still stuck out of state. finally got mobile to not remove my small text every few seconds but it's still giving me a whole host of other issues. funeral went alright, it really seemed like over a hundred friends and relatives showed up to bid my aunt farewell, and my aunt's abuser looked as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs the whole time, so there's that. how've y'all been

Tried to get to some writing here but I'm gonna be real, either I forgot how annoying formatting is on mobile, or it's just gotten a lot worse since the last time I tried this. Indentations won't stick, it keeps resetting to normal text size, if I try to italicize or bold one word it'll lag a second and then do it to the whole paragraph. It's more than I have the patience or the energy for just now. I'll be able to get to things better from my laptop when I have time to bring it out and get set up, but every day since getting down here has been busy.

For now I'll be mostly on Discord for writing I think. Much more manageable for me at present. I'll be heading back home probably around May 10th if I had to wager a guess, so it shouldn't be too terribly long before I can get back to things here properly.

Just got to Louisiana! Kansas City's a nightmare to drive through, really wish I didn't have to do that again on the way back, but it is what it is. Gonna try to get some writing in soon here, possibly later tonight, but OCs have been holding my attention moreso. So we'll see where that goes!

I have a cup of coffee with about 12, maybe 13 shots of espresso, so I'm optimistic.

I like to think CT in the early days of Project Freelancer was a lot more bubbly & sociable. She was more innocent, genuinely believed they were good people, that they were making a difference in the fight against the Covenant. She learned pretty quickly how competitive it was, and it got hard to make friends on the same skill level; most of those she did befriend eventually turned on her, and in several cases, that was her own fault. Some she pushed away intentionally, to protect them. Others, she deemed to be just as bad as the Director, and wanted nothing to do with. It didn't take her especially long to get suspicious of the Director and his activities.

Wash was a good friend and arguably one of the Freelancers she liked the most - her best friend in the Project - but as she got more disenfranchised with them, she began putting out small 'tests' to see who she could trust. Wash failed spectacularly. Not because he was a bad man, but because he was gullible, because he was naïve. She half expected he'd betray her accidentally by letting something slip while trying to defend her against one of South's tirades, after CT had left. Her recourse was to grow cold and cruel to him, to push him away, and protect him from what she was planning. As far as she was concerned, if he hated her, he wouldn't be hurt by her defection, but she also left a breadcrumb trail in case he was suspicious enough to follow her. Of those she tried to befriend early on, she was only still remotely loyal to Washington and North Dakota by the time she defected. North had never done wrong by her, and she still felt she could trust him to a small degree, but his loyalty to South made him a liability. Carolina was one she so desperately wanted to trust, but she was too far in her own head at the time, and CT didn't see a possibility of Carolina listening to her.

She'd live to regret not taking that chance.

         "Cursed, huh? ... Yeah. I think I know that feeling. Tell you what, next time something like that happens while I'm there, I'll back you up. Better than being backed into, right? Let's see if car beats holograms." Spoken in a more lighthearted tone, but she gives no true indication as to whether she's fully joking. She might actually be prepared to punch an automobile if Wash gets hurt. Would it work? Probably not. But it'd be something for them both to laugh about later, and that's worth more than most of what Project Freelancer has done for either of them, in her book.

"Yeah, I'll keep that in mind for next time." Wash laughs, but there's something bittersweet about it. "I gotta tell you, I have no idea. Cars and I have never got along. The battery died in my sister's car when she was teaching me how to drive. Pretty sure I'm just cursed."

Looks like we'll be heading out of state for the funeral either tomorrow or Wednesday. I'll be using mobile mostly from then on so if my formatting gets kinda funky I apologize. Gonna try to keep writing while I'm gone. I know I'm not doing a lot, but it's helping. I'm just sorry I'm so slow with it.

if I can get back into RWBY & Red vs Blue fully I may just pick up more muses I used to play. I fell off the bandwagon so long ago but damn if I don't miss the antics I could get up to with that. may be fun to revisit writing Torchwick and Jaune! Also do kinda miss writing North and Theta.
