i’m sorry to hear that things have been rough lately, that always just the icing on the fucking cake. kids tend to have their moments though, you know? there are some days kins and kai are just absolute angels, then the next day their queens of havoc and i’m struggling to keep my wits about me. but, in all honesty, if you need a break or something, i can steal the little fella and drag nikki to disney for a day with all the kiddos, maybe that’ll tire him out some?

I couldn’t imagine having more than one child. Two little nightmares running around ruining my mental stability? Absolutely not. You’re a stronger person than I will ever be for managing that. As for that, no thanks. I would rather not have Nicole taking Asher. If I wanted him to go to Disney I’d take him. Maybe we could get the three kids together and take them sometime tomorrow? Maybe early enough to have a decent night after they pass out.

Brody sighed deep from his chest, “I would love to do that man. Unfortunately I am a recovered alcoholic who can no longer drink like a fish and forget about my personal woes. The advice to get a babysitter does sound like a good idea though. Perhaps I’ll call his grandparents. Thanks.”

Life has proven to be a rather difficult affair lately. My work schedule is light for the next week, and has been for the previous two, which I thought would alleviate stress from me. However, in exchange for work being a cake walk, I got the burden of having a child who cannot handle himself properly thrown at me. For the past eight days Asher has been a walking nightmare. If it weren’t the persistent and repetitive questioning of any and everything (including what I say, and what I tell him) driving me crazy, his determination to destroy all objects in his path certainly would. I am trying with all of my might to remain calm and collected and to understand he’s only 5. That he is understanding the world in a different way than I am, and that I cannot fly off of the handle at all of his insane tendencies. This, however, is exceptionally hard and I have found myself wanting to drink like a fish. Any advice? // @hhhqstarters​

Brody: Nicole, I got back into town roughly 25 minutes ago and am en route to my house. I was wondering if I could perhaps pick Asher up on the way there? I haven't seen him in too long and I miss him.

Brody: If not tonight, would tomorrow work better for you? Regardless, I have plenty of stored visitation days and I would like to cash them in.

It used to be my understanding that as long as you were before the hour of ten o’clock at night, noise was allowed? Maybe I have been mistaken all these years. “A singles convention?” Brody asked, a raised brow and slight offense to his tone. “I think I’d rather die single than have to deal with the personal humiliation of attending one of those dreadful events. I appreciate the suggestion though.” His expression softened a little, “sorry to hear about your 30 previous dates though. Hopefully 31 is the charm for you.”

❛ the price one pays for greatness. it’s a struggle. sometimes you just have to create boundaries between work and actually having a life. have you tried to going out, getting a drink? you never know who you might meet, running into someone by chance at a bar beats meeting someone over an app. you could try going to the ivy? or you know, my little bar gets some major traffic on the weekends. you never know who you could bump into there over the weekend? ❜

“My entire intention is to find myself in a bar, talking to a stranger, hopeful that something will be created out of the interaction. You’ve made a point though. Who does know what could happen? I’ll give The Ivy or your bar a try when I get the next opportunity.”
