I think it's so interesting that when the Night Nurse goes through Charles' trauma, she does see him being attacked by the other boys, sees him running alone through the night, but she never sees him dying. That only comes later, when she is searching for love.

And there is no fear in that memory, even if there is pain, there is just Edwin and the light he is bringing, metaphorically and physically, into Charles' life, there is smiling and joking and listening to stories. There is Edwin.

So, yeah, I don't think dying was a bad experience for Charles. Not a good one, per se, but one that led to the best thing in his existence.

Okay I've seen people mention that Edwin's human costume is always female, but I havent seen anybody mention that Charles is the one who picks their costumes, like, that's fanfiction levels of repression, why do you want your best mate to be a woman, Charles?

There’s something to be said about how Edwin was killed by a group of boys who wanted to mess with him meeting Charles who is dying in an attic, cold and alone, because he wanted to stop his friends from hurting another kid

Loved when Edwin was like "There's nothing we can do, every time I try to run it chases and kills me again" and then Charles goes "Well yeah but now you have me and this BOMB" and promptly chucks a lit molotov at the spider demon

I like the new twist on the bury you gays trope

They are still dead, but we unburied them. Their ghosts are now haunting the narrative forever. Yeah they are still being gay and dramatic but they have eternity to figure it out. Literally can not get rid of these gays now. They don't even have bodies to bury. Can't send em to superhell they'll climb right back out.
