A Declining sight, Coal

A once very regular sight on the Indiana Rail Road is starting to become very seldom, with the use of coal in rapid decline, the trains are in decline as well. This train is a Coal job from Indiana Southern in Petersburg, Indiana to Bear Run Coal Mine in Dugger, Indiana. This shot features a trio of pure SD40-2 power in a working element of coal. Beginning of the End

At the time of the photos this was a soon to be an endangered train for the Indiana Rail Road. In a different sense this train is HWTHT, a Hiawatha Yard in Jasonville, Indiana to Terre Haute (CSX Baker Yard) turn in Terre Haute Indiana. Back for Redemption

After the previous chase of the Indiana Rail Road's Marathon local being quite bad. I set out a mission to achieve a more successful railroad chase. So I set up at Palestine Airport Road where there was still good sunlight and set my settings how i wanted them. Setbacks and Sunsets

After hearing an Indiana Rail Road train PAUT-3 departing Palestine Yard, I set for a chase to Sand cut Hill a decent grade for the railroad and Route 33 highway along side. being rushed and lack of attention to camera settings (very rookie move). I had my shutter speed too high for the dark scenery surrounding Sand cut. Which made the pictures too dark. But the Sunset picture turned out fairly nice. I like this new camera. Grain Chase

On a early Saturday morning the crew for GLCNIL begun their work at Palestine. becoming aware that this move was occurring I ventured out to just outside of Lincoln land Ethanol Refinery. After catching them I went to the East end of Robinson, just east of the Marathon Refinery. I settled for my last photos to be just west of Robinson. Tribute to the Chessie System

Recently CSX has introduced their own Heritage program. And as a result this Chessie System Heritage locomotive numbered #1973 had been released. This is the first time this engine has been on the CSX CE&D Subdivision on June 27th, 2023. These photos were taken in Sullivan, Indiana.
