what they want.

If after the investigation it's discovered that any beloved adm has been removed or replaced we accept it and move on, yeah?

I'm talking;

Chayadmin, Dappmin, Leo's admin, Ramon's admin, Talluladmin, Ricardão, Pommin, Empanadmin, Sunny's admin, Pepito's admin, Xandão (adm 18), any other admin that I can't think of off the top of my head.

We have no way of knowing what the adms are like outside of the characters they play so if for any reason one of those adms is removed after the investigation, it is not our place to get upset about it.

You are allowed to be upset that a character you like has changed but main adm changes have happened before with both Chayadmin and Ramon's admin, two of the og eggs, and they both remained true to the character.

If an adm is removed after an investigation like this, there is a reason.

I'm not trying to say that any of the eggy actors specifically are bad people, I'm just pointing out that if, and it's a big if, it is discovered that one of them has been removed from the project after this investigation, it is not our place to get mad about it. They will have been removed for a reason.

i'm glad quackity is becoming more involved in running the actual server, and i think he's handling the situation as well as he can. but it sucks a lot that he wasn't ALREADY highly involved in how his passion project was run and how his money was spent. he is very young, he is a busy law student and content creator, he is intensely private. this was a tough lesson for him on responsibility.

i think those of us who've been watching since the beginning aren't super surprised by how little he knew about things behind the scenes. his character wasn't even allowed to /op because he wanted to be on equal footing with the other players. he constantly mentioned how he "doesn't know what's going to happen today" during events when other members would ask questions. he doesn't seem to know shit about the mods they've chosen or how the custom game mechanics work. he's doesn't play on the server much at all!

so seeing dream stans and other mcyt fans huff and puff about how quackity is lying and obviously knew about everything bad going on is odd. like this man really doesn't know shit about how his server is run or what happens on it. THAT'S a fair thing to criticize and something i agree is irresponsible. it's not fair to claim he's lying about not knowing things when every indication for the last year has pointed viewers in that direction. he's really been super hands off about everything except adding new languages, which is kind of his whole focus.

anyway kudos to the french admins and aypierre for speaking up and sparking workplace change. very on brand for the french LOL

also reminder to any younger viewers who are like REAAAALLY invested in qsmp to stop catastrophizing. it'll be alright. it's literally just minecraft, no one is in any danger.
