I lovelovelove seeing high schoolers study chemistry with their notes and textbooks and all, it's just so cute. Not in a patronizing way! In a "I was there too once and I've come such a long way" way and in a "there's still so much ahead of you to learn and figure out and I hope you can enjoy the process" way and in a "chemistry is beautiful, I'm glad you see it too" way

I absolutely need to vent my frustration...

Despite having Covid I still had to show up for my laboratory activities... The worst part wasn't feeling suffocated while wearing an ffp2 mask, my eyeglasses, protective goggles... I was expected to work on my own, except nobody prepared any glassware, anything for me to work on

I stood there for a whole half hour while everybody was getting started... Usually we work in pairs and ask each other in case of doubts, this time I was left COMPLETELY ON MY OWN

I couldn't catch up no matter what, and I kept annoying other classmates with questions (why isn't everything already written on the procedure??)

And the cherry on top: MY DUMBASS USED ACETONE INSTEAD OF WATER AND LOST ALL OF MY PRODUCT INSTEAD OF MAKING PRECIPITATE AAAAAAAAAH

we need to romanticize studying and learning and being intelligent again

If there’s something this blog is about besides showing again and again that the world is beautiful it’s that sometimes when you’re looking it’s as if the world is reading you poems or telling you stories that bypass your brain and go straight to your heart. Like it’s feeding a part of you that otherwise gets starved and saying over and over again, You belong to me and You’re just what I wanted.

Women all around the world have created traditional dishes and dances and sewn the clothing and organized the parties and preserved the photos and created the rituals and practices and customs and decided on the decor and set the trends of their communities and I am very proud to descend from them. Women make the world vibrant and warm. People say, oh but you haven’t invented as many machines and gadgets or you haven’t written as many classic books or you haven’t built the architecture but guess what? I don’t care because I will always take pride in how women have contributed to coloring the world in various unique ways
