In 1984, Osamu Tezuka designed a rabbit mascot character for Itoham Foods and their line of yogurt snacks called Biogur. The rabbit, named Bio-chan, appeared in several ad campaigns used to promote the new product. She's seen here in a commercial from 1985 with actor Sean Connery, who is best known for playing James Bond. Unfortunately, Biogur isn't made anymore, and Bio-chan isn't being used by the company at the moment.

I finally got the time to do a painting!! Decided to give Cobalt a little love! I had some trouble getting the right values with watercolors, and not everything turned out the way I wanted. Still, I’m happy I got to do this, and I think I learned some things on the way too. Bonus close up:

And the preliminary sketch! Admittedly should have done a larger clean layout between this and the final painting, but again, a lesson learned 😅

I had somebody DM me asking to find a piece of advertisement, but I can’t find it anywhere on the internet. I tried searching in English and in Japanese, and I couldn’t find any results that were similar to what I was looking for. I was wondering if any of my followers might have memories of the seeing the same advertisement or have it saved somewhere.

It’s a Black Jack advertisement; I’m pretty sure it was for Pocky. Black Jack turns pink at a certain point, and I’m pretty sure they used the designs for the 2004 anime. I just need to know if this is real or something I hallucinated. 😅
