Legend of the Seagullmen - Legend of the Seagullmen
Legend of the Seagullmen is proof not only that a supergroup can transcend even the sum of its parts, but that a concept album doesn’t need to take itself seriously in any way shape or form to put out a truly epic story. With tracks spanning hard rock, prog and heavy metal and ranging from blistering facemelters to gloomy power ballads, this album has something for everyone and manages to tell you all you need to know about who the Seagullmen are.

Del the Funky Homosapien & Amp Live - Gate 13
Del and Amp Live have put together a nostalgic throwback album in Gate 13. With beats that borrow from 90s hip-hop stylings and Del’s inarguably alternative flow, it combines into a fun sound that is a breath of fresh air among other modern releases. It really delivers something different that stands out on it’s own.

At The Gates - To Drink From The Night Itself
If At The Gates’ long awaited return in 2014 was proof that they haven’t missed a step, then 2018s To Drink From The Night Itself is further proof that they are the kings of the Gothenburg sound and they aren’t going anywhere for a long while. From the first riff this album feels right at home with their old library and still holds ground with all their contemporaries.

You can feel the presence of many genres all over this breakout pop album. From hip-hop to soul and funk, Janelle navigates so many musical and vocal stylings and fuses them all into a style of her own that flows effortlessly through this full album. The Start of Something
This may not be much but this marks the start of the music blog I have wanted to write for years. While it might not be timely at all, the first posts are going to be my top 20 albums of 2018 as I worked on compiling this list for a long time but never got to post it. This will be more for me to show that I could finally push through with this than for anyone else to read, but if anyone enjoys it or picks up on an album they didn’t hear before, then that’s just a bonus. So here goes...
