CASE Updraft Gasifiers
Fuel flexibility is the main feature of updraft multifuel gasifiers. These gasifiers can operate on either coal or biomass. CASE updraft gasifiers tolerate higher ash content, higher moisture content and greater size variation in fuel as compared to downdraft gasifiers.
In updraft gasifiers, gas is drawn out of the gasifier from the top of the fuel bed while the gasification reactions take place near the bottom. As the producer gas passes through the fuel bed, it picks-up volatile matter (tars) and moisture from the fuel. Therefore, the gas from the updraft gasifier contains condensable volatiles. The design and operation of the gasifiers is such that the gas comes out at 450-500°C temperature. At this temperature, most of the volatile hydrocarbons are in vapor form, which add to the energy content of the gas. It is most appropriate to utilize updraft gasifiers in close-coupled-hot gas mode for direct heating applications. However, if the application warrants, the scrubbing of gas to remove the volatiles/ tars is also carried out.

CASE Cooling Towers find their applicability in many Chemical Plants within India and overseas. The primary task of a CASE Cooling Tower is to dissipate the unwanted heat into the atmosphere. They represent a relatively inexpensive and dependable means of removing low-grade heat. The make-up water source is used to replenish water lost to evaporation. Block Mills are becoming increasing popular in India. Initially, block mills were setup by steel producers whose main product was wire rod. The trend is rapidly changing for TMT bars too. Today steel producers who are wanting to increase their production capacities opt for Block Mills as their finishing mill group.
Block mills come with various advantages of easy bar speed alteration, simple yet extremely effective automation, improved quality of bars and rods, compact design taking less space, just to name a few.
The objective of a CASE Block Mill is to roll the reheated steel billet into wire rods or TMT bars at speeds which are not possible with conventional finishing stands. A complete revamping of the finishing mill section including block mill, high-speed shear, brake pinch rolls, rotary drum cooling bed design ensures higher productivity up to 40m/s speeds for 8mm bars, keeping in view the highest levels of safety, product quality, and operational consistency. For wire rods CASE block mills are designed to run at speeds up to 100m/s.

CASE HSS Rolls are specifically designed and manufactured for bar mills, structure mills, and strip mills. High-Speed Steel (HSS) Rolls are known worldwide for their extended roll life, quality of end product, efficient and effective roll pass. Because of this, the roll cost per tonne is much less and mill downtown on account of pass/roll change is drastically reduced which further enhances production and makes the best use of applied resources. Many rolling mills are now understanding this and slowly and steadily shifting to HSS Rolls.
CASE HSS Rolls come with a technological edge over other roll manufacturers. The surface of CASE HSS Rolls contains a thin oxide coating. When the HSS Rolls are used with proper cooling the oxide film is held for a longer time which enhances the wear resisting property of the rolls notably. This accounts for longer roll life and helps the plant operations team to produce specific sizes with consistency.
In addition to the oxide layer technology CASE HSS rolls have high swelling factor and good thermal conductivity. The groove/pass sizes are more stable while rolling rebars and have better control of input material. Hardness of the ordinary rolls drops when temper temperature rises. On the other hand, CASE HSS Rolls hardness is always high even when the temper temperature is high. Because of this excellent technological feature CASE HSS Rolls are less prone to failure.
