Friendly Reminder

I’d just like to point out something..

Other witches: *Has a neat, beautiful book of shadows* *has herbs labelled and organised on shelves* *charges crystals every full moon* *records spells and rituals* *never runs out of herbs and is always prepared*

Me: *has a book of shadows, two grimoires, multiple notebooks all in a state of falling apart* *has herbs and flowers everywhere. Hanging off the walls and from string across the ceiling. Using old salsa jars and unlabelled containers* *mutters in confusion “shit, is that basil or parsley??”* *forgets its a full moon until the last minuet* *frantically throws crystals onto window sill* *forgets to record spells and rituals. Aggressively stares at spell jar, “What did I put in you?? I hope that’s rosemary” *turns out to be thyme** *decides to do a spell last minuet, doesn”t have any rosemary left, throws some honey and sunflower seeds into a jar while muttering “be a positive bitch, let sunshine shine from thy ass”

No one is perfect because there is no such thing.

So if you forget it’s a full moon, or stutter while saying a spell, it’s okay. If you drop your herbs or get your cards mixed up in a reading it’s okay! If you have a messy book of shadows with spelling mistakes, and things crossed out and scribbled in the margins then it’s okay!! 

It’s also okay if you want everything to be aesthetically pleasing.It’s okay if you spend hours writing out a single page in your grimoire, because you want it to be perfect. It’s okay if you arrange all your herbs in jars with fine print labels and all their correspondences listed underneath. 

Your craft is personal. It is yours alone. There is no right or wrong way.

So if it’s messy that’s okay. If it’s organised that’s okay.

If it’s clumsy that’s okay.

If it’s subtle that’s okay. If it’s out there that’s okay.

Don’t compare yourself to other witches or being others down. Bring them and yourselves up

As long as it’s you, whatever you’re doing is okay.
