Dances With Wolves (1990)
7/10
Dean Selmer delivers incredible cinematography, paired with a beautiful score by John Barry, in the American epic western, Dances with Wolves. Albeit a film consistent with “cheeseball” acting from straight-white-male lead Kevin Costner, Dances with Wolves finds redemption with its unforgettable celebration of the western frontier.
I was able to overlook the cliché “white guy saves the day” narrative due to the film’s emphasis on the human connection, and, more specifically, the film’s emphasis on grace.
