   for @rksxngyeol. â¨
âiâm curious --â chaewon admits, resting her chin on the heel of her palm. she studies sungyeolâs face as closely as she can as she speaks, not bothering to be subtle about it. âand you donât have to answer me if you donât want to, but iâm wondering, after your mga experience, would you ever do a survival show again?â ever since hearing that wendy sometimes wished she couldâve been signed privately, chaewonâs been reconsidering her stance on survival shows. is chaewon better off this way in the long run? or will she end up being overshadowed by members who had more pre-debut exposure? then, she wonders if that shit even matters in the end? or if sheâs placing too much weight on something purely because itâs unattainable to her, but she wants it regardless? âlike, if nova ever did something like the supernova project again, yâknow?â the obvious answer for her, and for most trainees she assumes, would be yes. but for some, who have had to go through it all already, wouldnât it be tiring?Â
âis it hard?â she asks, drumming the fingers of her free hand against the table beneath them. âi mean obviously itâs hard, but, how hard is it? i always thought iâd be good on tv, but now iâm thinking that i donât have the personality for it. i guess i could always fake a personality for television ... most people do that, donât they?â

  for @rksora. â¨
spying sora from across the lobby at nova entertainment, chaewon is suddenly struck by the realisation that, if she ever debuts at all, she might not even debut under nova. what company was sora under before she joined and*roma? chaewon doesnât even know. she tries not to make it too obvious that sheâs staring, but she canât help it either -- thought crisis inspired by her aside, sora is still an and*roma member. chaewon isnât the embarrassed, flustered thing that she was back when she met darae for the first time, but her heart beats a little faster nonetheless as she crosses the room to make her introduction.Â
âexcuse me, um, hi,â hands fiddling behind her back, chaewon forces herself to make eye contact with sora, no matter how much she wants to look away. why is she so nervous? sora is younger than her, isnât she? âi know youâre, like, a member of and*roma and iâm ...â pause. chaewon clears her throat and wills herself to be confident. âlet me start again, please. iâd like to introduce myself! iâm park chaewon. weâre both kind of new around here, in different ways, of course, but iâd still like to say hi. iâm a big fan of and*roma.âÂ
there. it didnât go as disastrously as she thought it would.Â

✠performing zimzalabim by red velvet fondant fancy!
       ( performing joyâs parts )
chaewon smooths out her skirt as she rises to her feet when itâs her groupâs turn to perform. itâs a multicoloured patchwork plaid miniskirt. its length is erring on the dangerous side, so sheâs got her little shorts on underneath to keep her safe, with her purple fishnets over them again. matched with a black turtleneck, she thinks the outfit might have turned out more punk than festival, but itâs too late to change it now. even so, she canât help kicking herself over it just a bit as she settles into her starting position in the practice room. chaewon supposes that this is what regular evaluations will be like, conducted within the walls of the center in seocho. her first two evaluations were outliers -- a rooftop summer party to perform at and a photoshoot opportunity. itâs sort of disappointing after the last two months to settle for performing in a practice room.
oh well, sheâll do her best anyways. she has to, if she wants to prove her point that sheâs versatile. that applies to venues too, doesnât it?
the song gets started, and so does chaewon. itâs a fun song to perform, and sheâs rehearsed it enough times by now that she knows it like the back of her hand. that comfort and familiarity with the choreography and lyrics, moving on muscle memory, allows chaewon to imbue more of that fun energy into the performance than she would have been able to had they not practiced so hard, or if they chose a song she didnât like.Â
afterwards, as she steps aside with her heart beating faster from both dancing and adrenaline, chaewon mourns the fact that she wonât always be so lucky as to perform songs that she likes. luckily for her, she can usually force herself to like something about most songs, even if it is just one specific part of the choreography that she likes. itâs still a shame.

✠preparing zimzalabim by red velvet fondant fancy!
       ( performing joyâs parts )
is she much of a gemini? probably. arenât they supposed to be two faced? chaewon supposes thatâs at least a semi-accurate descriptor of her. maybe not so much recently, but at least in the past it wouldâve been. she tries not to think about it though, and looks up positive gemini traits to make herself feel better. adaptable, lively, loyal, social. that works for chaewon. gemini are unexpected like that -- much like the song her group chooses for the month. zimzalabim.Â
zimzalabim isnât the usual kind of song that chaewon likes, but in an unanticipated turn of events, she actually really loves it. itâs got an addictive quality to it, even if the styling is questionable. she wouldnât even let her worst enemy wear anything like that green monstrosity they dressed the main vocal in. not even sheâs that much of a two faced gemini bitch.
at first, sheâs happy with the part she takes in the song. a handful of pretty singing lines, and some decent enough center time. but after rehearsing the song for a week or so, she finds herself wishing that sheâd been more ambitious in her choice of lines. she needs to stop limiting herself, she thinks. sheâd done it last month too, by picking the location for the photoshoot that she thought the coaches would choose for her in the first place. chaewon supposes that performing zimzalabim is a good start to showing off her versatility. after all, not just anyone can pull off a totally out there song like zimzalabim.Â

chaewonâs been pretty wary of any of the guys around the place ever since her mess up with the per_se member a couple of weeks back. even if she completely knows a guyâs face to see from her classes, sheâs convinced that theyâre going to turn around and tell her theyâre a member of per_se. she knows they wonât though -- after her stupid mistake, chaewon made a special effort to actually learn about her other company seniors.
as dance practice breaks and everyone starts to shuffle out in search of dinner, chaewon falls into step with one guy in particular. it takes considerable effort to do so, considering the length of his legs in comparison to hers.Â
âpark chaewon. hi.â she asserts her name before she says hello, earnestly looking up at him. âiâm still kind of fresh around here, getting to know everyone, all that kinda stuff.â stupid chaewon, she hadnât thought through how this was going to go past this point. âwhatâs your name, hm?â no matter how nervous she is, chaewon has to at least pretend to be confident. so, she smiles at him, tossing her hair over her shoulder as if sheâs one hundred per cent, totally calm.

Wendy nods as she watches Chaewon get settled across her. She rarely gets to meet the newer trainees, much less those who have been her students. The last time she met a trainee, he had scolded her to cockblocking his meeting with Luxe. He was lucky Wendy had been amused. She nods as she pays attention to Chaewonâs audition story. At least it hadnât been as public in nature as the MGAs. âIâm glad you impressed them enough to see something in you,â Wendy says with a smile. âThose casting directors are hard to please.âÂ
âSometimes I envy those who got scouted privately,â she says with a laugh. âAt least there arenât expectations or presumptions of your character.â Honestly, she was lucky that she had only been edited badly for a short while not to affect her votes in the MGAs or her place in SN Project. Though she was amused at her editing in MGA5, which she supposes was warranted. âHow has training been for you so far?â Wendy asks, redirecting the attention to Chaewon. âI get that everything can get overwhelming, but youâll eventually get used to it.âÂ
chaewon bristles with pride, smiling more to herself than at wendy. even if itâs not a direct compliment about her skill, itâs close enough for chaewon. âthank you,â she sing songs, momentarily hiding behind her hands to conceal her blush. âi didnât think i was going to pass, to be honest. i only signed up because my roommate dragged me along, so i didnât exactly have high expectations for myself. it was nice to be proven wrong.â
âreally? i envy you and all the other mga finalists, to be honest.â she tilts her head to one side, genuinely surprised. she sees the benefits of it, for sure, sheâs not stupid, but sheâs interested to hear wendyâs perspective. âi dunno, i guess iâm just kind of ... attention hungry.â thatâs probably the nicest way to put it. âitâs been going well!â she answers, quickly. âabout as well as youâd expect. the coaches are tough but thatâs their job, i suppose.â it brings her back to her childhood, to be honest. she spent so much time inside of dance studios and auditoriums, getting barked at by various teachers and directors. âotherwise ...â should she mention her run ins to wendy? âiâve run into, um, darae sunbaenim. that was really cool! iâve ... become a really big fan of your group. i met a member of per_se as well but i didnât recognise him. it was kind of embarrassing -- i just hadnât gotten a chance to look too deeply into per_se yet, you know, beyond the fact that they were and*romaâs brother group. i have now though.â

liaâs eyes widen in pleasant surprise, a slow grin blossoming across her lips. when she had asked that question, she didnât really expect to be met with an affirming answer. it was just a throwaway so as not make things awkward. after all, not everyone knows how to play an instrument even if an acoustic guitar is common. nevertheless, sheâs happy with the response.
based on experience, sheâd always had good memories with people who play the same instrument. she remembers sessions where they would all just play their guitar to whatever tune comes to mind, then someone who can sing would jump in to do so. it was such an uplifting way to pass the time. by the end of it, they would all leave in good spirits and a stronger friendship. while the same situation cannot be guaranteed here, the otherâs welcoming reply was a good indication that they were off to a nice start.
âthank you.â she bows her head slightly as she humbly accepts the compliment. âhow long have you been playing?â she asks curiously. âi feel you, though. itâs actually been awhile since i last picked up this thing. iâm happy to hear i havenât lost the skill yet.â pausing, she offers the guitar. âwould you like to play?â
chaewon steps a little closer, but she doesnât sit down yet. itâs too presumptuous ... plus, chaewon doesnât want to get her clothes dirty. even worse, if she sits down, then sheâs committing to the conversation, and to giving this stranger at least ten more minutes of her life. she seems nice and normal now, the picture of innocence sitting in the park with her guitar, but so would chaewon. not that chaewon finds herself unbearable or anything, however she is well aware that she can be on the abrasive side.Â
so really, this girl could turn out to be anyone, but chaewon is too curious not to take the chance and see.
âsince i was around ...â chaewon counts the years back on her fingers. âi mustâve been around nine? i wanted to learn how to play some taylor swift.âÂ
she raises an eyebrow at the other girl, looking down at her from where she stands with her hands on her hips. âseriously?â chaewon would sooner die than let a stranger touch her guitar. she shrugs off her jacket and gently places it on the grass to sit down on. âsure.â

eric snorts, âyouâd be surprised how often it comes up when people are drunk at parties.â thereâs been quite a few times at parties where the topic of first kisses has come up and ericâs had to admit heâs never had his first kiss. people usually donât believe him, or call him cute and coo at him like heâs a baby (not that he really minds being babied, in all honesty). âi feel like iâd rather have a bad first kiss than no first kiss.â he says with a pout.Â
heâs about to ask if chaewon thinks heâs unattractive, but closes his mouth, a flush spreading over his cheek as she says that isnât his problem. something about her thinking heâs not unattractive makes his stomach do nervous flips. however, when she says his problem is obliviousness, he frowns. does she mean that.. heâs had the chance and completely not noticed it, or something else? because that sounds rather far fetched to her. âleft hanging..?â he murmurs in confusion, before it slowly dawns on him what she could be saying. as she confirms his suspicions his lips part in a surprised âoâ.Â
sheâs trying to kiss him? the blush on his cheeks spreads right to the tips of his ears and his eyes widen, before a nervous giggle escapes him and he bites back a grin. âreally? youâd kiss me?â it sounds crazy, someone as beautiful as chaewon being down to kiss him. but, since it was so blatantly said, he assumes sheâs not joking around, so he nods eagerly. âyes. i definitely want.â
she rolls her eyes at him again. âyouâre so dramatic.â chaewonâs surprised that it matters so much to him, but she supposes it mightâve done to her to if she was in that situation. she has enough insecurities of her own already though, she doesnât want to waste any time dwelling on imaginary ones. and, she supposes, she doesnât mind ridding eric of one of his.
âoh my god,â she laughs, as she reaches out and puts her hand on his shoulder, using it to scoot right up close to him. âdonât say it like that. it doesnât matter how desperate you are,â chaewon explains, clicking her tongue at the same moment that she jabs her index finger into his chest, physically punctuating her point. âitâs a total turn off to actually show it.â in her opinion, anyways. sheâs sure there are exceptions to chaewonâs rule, but for a moment she was tempted to pull back -- not because she didnât want to kiss him, but because of her old habits and instincts slipping back in, just for an instant. the newer, nicer version of chaewon stays put where she is.
now that sheâs actually here, almost sitting in his lap, chaewon feels a slight surge of nerves. she laughs them off, and theyâre gone as quickly as they appeared. admittedly apprehensive about taking the lead, she places one hand against his flushed cheek and leans in. chaewon kisses him gently, chastely pressing her lips against his for a handful of seconds. then, she slowly pulls back, and raises an eyebrow quizzically.Â

Rest is welcome to Wendy, especially now that her final semester in university is starting. Itâs almost weird to be thinking of today as her âlast first day of schoolâ in a long time. She never thought this day would come, but here it is. Itâs going to be sad to say goodbye, but sheâll cross that bridge when she gets there. She finally gets back to Nova Entertainment, and the first thing she does is head to the cafeteria. She has not eaten since breakfast, so Manager Siwan will have to stop judging her for today.
She looks up when she sees someone approach her. Wendy remembers Chaewon from both the speak up classes and their impromptu meetup. The last time they talked, Chaewon didnât seem to be associated with the company. Perhaps it happened sometime after that?Â
âCongratulations and welcome to Nova, Chaewon!â She says with a smile. âCome and sit with me, if youâre not busy doing anything else.âÂ
Wendy nods. âHow did the audition go? Were they nice to you?â She asks. Sheâs genuinely curious how all the newcomers made it to the company. âWhat did you do?â Â
âthank you so much!â chaewonâs cheeks immediately flush red when wendy invites her to actually sit with her. a meal with a member of her favourite girl group ... yeah, maybe getting into nova over royal or kt was fate. never one to turn down an opportunity, and feeling much more confident because of their former meetings and after meeting sunmi, chaewon slides into place opposite wendy. âah, iâd love to, thank you.â
âit went well! i suppose they were nice ... actually, they didnât say anything. i just walked in, did my thing and left. they only spoke to me when they offered me the contract. it was the, uh, star bright auditions from this year. they usually hold them every couple of years, i think.â sheâd love to have been cast through some public, extravagant method like wendy on her season of the mgas, but it was probably better that it happened the way that it did. chaewon can guess that sheâd probably have been edited into some sort of villain on the show if she had gone on it. âi performed a routine i choreographed to a little mix song a while back, when i was teaching a dance class! and i sang with it.â

taeyang arches a single brow above confident eyes, positive that she is fooling aroundâthere is no hiding that heâs good looking but deep down, he actually thinks that chaewon is right. dating someone like him absolutely stains oneâs reputation if they know about his past and what happens behind the scenes of his family, however, hardly anyone does. in fact, he can count on one hand how many who does.
âhmm, i donât know who made the worse call back then.â he says, purely to return the tease.
not to say that taeyang is a horrible person, though. sure, he has flaws as most humans does, but his own view of himself is rather poorâitâs well hidden, it always has been. anyway, at the end of the day, he canât say anything but that he is happy to have met chaewon, and that she is still part of his life. as they step into the empty training room, he leads the way towards the sound system, motioning for her to set up.
âah, you know~ itâs nothing to worry about, but iâm sure happy to hear you have a good year.â rather than explaining everything regarding his late parents, his possibly lost dream and the breakup with his girlfriend, taeyang refrains from opening the can of worms. âyou should tell me more about it after you show me your audition routine!â so, he does what he does best, and thatâs to shift the attention elsewhere.
âme. it was me. i made the worse call,â chaewon insists haughtily, though she doesnât completely believe that either. sheâs still a bitch a lot of the time today, but back when they first met she was probably much worse -- she didnât have any friends, she was still dead set on returning to london, and she was still reeling from her parentsâ accident.Â
weirdly, thatâs how she likes to remember herself back then anyways. chaewon doesnât like to be reminded of the fact that her standoffish behaviour was a cover up for her shyness and anxiety, for her grief and her worry. taeyang totally got the short end of the stick, but she was glad that heâd taken it anyways.
âthe worst best call,â she adds. if heâs been having a bad year, chaewon surely doesnât want to make it worse. sheâs a bitch, but sheâs not evil. she looks out for her friends. âif youâre sure itâs nothing to worry about, then thatâs okay. iâm not any good at giving advice anyways. but iâd still be ... fine with listening sometimes.â one. because she cares. two. because sheâs nosey.Â
chaewon queues up her song. âi only got to perform some of it at the audition, but iâll show you the full thing.â she counts herself in as she gets into position, and then, sheâs dancing.

eric isnât surprised chaewonâs kissed people, when she looks like that. itâs understandable to him that heâd have lived his life kissless when heâs so average looking, when there were people walking around blessed with good looks, like chaewon. why kiss an eric, when you could kiss a chaewon, right? âi dunno, it sounds awful but itâs the experience and being able to say youâve done it that i guess iâve missed out on.â
he knows he doesnât have to like someone, or be liked, to be kissed, romantically that is, but he doesnât think anyone has ever liked him enough visually to want to kiss him either. he wonders why though, when he realises guys who he really thinks were less attractive than him had had their first kisses. itâs not that he thinks heâs handsome, because he doesnât, heâs just average. at least heâs got good personal hygiene and wears clean clothes - a scary number of guys his age donât even do those things, yet still get kissed.
âi just⌠think no oneâs ever found me attractive enough to warrant kissing.â he admits, his blush staying fixed on his cheeks. itâs strange, admitting it to chaewon, what if she thinks less of him now? something about the thought makes his stomach twist unpleasantly. sheâs a good friend and heâd not want to ruin that by making her think heâs lame. however, her question shakes his from his thoughts and he emits a light laugh. âof course i do. i just donât think anyone wants to kiss me.â he says, assuming she means in general (because surely that wasnât an offer).Â
chaewon shakes her head. âno way, plus, whoâs even asking if you have or not?â she insists. âi mean, apart from this conversation, obviously. really, it just sucked. thinking about it makes me want to ...â she scrunches up her face in disgust and points a finger into her mouth. she holds herself back from making the noises to match. sheâs playing it up a little. âvery weird memories. but, i guess most people probably find it weird the first couple of times.âÂ
âthatâs dumb,â she says flatly, leaning back on her hands to get a proper look at him. âunattractive people get laid all the time too, so even if that was your problem -- which itâs not -- then you donât have anything to worry about.â sheâs not the most skilled in being reassuring. any of her friends can vouch for that. chaewonâs advice and comfort are almost always sincere, but tend to come packaged messily. still, she delivers her points confidently, a smug smile spreading across her face. she nudges him with her foot as she uncrosses her legs. âearth to eric, hello?â she teases, waving a finger in front of his face. âi think i know what your problem actually is. youâre oblivious.â chaewon leans back again, raising an eyebrow at him as she rolls her eyes. âhow many people have you left hanging like this?â sheâs messing with him now, her voice whiny as she pouts. chaewon canât help laughing, mostly with him, but a little bit at him. âstupid. iâm trying to right now, if you want.â

@chaewonrk
her acoustic guitar sat neglected in her bedroom for some days now, her easel and canvas getting more of her undivided attention. julia had always been a tad bit terrible when it comes to multitasking; opting to choose one over the other instead of cramming her entire day with both. seeing as she has just successfully wrapped up the art project she was diligently working on, she now has the freedom to pick up her guitar and focus on her music without guilt of having unfinished business.Â
like always, she chooses to lug her instrument halfway across seoul to her favorite han river park for some peace and quiet. her sister was at home, studying for some medical exam and would have had a coronary if julia so much as makes a noise within her vicinity. this was her safe space. as she unpacks her guitar from its bag, it felt like homecoming.
she feels the strings for a moment, smiles happily at the familiar touch. after awhile, she starts playing a songâone so frequently played she could do it with her eyes closed. as soon as she opens her mouth to sing, she gets lost in it. failed to see the figure just off of her right. upon finishing the song, she finally sees her and breaks out into a polite smile. âdo you play?â she asks in greeting like the somewhat unusual girl that she is.
meandering through the park isnât something that chaewon does often, but when she does, she like to take her time. sometimes, usually after a long night of drinking or, more recently, after a particularly hard dayâs practice, she craves the feeling of the air on her skin. itâs extra special during the cooler months, when the bite in the air forces her awake.Â
sans airpods however, chaewon finds the ambient noises of the park more disconcerting than anything else. she kicks a stone aside, silently cursing herself for forgetting them, and for being too lazy to turn back around when sheâd realized she didnât have them. then, she hears a guitar. chaewon really doesnât mean to act like a creep, to hang around and listen to the girl playing when sheâs not even formally busking ... but she is playing in public. if sheâs annoyed, chaewonâll just tell her to go play inside if she doesnât want people listening in. her voice is pretty too.Â
âthat was really nice.â chaewon returns her smile, well used to practicing niceties by now. sheâs never one to turn down an opportunity to talk about herself. âi do, actually.â though she doesnât play much recently. âi should play more though.â

as chaewon confirms, taeyang nods in approvement whilst realising that they proceeded to attack the audition with the same tactics. âobviously, that was a good choiceâotherwise, you wouldnât be here right nowâi did the same thing actually, went for one of the routines that i used to teach a while back at negative motion.â darn, how he misses it there.
although unexpected, he can only grin as excitement blooms. yes, he is absolutely eager to see what kind of routine landed chaewon a contract with nova entertainment, though perfectly aware that she deserves a spot here. with their history in mind, taeyang obviously cares about her, he wants to see her succeed. âsure thing! i think there should beâŚâ
his sentence trails to a pause as he moves, then waves for her to follow his lead. âiâm pretty sure that one of these rooms are empty, they usually are.â when he opens the intended door, taeyang carefully checks it for people, remembering the time he barged in and disturbed seungahâs practiceâwith the coast clear, he shows her inside to the cool room.
turning to her, he nods, a small smile lingers. âyeah, iâm fine. twenty-twenty has been a lot, thatâs all.â
âmhm, obviously. but iâve never made a bad choice in my life, so is it really all that surprising?â chaewonâs ego is so easily inflated. her head is already a bit too big for her shoulders, but the growth isnât showing any signs of stopping any time soon. âobviously my taste is good.â she tapped her chin thoughtfully, looking at taeyang playfully. âah, but i dated you, didnât i? thatâs a stain on my reputation.â
thatâs completely untrue. taeyang played a big role in chaewonâs first couple of years living in seoul. sheâs happy to call him a friend. she strolls after him towards the practice rooms, fingers linked behind her back as she walks. âhopefully.â she sing-songs. itâs always so awkward to go into a room and then have to immediately dip back out. in that situation, itâs only polite to apologise, but chaewon hates having to.
once inside the studio, she makes a beeline for the speaker set up in the corner, crouching down to pick up the aux cord. âmm? how so?â she looks over her shoulder, raising an eyebrow at taeyang. âif you donât want to talk about it, thatâs fine, but ... thatâs a shame to hear.â 2020 has been a surprisingly good year for her so far. sheâd like that to be the same for him.

as intimidated as chaewon is by the and*roma members, she does want to see gyeoul again. chaewon doesnât really believe in fate, but she doesnât exactly think itâs totally bullshit either. she believes in luck, and she believes in paths. like, if chaewonâs parents were still around, sheâd probably still be living in london. she mightâve gone onto a singing show like the x factor, or maybe the producers her mother knew wouldâve gotten her a role on the west end. thatâs one path. if she hadnât made friends with naeun in high school, she might have given up on performing altogether.Â
and, if she hadnât gone to gyeoulâs singing class at the samsung speak up event, she might not have written down and*roma as one of her musical inspirations on her audition form. if she hadnât, nova might not have taken a second look at her.
( unlikely, she knows, but she thinks that her listing and*roma on the form basically said that nova was her third choice of company, even if she didnât realise it at the time. )
chaewon tentatively approaches wendy in the nova canteen, clutching her can of coffee in both hands.
âum, hi,â she says, lips stretched into a thin smile. âi ... donât know if you still remember me,â sheâd remembered her before, and chaewon had been so impressed by it. âbut i got signed to nova entertainment last month.â

maybe she should have gone to one of the other locations for the evaluation. not because she thinks any of the other concepts would suit her better ( they wouldnât, the pink pool cafĂŠ is totally the best location for her look ), but because she hates all this waiting around. theyâre meant to stick around for other peopleâs photos too, but chaewon is sure that she couldâve talked her way into getting to go home early.Â
as it is, sheâs made plans with lisa for later, and itâs looking like sheâs among the last few trainees up anyways. faking an illness to get to skip out early now would just be a waste of her breath and her acting skills at this stage.
chaewon watches everyone go up and get their photos taken one by one, becoming increasingly bored with the situation. some people look really charismatic in front of the camera, and others look awkward and robotic. she canât help laughing at a couple of people who suffer particularly bad under the camera lensâ pressure.
she feels a little bad for it though, because once itâs her turn to take pictures, chaewon feels kind of on the awkward side herself. ugh, how embarrassing... she poses to the best of her ability, but she canât help feeling like sheâs about as dynamic as a cardboard cut out. it makes sense. chaewon isnât used to posing for pictures like this. she mostly takes selfies, or sheâs posing with others in a much more casual situation. this is brand new to her.
even after rationalizing all of that to herself, chaewon still feels embarrassed anyways as she thanks the photographer and scurries off to get back to waiting. sheâs pretty, so she knows that her photos will turn out okay no matter what. the pictures might look a bit stiff, but at least theyâll still be pleasing to the eye.
she hopes, anyways.

she smiles, allowing the other girl to poke her cheek even if she normally hates it when people touch her face. for chaewon, she supposes sheâll allow it, given their history together. âthey are, right?â her tone is light and half joking, because apparently it doesnât take much for someone to boost her ego, and she knows chaewon wouldnât lie to her about these things. as much as it seems everyone expects something a little more edgy from her, she thinks she can pull off cute just as well.
if nothing else she just likes to be able to prove people wrong, so maybe thatâs why sheâs here after all.
âclubbing isnât fun as long as the company staff is there anyways.â or fellow trainees, for that matter. she can just imagine the annoying ones going and snitching on her for something stupid, and the thought makes her a little bit annoyed even if itâs entirely hypothetical. âi think you could make arcade lighting work though. or at least i feel like they would bring some lighting and those reflective things. you would look cute in an arcade, with a colorful outfit and everything.â
lisa sighs, following the girlâs gaze to the empty cafe shelves. âwell, maybe we can go get something after. iâm starving.â
âabsolutely!â chaewon sing-songs. encouraging her friends, even if it is by way of inflating their heads. she really does think that lisa has a cuter face than people give her credit for. she could pull off any concept, chaewon thinks. sheâs lucky like that. as for chaewon, sheâs too small, too princessy for most people to take her seriously when she does anything other than cute. it works to her advantage most of the time, but sometimes sheâd like to be seen in a different light.Â
chaewon plays with the ends of her hair. maybe the blonde hair is contributing to that image. sheâs attached to it now though, sheâs not ready to dye it back to black or any other darker colour just yet.Â
âright? like that party they threw last month ... it was cute but, eh, it was kind of lame.â she rolls her eyes. even if it was a little on the lame side, sheâs glad that she had such a sweet deal for her first trainee evaluation. âoh, maybe a look with a vintage feel? arcades are totally, like, 80s, arenât they?â
âyes! yes, yes, please.â chaewon claps her hands together, glad to have something to look forward to. âi could use a drink, too.â
