May be the discipleship deficit is because we haven't preached grace enough. So often our approach to discipleship is by guilt-tripping and fear-instilling. We want to give ourselves to the Lord because we feel obligated, guilty, because we are scared of the judgement day that we'll be among the goats and we will miss the reward. As a result, we are always overworked, resentful and tired. Not until we experience the grace of God will we gladly and freely offer ourselves to Him. What can I give what can I bring To so faithful a friend To so loving a King We need to let people experience first the goodness of God.

Lord, I’ve always thought that ministry was easy, loving people was easy, understanding faith was easy - but it is not. For who can fathom your ways and your thoughts? Who can say that he knows and understand you completely? For you are beyond our imagination. But we can catch your glimpses.
Lord I thank you for bringing people into my life, that I may truly learn to love and be patient and realize that faith is not simplistic but often simply profound.
Help me to continue to think and to pray.
