unexpected sick day
noticed I was feeling super chilly last night and pulled out the thermometer. Definitely I’m out of whack. My basal temperate is 95.5 normally but it was hovering around 102. Went to bed. Still there. This is shit.

great. Little ocular migraines can be set off by sinus infection pressing on the back of the eyeball. Neti pot chronicles.
as if I needed one more thing to deal with today. Chronic dehydration and infection. And way too much stress.

when your game camera sends you a picture of your cows behinds as they make their way towards the road.
needless to say it spurred a quick response. An hour later they are back where they belong. Neighbors now have cow tracks through their yard. Crisis averted. Nothing to see.,

birthday dinner for my eldest
She asked for shrimp. I know she likes roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon and balsamic. And rice, and salad. Cheesecake for dessert. Hard to believe my little girl turned 38. I still remember the birds chirping the day she was born. 12:06 am. The birds woke me up at 4.

three random
I only have 3 followers. I’ll play.
I’m autistic. In my day we called it Asperger’s which I was diagnosed with when I was 13. I think of it as an asset. I’m smarter and more persistent than normal folks. I’m also difficult.
My left leg is longer than my right by 11mm.
I have 5 grown children the youngest of which is over 30. They are cooler than me, more fun than me, and delightfully themselves. I have 11 grand kids. 2 in heaven. One in the oven. Of my five kids three are happily married and 2 are engaged.
I bought a bespoke suit to wear to two weddings this year. I’m sure it’s also going on my final voyage with me to my funeral.
Three wearings. Less than my hydraulic rear remote control for my tractor. Win win.

It’s mid April. Why is a mosquito trying to give me an unsolicited blood draw?
I’m not making this up. Despite having the coldest winter on record in the last 40 years, little blood sucker chose tonight to die.,
this is the big birthday month for my family. 3 born in April. The rest of us are scattered. Why put 3 into the same month. Oh wait, I had something to do with that. At least for two of them. Never mind.

nothing to see here
I was on a meeting call during the eclipse and I watched my colleague in NY turn on the lights as it got dark. No dark here on the west coast. Not even a smidgeon. Ok maybe a few percent but not like 1979 when I was waiting on the hill at Goldendale observatory in Washington for the event. I had my Celestron 8 telescope stopped down with a Mylar filter. My Canon camera was mounted up and ready. We counted down the hours… and a cloud blocked the totality for a full 2 of the 6 minutes. I got some Good pictures . But not of the totality. Regrets much? No. I was on the hill with the best view in the world. I still have a can of dark.

Departure (moody blues)
Be it sight, sound, smell, or touch
There's something
Inside that we need so much
The sight of a touch, or the scent of a sound
Or the strength of an oak with roots deep in the ground
The wonder of flowers to be covered and then to burst up
Thru tarmac, to the sun again
Or to fly to the sun without burning a wing
To lie in a meadow and hear the grass sing
To have all these things in our memories hoard
And to use them
To help us
To find
I was in the colosseum in Seattle 1981 for their concert. I’ve was in collage. My friends dad let us in to the sold out concert. He worked security. We sat on the steps. Stage right. About 50 feet from the stage. Back then we sat. Mesmerized by a legendary band. It was breathtaking.
