Staying Healthy
“People who visited their doctor at least twice a year were 3.2 times more likely to keep their blood pressure under control than those who saw their doctor once a year or less…” The American Heart Association did a recent study on high blood pressure and how it can affect multiple areas of your health; these are key factors in maintaining a long and happy life. Doctor visits were found to be the greatest predictor on health; those who visited the doctor were the healthiest.
Your health is very important. Being a firm that mostly represents truckers and those injured on the job, we see a lot of health issues and we hope that you take care of yourselves. Make necessary lifestyle changes such as losing weight, eating healthy and engaging in physical activity, and if necessary, take the proper medications.

The Role of Forensic Work in Dispensing Justice
Despite the alleged inaccuracies in the depiction of forensic work in TV shows, the fact remains that it is a very crucial aspect in proving a criminal case. While there are other kinds of evidence that can be used – eye witness testimonies, electronic or other paper evidence, circumstantial evidence, etc. – DNA testing still is regarded as one of the best types of evidence when prosecuting criminal cases.
With so much at stake, it is therefore highly important that the integrity of such forensics testing be maintained as securely as possible.

Preventable Medical Errors
Tumblr media
Research shows 440,000 patients die each year from preventable medical errors.
But finding out how safe your local hospital is can be a difficult task.
Recently, an arm of the federal government called the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced it was going to stop tracking and publicly reporting eight egregious medicals errors that included when foreign objects are left in patient’s bodies after surgery and when a patient receives the wrong blood type in a hospital!
The good news is that after the USA Today exposed this policy decision and after many patient safety groups weighed-in, the federal government reversed its decision and will now resume reporting these errors.
Preventable medical errors kill and seriously injure hundreds of thousands of Americans every year. Any discussion of medical negligence that does not involve preventable medical errors ignores this fundamental problem. And while some would prefer to focus on doctors’ insurance premiums, health care costs, or alternative compensation systems – anything other than the negligence itself – reducing medical errors is the best way to address all the related problems. Preventing medical errors will lower health care costs, reduce doctors’ insurance premiums, and protect the health and well-being of patients.
States across America are considering legislation that would limit the rights of injured patients while providing no accountability for medical errors.
Tell your representatives about the preventable medical error epidemic plaguing this country and urge them to prioritize patient safety and transparency!
We have helped several victims of medical error and have helped to get them financial compenstation, corrective medical care and most importantly peace of mind. If you have been a victim of a preventable medical error, you need to call us today! Call (402) 467-3303 for a FREE consultation and find out what we can do for you.

Reuters: A 4-year-old boy’s death last month is the first that can be linked directly to a potent enterovirus strain that has sickened more than 500, many of them children. A New Jersey health official said Sunday that Eli Waller’s cause of death was determined to be Enterovirus D68, based on test results from the CDC. At least four others have died, but it is unclear how much of a role the virus played.
