you all keep reblogging without the update
Honestly like, lesbian monogamy is the most attractive thing to me. The day I get to make my butch wife dinner, watch a movie and cuddle in bed with our dogs till we both fall asleep is gonna be the best day of my life.

we need to get Kinki Sharyo to rework the type 7s to run at bullet train speed instead of continuing to buy units from the genocide-mongers at CAF

Furthermore if anyone at my job spoke to me the way many of my grade school teachers did, I would be talking to HR on the regular
It's incredible the extent of abuse we just accept that happens in schools. Students are yelled at, shamed, degraded. It was almost a running joke at my school that full-class punishments are against the Geneva convention, to which the response was always "I your teacher don't have to follow the Geneva conventions" which is a crazy thing to be told at any stage of life but especially when you're a kid.
Not even to mention the amount of times I was accused of, and punished for, shit that I fully did not do, purely because I was a child with no agency, and therefore not worth listening to.
Now as an adult I spend a crazy amount of money on therapy to fucking de-program the constant feeling of being in trouble, walking on eggshells, and a general lack of confidence in my abilities, that I developed from growing up in that environment.
And I did well in school. Got As and Bs, Finished HS with a 3.9, finished college Summa Cum Laude. I really love learning new things, I taught myself how to code at a now-professional level.
And the things that make me resent my school ling really have nothing to do with the curriculum,
It's the de-personing that is pervasive in American schools, public and private. That's why kids hate it.
adults are always talking about how “kids will do anything to get out of school” and okay, first of all that’s not true, but I think we really need to ask why that idea holds so much sway.
children’s brains are hard-wired to take in new information and acquire new skills. consider, for a moment, just how thoroughly our society had to fuck up the concept of education for it to be a normal thing to assume kids are universally desperate to avoid learning.

I know people that can and do operate computers effectively without a mouse.
If you're working in the command line you really don't need it.
Furthermore VIM is a whole thing
Things that work in fiction but not real life
torture getting reliable information out of people
knocking someone out to harmlessly incapacitate them for like an hour
jumping into water from staggering heights and surviving the fall completely intact
calling the police to deescalate a situation
rafting your way off a desert island
correctly profiling total strangers based on vibes
effectively operating every computer by typing and nothing else
ripping an IV out of your arm without consequences
heterosexual cowboy

I remember seeing the Incredibles when I was 4 and I had to leave the theater during one of the fight scenes because it was too scary
The first movie I remember super presciently and positively was Tron Legacy when I was 10. The synth line in the opening title sequence gave me goose bumps, and now I make electronic music as a direct result of chasing that high.
what's the first movie you remember seeing in theaters? don't try and be all edgy and cool and say like tetsuo: the iron man. be honest.
Go!!
